No Shortcut Garage Doors was easy to work with and did an excellent job installing my new garage door. I received several quotes before deciding to go with No Shortcut. What stood out was that John never acted like a salesperson trying to push a particular brand. Instead, he took the time to understand what I wanted and was willing to source whichever garage door brand best fit my needs. He was transparent about pricing, clearly explained the costs of the different features I wanted, and honestly discussed the pros and cons of each brand without trying to steer me toward one or criticize another. In the end, he was able to get me the exact garage door I wanted with all the features I was looking for at a fair and competitive price. The installation was professional, and the finished result significantly improved the curb appeal of my home. I'm extremely satisfied with both the product and the installation, and I would highly recommend No Shortcut Garage Doors. read more

Fast response and quick service. Honest pricing and professional. I had the company helped with garage door due to physical damage.

So my Lift Master garage door opener of 20 years finally decided to call it quits. I contacted No Shortcut Garage Doors and John the owner answered right away. I explained my situation and he was able to set up an appointment within a day. The technician was right in time and he ran through his diagnostics of the unit and came up with the same conclusion I did, the unit was dead! I wanted to replace the unit with a chain drive unit, but all the technician had was a belt drive unit, which costed a few dollars more. I spoke with John and he made some "adjustments" on the price to accommodate me. The technician had the unit up and running within the hour. I was very happy with the overall experience and would use them again in the future. read more

A chain on our old, old garage door broke, preventing it from opening with our opener. He came out the same day to check it out and replaced it quickly. He answered a few questions I had about upgrading to a new door as well. He was personable and I sensed he was knowledgeable, trustworthy, and experienced. We will probably call him when we are ready to upgrade. Thank you! read more

I installed a Genie chain 750 garage door opener myself. The drive spindle had a chip in the gear but that was not the problem. Genie customer service tried to help getting unit to run but after 4 traverses of the door, unit stopped working. Hired No Shortcut to see if in their 1 hour visit they could get it fully working. They found a special setup I had not done and they got the system fully working in 15 minutes. Very helpful and very good attention to detail. Highly recommended read more

John is the man you want for your garage door needs! I appreciate him and his partner so much for their fantastically quick response and great work. I found one of my garage door springs was broken very late last night, and I was so worried about what my family was going to do the next day if we were not going to be able to get any cars out of the house. I called John at around 8:00 this morning, and he was at my house at 8:30 and had everything fixed by 9:30! He was so prompt, polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. He explained how to spot the worn and broken parts, and how to do maintenance going forward to extend the life of my door overall. He told me there is a warranty for this job, and he also reassured me that he is close by if I need help again. He left me with a quote that I requested for future work that I am anticipating. I believe that he did the job for a fair price and did not try to upsell me. I think most importantly, he helped me feel safe and gave my family peace of mind. (For busy parents, this is a huge plus.) I will absolutely be recommending him to my friends and family. read more

No Shortcut Garage Doors truly lives up to their name. They don't take any shortcuts. I opened my garage on a Friday and one of the coil springs snapped. I gave them a call and in less than 24 hours they were at my place. The technician was professional, efficient, and had everything done in under 30 minutes. In and out, no hassle. They didn't just fix the issue either. They greased everything to make the door run quieter and gave helpful recommendations for future maintenance. I'm usually the type to look things up on YouTube and try to fix it myself, but this saved me a ton of time and stress. Garage doors are not something you want to mess up, and having an expert handle it made all the difference. If you want fast, reliable service done right the first time, give these guys a call. read more

John came out on short notice. He replaced our garage door spring which had broken. He also pointed out that it rollers and another piece of hardware were in poor shape (ball bearings worn out) and replaced those. He did a great job explaining things and didn't mind me poking around and asking questions as they worked which was very nice of him. He also gave instructions on maintenance. He seemed to have a lot of experience and was very fast and efficient with the work. He also made some quick fixes to things the previous installer had taken shortcuts on. I called John yesterday to replace the torsion springs in my two-car garage, and he was able to send his technician, Felix, out this morning. Felix was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He completed the repair in less than an hour and also took the extra time to adjust the loose belt and oil the rollers. Felix also explained that my old springs had broken because they were the wrong size for my insulated garage door. The new springs he installed were longer and the correct size for my garage. I really appreciated the prompt service, professionalism, and attention to detail. I highly recommend John and his crew if you have any garage door issues. Great service and a job well done! read more

John and his crew were quick and professional I'm grateful they removed the broken roll up door from my barn.

As a local small business owner myself, I truly value supporting other local businesses, and John from No Shortcut Garage Doors is exactly why. Working with large nationwide companies can often feel overwhelming because you don't even know where to start, and unfortunately, nobody really takes the time to kindly explain things step by step. John was different. He professionally explained what was worth repairing, what was unnecessary, and what options made the most sense long term. That honesty and guidance were something I genuinely appreciated. Another huge advantage was having access to the showroom, which made the decision process much easier and more comfortable. I was also under a very tight timeline, and John handled everything extremely professionally. The work was completed on time, communication was clear throughout the process, and he even went above and beyond with additional service and support. You can tell immediately that he truly knows what he's doing. Five stars well deserved. Highly recommend! read more

We called a number of garage door repair companies and we decided to use No Shortcut Garage Doors. The owner John came with one other guy to give an estimate. He was friendly and honest. Only quoted for what absolutely needed to be repaired. He explained that garage door motors typically last 15-20 years. He took a photo of the motor and showed us that our's was past due. Very happy with their work. I recommend that you reach out with your garage door needs. read more

Went to open my garage door today, and it cracked open and began beeping a warning sound. The cables were sticking out of the top of my door. I don't know anything about garage doors or their parts, so jumped on Yelp for my search for a service repairman. At 130pm, I called No Shortcut Garage Doors and John answered after 2 rings. He was able to come out to my place by 330pm. Same-day service on a Friday afternoon! When John arrived, he explained my spring was spent and I needed to replace it. He included it would come with a warranty. John also suggested I replace my rollers to reduce the stress placed on the spring. He went over cost details and got to work. Everything was completed by 4pm by John and his associate. 30 minutes!!! I greatly value and appreciate speed, as I'm sure most people do. Loved their availability, speed and efficiency, quality of work, pricing and sense of humor. I'm looking forward to referring them to my colleagues at my real estate brokerage. We are always looking for quality contractors, and I've found one with John at No Shortcut Garage Doors. read more

Twenty years ago, my wife and I installed a GENIE EXCELERATOR, series II garage door opener. It held up well over the years. However, like all things mechanical, they eventually wear out and break down. Yesterday I went to open the garage door with the remote, and it would only open a foot and stop. I tried it several times, with the same results. I called Genie, hoping they could give me a quick fix. Unfortunately, they were no help. Consequently, I went to Yelp and started looking for a garage door servicing company, and came upon "No Shortcut Garage Doors" with a five-star rating with over 250 reviews. I called them, and John, the owner, arrived about 20 minutes later. I explained the issue, and he began investigating it. Within minutes after inspection, he told me the lift adjustment was maxed out, and the motor had seen its last days. He also pointed out that one of the hinges on the door was broken, and a couple of others were not within spec for proper door operation. He offered me the Lift Master brand with a built-in video camera, door sensors, a wall control button, one remote, a backup battery in the event of a power outage, and a phone app with either chain-driven or belt-driven. I opted for the belt-driven since it was quieter. John quoted me a price which I thought was fair, I accepted it, and he went to work immediately, taking down the old Genie and putting up the new Lift Master Model 6580. He also replaced the broken hinge, replaced the others with the correct ones, and adjusted the coil spring, rebalancing the door. When he finished, he took the old motor and track. From the time he arrived until the time he left, after the work was completed, was about 90 minutes. I didn't eat up my day calling around getting quotes, because I needed the garage door opener fixed, and the most precious thing we have is time. Furthermore, this company received a 5-star rating out of over 250 reviews. I can't tell you how relieved I am to get this issue resolved and off my plate. Thanx John, Good Job. read more

Broken garage door spring on a Friday afternoon. Called around to find anyone available at a good price and got super lucky with No Shortcut Garage Doors! Got lucky with immediate availability (YMMV) and John arrives in 30 min to replace our springs, our rollers, and lube up the door. (Always take the time to learn basic maintenance from everyone! Know where to lube so you can DIY that properly - I had missed a spot.) Now my garage doors work great and are quiet again! Thanks! read more

Quite straightforward communication, and comparably good pricing. Overall 5-start start-to-end experience! My project is a garage door replacement for a custom made door. Quoted Costco and another local supplier, and no shortcut is slightly better in their offering. Onsite tech seems highly skilled in what they do and got the job done in less than half day. Most importantly the door looked beautiful, and the tech had all my questions answered. Although be aware that they verbal quote does not include tax, which seemed contradictory to norm. I'll see if their warranty holds if anything shall happen. read more

I had a very good experience recently with No Shortcut Garage Doors. Recently we saw some bugs in our garage, and after researching online, we found that it could be due to the bottom seal of our garage door no longer closing completely (leaving tiny gaps where the bugs can crawl under to enter our garage area). I looked up several garage door companies over Yelp, and I selected to work with No Shortcut Garage Doors because they gave me upfront pricing (after I sent them a photo of my garage door). I did not get the run around unlike from other businesses. The owner (John) came to our home on time, and he was very honest in giving us the different options, considering the age of our garage door (19 years old). There was no pressure at all from him to sell us a new garage door - I could see he was just trying to help give us the info from his professional viewpoint. We ended up going the path of just minor adjustments to the garage door so it could come down a little lower, and I only spent a fraction of what it could cost to replace the bottom seal. Now I can use the money I saved towards saving for a new garage door, which John told me would probably be in about 2 to 3 years max. When that time comes, I definitely plan to give him a call again! I highly recommend this business! read more

Broken spring repair plus new wheels on roll-up door. Next day service. Quick and efficient. Great communication.

Our garage sensor or motor didn't detect an obstruction blocking our garage door, the door ultimately kept closing onto the object and damaged the door, the whole top panel was bent, I couldn't manually close it. They were quick to come out and did an assessment of the damages and got the door realigned for the time being to get the door closed in as quick as 15 mins, also quoted me a fair and reasonable price and gave me a time frame on parts. Very professional and would highly recommend. read more

The sensors on the garage door have been acting up and we finally decided to call for repairs. We picked two companies through Yelp and John was the second estimate we received. He was very responsive (called with 5 mins), and his pricing was fair. There was no hard upsell and he was honest about what should be replaced and what could wait. He was able to get everything done quickly. Offered a 5 year warranty. I recommend him for garage repairs. read more
