They have big portions here but still pretty expensive for a burger and fries. I got a big cheese and the beef was soft but wasn't as flavorful as I wanted it to be. However, the fries were perfect: crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also, if you're a student, you can get a discount on the combo deals.

To give a burger place a 5 star rating, it means something is very special here. People say it's expensive. Sure, it's not cheap. But (1) very well worth it.... And (2) compared to everything in Zurich, it's priced just about right. Service was excellent. Good came out without delays. The burger itself is simply excellent.

Expensive burger for no reason. We paid about 35 francs for two burgers, an order of fries, and a drink. The quality wasn't bad. It's similar to a burger you would grab at a deli, so it wasn't really worth the price tag. The good thing is that the food came out very quickly. We barely even sat down, and our order came out. Tip - there's a student discount if you show your ID.

Maui Maui burger meal :) (100% Swiss Beef, cheese, pineapple, chopped mint, and caramelized onions)

Finally got to check out Holy Cow, yum! :) My burger-lovin' American bf suggested it as a spontaneous lunch option today as we were walking by the central library, and I remembered the name from previous Yelp events, so I was super excited to come get the Holy Cow experience! The portions here are ginormous and totally fill you up. I had half a mind to order a kiddie meal to save on calories, but then I decided to continue my binge eating streak and gorge on a full-size meal. Mr. bf tried to be Mr. Responsible and suggested that we order one meal with fries and one with salad and then share the sides. How come MY order was the one with the salad?? :O Haha... However, I did order the salad with the creamiest, fattiest mayo dressing and then generously helped myself to his fat, succulent fries and smothered them in creamy mayo, tangy ketchup (from the biggest squeeze bottle I've ever seen in my life), and yellow mustard... so not sure how many calories we actually saved by doing the sharing thing. :P Putting my American hat on, I first yelped about how expensive the burgers were--like CHF 10 for the burger and 20 for the meal. But then Mr. Practical mentioned what a great deal this was--a complete meal for just under CHF 20. He did have a point. That IS quite a good deal in Switzerland. And these are gourmet burgers. And no one was going to leave hungry. We both chose ice tea as our beverage of choice, and it came in a large plastic bottle filled with sweet, peachy deliciousness. The salad was just greens smothered in creamy white sauce, but it was mixed greens with what looked like lettuce, rucola, and some spring onion / scallions mixed in? The fries were awesome. Thick-cut, filled with potatoey goodness, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. The bun was light and airy and the meat was lean but still tasty. Lots of sauce that got all over the place and in my face, and orange cheese. American cheese? Dunno. Burger cheese. I got the Maui Maui, which was 100% Swiss Beef, cheese, pineapple, chopped mint, and caramelized onions. I would say it didn't taste "American", but it was still yummy in its own way. I loved the pineapple. So sweet and yummy. It was a nice day today, and I considered sitting outside, but you're kind of looking at a graffiti-lined wall in the Niederdorf... so I decided the view indoors would be better. Plenty of bench and bar seating, large windows that let in a lot of natural light, and lots of crumbs covering the table. :P They were playing funky music that put me in a cheery mood, which was another bonus for sitting inside. However, the music was a bit too loud for quiet conversation, and we had to raise our voices a bit to be heard.

This place was so good I went back twice while in Zurich for just 3 days. The bacon avocado chicken sandwich is AMAZING and very filling. The sauces all mesh together wonderfully and the avocado is fresh, while the bacon is thick cut and delicious. The fries are tasty too. This place isn't cheap by American fast food standards, but not much in Zurich is. Definitely worth a stop in for a quick, satisfying meal.

Oh good grief, what a beast of a burger! Quite empty on NYD but a convenient stop off from the station and friendly staff more than made up for the slightly lacking atmosphere. Plumped for the Elvis Blue Cheese and now have a gut that would impress the King himself. Good mix of flavours on the toppings and a nice bun but I can see why folk have mentioned the slightly dry patty, though in all reality it's not a killer issue esp. given the reasonable pricing.

Very positive five star burger joint in Zurich! Yes, the other positive reviews initially pulled me here, but my actual experience is where my five stars originate. As another reviewer noted, the burgers are on the dry side. Why? Because the near is lean, not dripping with loads of extra fat - so this is the spot for "healthy" burgers! This is the way I like my burgers but they usually don't come that way. So already I'm happy...and the bacon and avocado on my burger made me even happier :) The fries are incredible here - although like with burgers, people differ regarding their taste in fries. Therefore, description: these fries were large (thick) in size with VERY crunchy exteriors and hot, moist interiors. They stayed hot beyond the end of eating my burger, which seldom happens. Nice! Now if I move to Zurich, I know that my regular burger place will be Holy Cow!

    Pesto and mozzarella burger

I was a bit disappointed since I've heard a lot of people say the burgers here are really yummy. It was good but I wouldn't crave for it like I crave for Shake Shack or Upland burgers in the US. We ordered two special burgers. One with bbq sauce and avocado and bacon and the other one with a pesto and mozzarella. Both weren't WOW, although the ingredients in the burgers were definitely high quality and fresh. On the bright side, the fries were really good! :)

Don't understand the hype. I got a beef bacon avocado burger. It was alright, Ive definitely had better elsewhere. The fries were unseasoned and the sodas they had were very strange. Place was packed and it was incredibly hard to find a table.

An OK burger place close to Niederdorf! This burger place is OK. But not the best one in town. You have to order your burger at the cash stand and pay right away. They will deliver the burrger at your table. Pay attention don't forget your ticket (the number is on it with your order). They are extremly fast. You don't even have the time to sit on a table. The service is ok but nothing special. And you really feel like in a fast food chain restaurant with a very nice interior. The burgers are ok and the french fries as well. But as said, you can get better in town.

Unless, you walk in during odd hours. Swiss food is not popular for being tasty and having bold flavors. Unless you intend to just eat cheese and chocolate, Swiss food is rather forgettable. Highly influenced by German cuisine, expect things like wienerschnitzel, bratwurst, pork shank, etc. Sausage with Potato Saiad: All their sausage is served with potato salad but you can sub it out with French fries or rosti. The sausage was nice. The potato salad was surprisingly good. 4/5 Cordon Bleu: You get a choice between veal and pork. I chose pork. The description on their menu says "tender pork escalope, filled with ham and SPICY Gruyère cheese, fried crispy". There was no spice at all. LOL. The ham was probably 2 thin slices. There are other Swiss restaurants in Zurich that makes better cordon Bleu. 3/5 The service was quite slow. We waited for our server to come over. They sent the only English-speaking server to handle like 7 tables. It's definitely a one and done. Come here for the vibes, not for the food.

Decent minced meat. Not a finely grinded, perfectly shaped patty but the real deal (to my taste). Topped with an orchestra of flavours: the spicy chipotle sauce, the juicy tomato salsa, the ripe avocado, the fresh cilantro... I was in burger heaven. Not to forget the fries. It would be an insult to call them sides. First of all, how many places offer sweet potato fries? Maybe because you have to know how to prepare them. For example with a sheer panade to make them crispy outside and a slightly smoky flavour. But, the original potato fries are outstanding, too. Crispy, well-seasoned with an own mix of spices and extra yummy with a dip of the home-made ketchup. The menu is a great bargain: for CHF 6.90 extra to the burger you get an uber side plus a tasty soft drink with all natural ingredients.
