Flight of #CraftBeer
Mark J.

Newly opened Alehouse. Great place to stop by and have a beer or two (or a flight or two). Nice place with lots of open tables and chairs to meet people. I love their tap system where you can see the current amount of beer left on each tap. In a sense you can keep track of your favorite beer so you don't run out OR you can use it to see what's popular! Met one of the bartenders, Mats, he's pretty cool and super friendly! He has a wealth of knowledge and told us a lot about the place and the craft beer! Great place to stop by, drink beer and meet people! Viva!

A rare DeStruisse imperial stout.

Great beer bar close to Zurich University. 20 taps, all good craft choices, and a terrific (but expensive) bottle list. Here on a Thursday night. Not crowded but I'm not sure if classes are in session. Didn't try the food so rating is based on beer and bar ambience. Three high quality (and somewhat rare), high gravity (10-12%) draft beers set me back 31CH plus tip.

Just let you know they are closed until 4th of January 2019 for maintenance. People are so nice.

The glasses are actually small Austrian wine glasses

What a fantastic pub. Located in the heart of Zurich we were walking around looking for a place to…read moreget something to eat and get a proper pint and this place was hopping. Unfortunately we got into Xerox so late they were no longer serving food but no matter there was a football game on TV and the locals of course were going berserk for soccer game I don't really understand much for but it was totally awesome to be part of that energy. Of course being Switzerland and Zurich it was pretty expensive almost $40 American for three drinks. When you walk in you see yourself providing there is something available and then you have to order your food and drink from the bar they will deliver it back to your table. They also allow to go drinks and are more than happy. I wish I had more time in Switzerland I really wanted to try their fish and chips

The fish was fresh and crispy served with a basket of fries, tartar sauce and cole slaw. We ordered and paid at the bar and were served at the table. The place has a British pub vibe and is a great spot if you're looking for cozy bar. It's also a little further from the busy old town scene if you want a break from the heavy foot traffic.

Walking up the stairs to the main floor you'll see a number of booths for drinks, mingling and whatever else tickles your fancy. You see the bar outline the area with shelves of spirits, wine and beers offering a wide selection of all three. With the DJ tucked away in the corner you'll find people on the dance floor small but intimate with smoke, lights and a disco ball. Upstairs is much more intimate with table service, couches and hookah. Closed off with tarpe and such; it gives a little too enclosed. We ended grabbing a couple drafts and drinks; some drinks mixed like the Painkiller, a fruity drink with coconut rum and my cousin got a Henny neat. Our hookah split between 4 people gave us more than ample time to smoke, drink and chat. The blueberry mint flavor was pretty clean tasting more mint with a subtle taste of blueberry. Not your German spot by any means but for travelers looking to stay within walking distance of public transportation this is a good place to come to

Unless you don't mind eating outside in the dark with all the smokers. Second....expect to wait a long time. This isn't a fast food restaurant so grab a beer and wait 45/60 min to get your food. Third... Switzerland is very expensive so this restaurant is no different. 2 burgers, 2 alcoholic drinks, and French fries were 98CHF which is pretty much 100 bucks. They have 3 sauces for you to try. Ketchup- Tasted like marinara sauce. BBQ- Tasted like smokey ketchup. 1000 island. Tasted normal. Burgers were great. They were juicy and delicious. Animal Style French Fries were a good try. Def not like the original but so far from home it was a nice find. This restaurant isn't for Americans. Way too expensive for what we eat all the time but I compare this place to the Melting Pot in the US. That place is so overpriced but it's amazing to get your cheese fondue fix. I can't imagine Swiss people coming to the US and eating at our expensive version of cheese fondue. Service was ok. It was super busy so can't really complain but I could tell our waiter was super annoyed with our audacity of showing up , with no reservation, and willingness to wait. And for some dumb reason you can't order "The Threesome" (or Hattrick) with a group of 5 people. 4 apparently is ok but we had 5. Cannot imagine why if 3 people order the same thing it's an inconvenience for the restaurant but DON'T DO IT or again your waiter will show his annoyance.

Arrived with no reservations; great food, good wait times, highly recommend! Everything was to our…read moreexpectations
