Good simple burgers. Cheap by Swiss standards. This is not a gourmet burger but it's good for this price point.

Unless you don't mind eating outside in the dark with all the smokers. Second....expect to wait a long time. This isn't a fast food restaurant so grab a beer and wait 45/60 min to get your food. Third... Switzerland is very expensive so this restaurant is no different. 2 burgers, 2 alcoholic drinks, and French fries were 98CHF which is pretty much 100 bucks. They have 3 sauces for you to try. Ketchup- Tasted like marinara sauce. BBQ- Tasted like smokey ketchup. 1000 island. Tasted normal. Burgers were great. They were juicy and delicious. Animal Style French Fries were a good try. Def not like the original but so far from home it was a nice find. This restaurant isn't for Americans. Way too expensive for what we eat all the time but I compare this place to the Melting Pot in the US. That place is so overpriced but it's amazing to get your cheese fondue fix. I can't imagine Swiss people coming to the US and eating at our expensive version of cheese fondue. Service was ok. It was super busy so can't really complain but I could tell our waiter was super annoyed with our audacity of showing up , with no reservation, and willingness to wait. And for some dumb reason you can't order "The Threesome" (or Hattrick) with a group of 5 people. 4 apparently is ok but we had 5. Cannot imagine why if 3 people order the same thing it's an inconvenience for the restaurant but DON'T DO IT or again your waiter will show his annoyance.

Arrived with no reservations; great food, good wait times, highly recommend! Everything was to our…read moreexpectations

We happened upon it just by looking up restaurants close to our hotel and it wound up being our favorite place we ate in our whole 10 days in Switzerland! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. When you walk up, there are tables and chairs throughout the walkway and then an entire open area of tables off of the outside bar for a fun hangout. The building appears to be an old house turned restaurant and is so beautiful on the outside and so warm and inviting on the inside. The menu had accommodations for everyone - which is so nice as I am a lactose intolerant pescatarian! I got the beetroot and black bean burger both nights I was there and it was to die for!! I ate the entire thing both nights and just wanted more (it was a big burger though)!! I also had a watermelon spritz which was so refreshing! You can tell the owners/workers get to know their regulars as I saw them stopping by tables and chatting - which was just so fun to see! If you're in Zurich, I highly recommend popping by! My only regret was that I never saved room for the brownie dessert!

The buffalo wings were tasty and quite spicy, so if you don't enjoy a higher spice level... this wouldn't be for you. The service was great and our server answered our questions and was so kind to our doggy companion! I would definitely come back to enjoy this spot again.

James Joyce boasts having the "best" burger in town (it's not) and our local friend recommended the place more for drinks, but we chose this anyway since its within walking distance from Widder bar where we came from. The menu reads like a dependable Irish pub fare, but with Zurich prices. GAH! I feel destitute in Zurich. Prices of 25CHF and up for an entree is typical. Fish n chips were deliciously crispy; while the burger has decent moist MMMeat. Alas, the cheese was dried out and burnt on the edges. (I mean, how does one manage to burn cheese?!) Sit outside if the weather permits, because the setting is really inviting with tea light candles and fresh flowers on the table. A glass of Lillet Blanc and a Guiness on tap are excellent end of the night drinks. The friendly service warrants the 4th star, but you should go somewhere else for the best burger in town.

The hotel had been slated for demolition and the bank that was building a place to entertain its out of town clients bought the wood paneling and decorations and shipped it all over to Zurich--crazy! I read about this place in my guide book and it was also recommended by my Zurich resident friend so I had to check it out. From the outside you'd never be able to tell what the interior holds; it has a quite a modern-looking patio and is on a well-heeled side street off the main shipping drag, Bonhofstrasse. It looks like it could be any other upscale bar until you walk inside: lots of dark gleaming yet well-worn wood, intricate tile work, and period paintings. You can take it all in as you sip the beverage of your choice. We weren't hungry enough to sample their food, but from what I could see on the other tables it looked pretty damn good. The bartender was very nice and friendly and the whole place just felt very comfortable. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I both ordered a Heidi burger, one with the No. 42 (herbal sauce) and one with the No.78 BBQ sauce), one order of fries, and a Swiss coke. From the first bite of the burger, I could taste the smokey flavor. The bread texture is very different from any of the buns I have had before; a bit chewy but it goes really well with the burger. The meat was very juice. It was funny watching my husband eating the burger while the juice was dripping down from the burger. I didn't find the fries any special, but their ketchup was amazing. It was tangy sweet and it had a coke flavor to it. The Swiss coke was a bit on the sweet side, not as carbonated coca cola, but not flat either. We live in the US, visiting Switzerland as tourists, everything seems to be 2 to 3 times more expensive here. A good quality plain burger at Heidi's costs less than 10 CHF is definitely good value. All the ingredients are natural and we love their environmental friendly packagings. Definitely recommend this place.

Heidi & Tell had wonderful customer service, the cashier was so friendly and made great recommendations, especially with us visiting from the states. I ordered the Heidi Burger and it was yummy, but not as juicy as I usually like my burgers. The ingredients are clean, and you can definitely taste the difference. The herb sauce was so good and had a nice zest, which made the burger. Order a side of crispy sweet potato fries also, and you will be a happy camper!
