Burger Tour. A new Hope.

I was looking for a nice place to have a fast dinner on a working day. 19:00 the place was not full only 15 persons. The bartender (waiter) was very frindly and offerd to order one of the burgers. He said that they are famouse for the burgers. The service was fast. There was a large selection of beers. The place is good for groups and i guess it gets a little more busy later at the evening. I think althgo the place is expansive it is not bad as for value for money ypu need to remember it is Zurich.

Love the dark wood and furnishings at this Irish bar. Bar stools, leather wrap around seating and beautiful wall coverings.

Have been here with coworkers for drinks and dinner. Quiet enough to talk, but lively enough to not be boring. Definitely feels like an after-work crowd in business suits. People looking to connect and network. Food is of good quality, and the flamkuchen is our favorite to share with drinks. Perfect finger foods. Nice selection of wine, beer and a full bar.

Awesome burgers (although expect Swiss prices of ~30CHF/burger)! The patty was thick and super juicy. Make sure you get the burgers with the fried egg and bacon and ask if they can add some fried onion on it! The fried onion gives it that perfect crispiness. We also tried the burger with cheese, fried onion and fried egg, but the type of cheese they use overpowers the taste of the burger and became the star of the show, although it was really yummy cheese. The outdoor seating area is really relaxing place to hang out for a coffee or drink after lunch.

Saturday, early afternoon. Hungry from shopping at Bahnhofstrasse. Walking in, place is almost empty. Chilling New Orleans Jazz Music playing in the backgroud. Having a James Joyce Burger. With fried egg, onions and fries (30 CHF). Drinking a large Boddingtons Ale from the tap (10 CHF). Best joYce for today!

Unfortunately we got into Xerox so late they were no longer serving food but no matter there was a football game on TV and the locals of course were going berserk for soccer game I don't really understand much for but it was totally awesome to be part of that energy. Of course being Switzerland and Zurich it was pretty expensive almost $40 American for three drinks. When you walk in you see yourself providing there is something available and then you have to order your food and drink from the bar they will deliver it back to your table. The place has a British pub vibe and is a great spot if you're looking for cozy bar. It's also a little further from the busy old town scene if you want a break from the heavy foot traffic.

The surrounding buildings all looked fairly modern and new, which was kind of surprising, because I had an image of this area being kind of dumpy. The pub had an old-fashioned look with old-style decorations on the wall, but everything seemed clean and new--which I really liked. I guess it's been a while since I've been in a Zürich pub, because I have bad memories of stale cigarette smoke still lingering in other places right after they instilled the indoor smoking ban. This bar is really spacious and has a lot of different kinds of beer on tap. I had two little glasses of Smithwick's, because my fellow Yelpers told me it's difficult to find this Irish beer elsewhere in Zürich. It's a really good-tasting beer, and I would have downed more, except I had to work the next day. I already had dinner before coming, so I couldn't partake in the tasting-looking menu. The fully-loaded nachos and pot pies and fries looked REALLY yummy. There was a guy named Mel who played the guitar and sang, and he was really good as a one-man band. I think he was supposed to stop at one point because there was a soccer game on tv, but due to popular request, he was able to keep on playing. The staff was really nice and spoke English. It was a bit loud to talk comfortably over the live music, but not impossible to have decent conversations. The only downside was that I didn't see any wall hooks to hang up my winter coat. But other than that, I really liked this place.

Everything from a solid built lager to even meade. The selection will not disappoint. The bar staff is quite friendly and incredibly helpful in weighing your options. He explained "if I have not broken bread with you (the brewer), I am not selling your beer. " The vibe was friendly but a bit off kilter and Irreverent. I asked to open a tab and was given a small action figure to track my bill. The beer was not cheap with prices ranging from 9-15 CHF.
