One of the most recommended spots when we were researching cocktail bars in town, so of course we came to check it out! Our large group was seated in the back area which had a cozy ambiance and interesting decor. I ordered the Strawberry Club which was pretty and refreshing! We also got a tiny complimentary bowl of rice cracker snacks to munch on, although I feel like we should have been given more since we were a huge party spanning multiple mini tables. One thing that was uncomfortable was that there were 2 people in our group that didn't want to drink and therefore did not order anything. Even when this was explained, it felt like staff was pushing them to order a drink. What a great find! We stumbled across the Old Crow when looking for some bars in the area. The inside is really cool and has a lounge-y feel to it. My friend and I wound up sitting at an isolated table in the courtyard because the weather was nice. I ordered the hanky panky, which surprisingly I really enjoyed! Normally I don't drink liquor, but decided that I ought to try something out of my comfort zone. My friend got the pineapple princess which she really enjoyed! We also ordered the cheese board, which I don't believe is in the menu, but our waiter said that they could throw one together - seriously one of the best that we've had! The menu consists of probably 50+ drinks, each of them unique to the bar. I would definitely come back here if I ever find myself in Zurich again! read more

Come for the cocktails, stay for the AMAZING spirits (bourbon, rye, scotch, and some other stuff) and conversation with the owner. We tried some Switzerland bourbon (forgot the name) which was pretty tasty. The selection here is absolutely world class. They have some of the rarest spirits around. Everything from a 50yr Glenfiddich ($1000 per shot) to a 1974 Playboy addition of Scotch to 1970's era Old Crow in plastic bottles (its actually pretty good before Old Crow took a dive to the bottom of the shelf). If you are in to Japanese whisky they also have you covered. Owner is super knowledgeable without being pretentious. Entire wait staff was nice and spoke great English. Oh and back to the cocktails. They were also very good. Well crafted, prepared, and served. Prices are as expected for cocktails or spirits in Switzerland. Expensive. But, in this case, worth it. read more

I'm so glad we found this bar. They offer our favourite cocktails and the staff made recommendations based on our individual taste. They also have a courtyard to sit outside during warm summer nights. The prices are a bit too high for cocktails, but that is typical for Zurich and there are far more expensive bars in the city. I never thought I'd be able to give another five stars for a bar here in Zurich. Well goes to show you can never assume anything in life. This is my second five star for a cocktail bar in Zurich next to my first love, the Widder Bar in the Widder Hotel. My friends brought me here and I was in love. Especially after I ran into my most favorite bartender manager who I knew from the Widder. Turns out this gem of a bartender manager who has helped build the Widder bar to how great it is for about 15 years, has left the Widder for a couple of years ago to open his own shop here. Kudos, because he is so passionate about what he does. The Old Crow bar is awesome in its own ways. Like the Widder, it is also stocked with a gazillion specialties... but the ambiance is more upscale hipster with a dash of class and tons of "Old Crow" memorabilia that will keep you entertained for a bit. Not stuffy at all - whereas once in a while the Widder could also attract stuffy types as well. I guess ones who might do a compare and contrast would say Old Crow has character. Widder has swank. If you are looking for nice cocktails to be served with style and class, and have bartenders who live and breathe by how they serve, what do they serve things in and what they do - this is the place to be. This place also has a vast selection of notable whiskeys. Plus this is owned by people, whereas the Widder is basically walking into UBS (owned by them) and getting a drink. The Japanese cracker mix snacks are not so bad either - it doesn't compel me to snack until I explode but it is sufficient for me while I'm having my cocktails. Here's a toast to you! read more

My fiance and I really love this place! I was brought here by a local who loves Widder Bar (which is a block away) and it's upscale and beautiful (almost like a fancy cave) but also cozy and warm. The music is always great (but I may be biased because it's old school American classics) and the bartenders are very friendly and accomodating. I've tried several of their cocktails (the cucumber drink or spicy Singapore one as well as classics like Old Fashioneds) and they are perfection. Watch out, they're strong which justifies the 18-20 CHF price tag. Great date spot or to catch up with friends since there are larger tables in the back. The bar is beautiful with hundreds of liquors, some very obscure and hard to obtain, but the bartender will be happy to discuss any and all bottles with you. I've been here when it's packed and when it's more than half empty and the service is always great. The bar treats with the spicy wasabi crackers and nuts are always a plus. I've never been to the back patio because the weather only recently got warm but we will definitely be making this our regular bar in town. read more

Let me just say that: here you find REAL bar keepers ! Excellent service, great recommendations, clean and hygienic, the music IS background. Superb whisky collection, but that is far from all. I think the price range does not motivate to have multiple drinks, but the one that I drink, is so good that I come back another time for another one. I am not into cocktails and mixed drinks, but I must say, in the Old Crow, that is all I drink, because the card makes one want to try, it is interesting and tasty and their advise is great. Drinks have flavor and taste and don't just smell of cheap liquor like they do in too many places nowadays. If you want to be in good hands for a drink or two, enjoy a special treat you cannot get anywhere in Zurich and don't mind that you can actually speak with your company, then this is definitely a place you will enjoy. read more

It could take hours to consider the hundreds of single malt whiskies available, but the staff has an intimate knowledge of all of them and will help you choose.
