My project was to replace my old garage door with a new one. Before I contact Real Garage Doors, I had talked with two other installers with bad experience. On Tuesday I requested an estimate and made an appointment for Wednesday. The estimator showed up on time. My garage had two beams deemed too low to be removed. The estimator told me it was unnecessary. That afternoon, I received the offer. Compared with other offers, it was the least expensive. On Thursday, I accepted the offer, and arrange the installation on next Monday. On Monday, it was installed. I inspected the result. It was very good. The door opened and closed with little noise. Its perimeter was properly sealed. Therefore I give 5 stars tentatively. However problems may not show up until years later. So I will wait several years before I render final judgment. read more

Our garage spring broke yesterday so I used Yelp to search for someone to repair it. Mike was easy to talk to- responsive and gave a straightforward quote, so I decided to go with them. Nico arrived right on the dot. He got to work and finished quick, sprayed all the hinges, and was knowledgeable in telling us how to better care for the garage door. In & out in about half an hour for a 2-spring job. The only thing is, he wasn't wearing a mask and he was on the phone like, "yeah bro this door is cheapy cheapy." Sheesh. I wouldn't take stars off for that, though. He had a mask in the car and put it on with no issues when requested. He also told us how realtors make easy money by putting in the cheaper options for doors. I originally had this garage door installed NINE years ago and it has performed flawlessly until last night. Tension spring broke. Normal wear and tear for being used close to a decade several times a day. We use ut as our main entry into the house. Called for same day service and was able to book an appointment. Rep I spoke with seemed busy but still willing to help me and didn't make me feel rushed. My issue dealt with a broken spring. Seems as though it's pretty common and had parts readily available. Cost wise I found a different company for a bit lower but decided to go with RGD since they were able to accommodate me quickly. My repairman was Ernesto and he was like speedy Gonzales. He was calm, cool and collected. I must say he's an expert and made the job look easy. I was able to pay with a check since I didn't have cash. One recommendation I must suggest is to probably have them staple a business card next to my garage opener so in the future I can reach out to RGD for my garage needs! I reached out to these guys through Yelp during July 4th weekend and they were super responsive! I had a couple of questions and Mike got back to me within 15 mins about costs and options. Their quote was actually less than what another competitor quoted because he seemed to know the root of the garage door opener's problem. I also appreciated that they're not pushy about other products and services; unlike some company's I reached out to. They said through Yelp messenger that they'd be at my house between 9 am and 11 am, and they were ringing my door bell at 10! However they were the only firm that figured out a good way to repair the garage door rather than replace the whole thing so we decided to use them. I am so glad I held out for this company! The spring on my garage door broke, it was still under warranty so I was able to get a spring for free however labor was not covered. I called several company's and they all stated that they would not do the labor on parts I did not purchase through them. Two company's who stated they could do the work quoted me double of what Real Garage Doors quoted. I spoke to Chris on Wednesday afternoon, gave me a quote that made my jaw drop and I tried to hide my excitement over the savings!!! He had someone out the very next morning. Was told someone would be at my home by 9AM, at 8:50 I had someone at my front door and by 9:15 he had his tools packed and ready to go. Can't believe how quickly the job was done and am so happy!! One company who quoted the work gave me a price which included a new spring and it cost over $900, the tech who came out from Real Garage Doors said they charge a third of that. I was looking to have a garage door opener installed at my mom's house. I reached out to a few companies on yelp and Mike was the first person to respond, which was a huge positive. He went straight to the point and gave me a list of openers he had carries and pricing. A few others did respond also with pricing but by the time they did I had already had a full on conversation with Mike through Yelp with him answering my million and one questions. I do want to add that he never pushed me to buy or in any way made me feel like my questions were dumb or annoying. His pricing was the most competitive, which does worry me sometimes because I am always afraid of sub par work. But everything has been great so far so I took a leap of faith and gave Mike my business. They were a little busy and Chris and I played a little bit of phone tag trying to schedule the install, but that can't be faulted to them..1 person phone tag is called ghosting and they weren't doing that to me at all. Besides, they pretty much gave me next day service from the time I agreed to give them my business. While we were on the phone scheduling the install, Chris also offered his insight into the model of opener I was planning on purchasing. I asked him a value (not price) question and he gave me his honest opinion, which wasn't to go with the most expensive model. Good way to know you're working with honest people when they don't try to oversell you. Day of the install, Chris texted me when Ernesto was on his way. That was great because like I said it was my mom's house and it gave me time to get there. Ernesto showed up, explained what he was going to do and got straight to work. You can tell he knows what he is doing. He made it look easy. He explained how to program the remotes and program the control pad. The biggest surprise that I wasn't expecting. Before Ernesto cleaned up, he lubed up the tracks and joints of the garage door. He probably noticed that it wasn't used much recently and needed it.
