To start, these guys are about 2-3x the cost of others in the area. That would be fine if they in fact did 2-3x better quality work. Every project is like you are annoying Paul for giving him your business. We have had several projects where the work was half ass, poor quality and not what we asked. Any time you say this isn't what we wanted he threatens you with his "lawyer" or yells at you like you were in the wrong by voicing your dissatisfaction. There have been times they don't show up on time, his workers would just disappear for hours "on lunch" while setting up, showing up with subpar product and despite all of this we used him several times. Why, you ask? Familiarity. It was easier to deal with all this than to find a new vendor. Until now. His team broke a $17,000 piece of art. Has admitted to it and it's on camera and refuses to pay to replace it and now saying he's not responsible. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. read more

Yes it did take some time to finish, but people got to understand that different places work in different ways, and some artists need time to be able to properly create a piece of art rather than rush the job and get a mediocre result. Installed! Overall, VERY PLEASED with the sign. Finish appears to be very high quality. Though paint, the flat colors appear like thick powder coating. We hope the colors weather well. Unfortunately there is a slight bow in the sign face, most evident between the "T" & logo when standing closer and below the sign. Was told they would adjust & try fix if still an issue when they return to put of vinyl window signs. Again, the quality of #Signmakers LA is obvious. We hired this vendor for an out of town job. Not only were they irresponsible, late and didn't follow through, but everything they produced was low quality, and full of short cuts. In the end one of the pieces fell apart during the actual event, and the company who hired us for production called it out as unacceptable. Just wanted to add to the list of unhappy customers. I found Paul on Google. Went to his store and he said "if you pay me upfront I will give you a better price" So I gave him almost $7000. in cash and he wrote a hand written receipt with no install dates. We went through hell to get our our sign tons of BS emails back and forth. We even pushed our grand opening date up a few months. The sign was installed wrong and he promised to fix the issue, which he never did. I don't understand how this guy is in business. They sub-contract all the signs out to other companies according to his installer who complained that he wasn't getting paid on time! The price was fair, they delivered on their promises, and I felt I was treated with courtesy and respect at all times. The owner, Paul, seems like a good guy. Right off the bat Paul comes off as a totally different character then the norm. There is a high demand for his type of craftsmanship and I understood his demeanor and straight to business attitude. This company is AWESOME. Earlier this week I found myself with a banner emergency. I needed a very quick turnaround on a vinyl banner. I walked into this shop, spoke with the owner, and just like that they turned the job around in a few hours. They were super responsive, professional and easy to work with. They could have raked me over the coals with the price, but they didn't and to top it off they went the extra mile and delivered the banner to my DTLA hotel. HUGE!!! Amazing people. Paul is the coolest guy I have met at any shops. I took my car there to put on some stickers at a random time, and he put his guys on it right away. They were all super friendly and chill and put their 100% into the work although it was a very hard job. The job took about 3 hours but he still gave me an awesome deal. At the end my card got declined and I was in a rush so he told me I can go and just call the back and do the payment over the phone. I mean come on, who does that? We had to call several times, got the run around and could never get either of the two people on the phone with whom we'd made the agreement. After many calls and emails it seems they finally out sourced our sign to another company. This company finally made our sign and hung it on the front of our building. The electrical still doesn't work and the sign is crooked. The secondary company said Signmakers normally doesn't even DELIVER a sign so I guess we got lucky in that regard but now I can't get a hold of the secondary company either. So one week later I called them and had Paul's assistant on the phone saying Paul would call me back.... 4 days later I am still waiting for that call.
