I had some pavers loose on my patio that needed to be fixed. George responded quickly to the quote request Yelp generated and came out to my house just as fast. He was able to power-wash the patio (driveway, and my opposite side walk/stoop) to prepare the area, then come two days later to fix the pavers. George is extremely nice and provided a competitive price. Would for sure use again when I need a new home project completed.

After a botched plumbing job in my grandfather's 110-year-old DC row house, the upstairs bathroom was left completely unusable. The plumber left a hole in the floor where the toilet once sat. Even worse, he did not put down a tarp in the kitchen, thus allowing concrete and other debris to fall into the kitchen including the sink drain below through an existing hole in the ceiling. Thankfully I was referred to Sigma Construction Associates by a longtime coworker/friend, and what a blessing that turned out to be. When we initially met George, we were only looking to repair the bathroom floor and plumbing. But realistically, the bathroom was decades overdue for a complete upgrade and renovation. In addition to the bathroom, the kitchen was also in need of a renovation but we opted for a refresh. George listened to our wishes and was already thinking ahead with plans. Once the bathroom neared completion, water from the basement quarter bathroom started backing up into the kitchen. Fortunately, this happened before work began in the kitchen. George's crew discovered a broken pipe in the floor of the basement due to years of corrosion. This required them to not only dig up the concrete floor, but also tunnel out into the back yard to remove additional corroded pipes. Thankfully we now have reliable plumbing for years to come along with a presentable basement bathroom, a refreshed kitchen and a 21st century upstairs bathroom! What George and his crew do is more than just improving the aesthetics and functionality of your home. George loves what he does, and it shines through. He is patient, a good listener and very personable. He thinks ahead for what will work best in your life while keeping the final cost affordable and reasonable. He is truly a blessing and a godsend who is fair, genuine and trustworthy. The added bonus is that he has a hardworking, talented crew who takes pride in their work as well. If you have the opportunity to hire/work with Sigma Construction Associates and George Barksdale, I highly encourage you to do so. My grandfather is quite the curmudgeon but after the results, he is now inspired to hire Sigma for other home projects.

Sigma Construction Partners renovated my townhouse which included painting my 3 levels including closets, new basement floor, and they gutted out the bathroom with a tub and rebuilt a shower. Their prices were the cheapest, but the quality of work was impressive. They demonstrated professionalism, the body of work past my expectations and it also reflected what I requested. I will use them for all my future projects, having a reliable contractor you trust that is reliable and not trying to add on unnecessary cost is a blessing. I would definitely recommend their services.

He took over an hour to measure everything and sent me the lumber quote he received so that I was fully informed, then we talked labor. He would point out problematic areas (like rotting framing) and would ask me if I wanted to have it replaced rather than just covering it up with the new surface. He did an amazing job that had my mom's tenants and the neighbors complementing the work and I felt the price was very reasonable. Based on that job, I brought him out to take a look at my townhouse to possibly replace the siding and he suggested sanding, priming and painting instead due to the price of replacement. They sanded almost every square inch of it, primed it (in some areas twice) with a peeling paint primer that is like glue to fill in gaps and keep the rest of the old paint from peeling, and then put a double coat over everything. When they finished, I was surprised to find that they had power washed our patio, porch, and front half-height fence and even painted the fence though we never talked about doing any of that work. I felt compelled to pay him extra. Deck Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wELQYf0YGKY

AMAZING! If I could give Whitmer Decks six (or more) stars, I wouldn't hesitate…read more Cliff Whitmer and his entire crew--Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, and Keen--truly knocked it out of the park from start to finish. From our very first meeting with Cliff (the company owner!) to the final walk-through with Sam, the project manager, the experience was exceptional every step of the way. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Not once did we feel anything less than a top priority. Texts were answered within an hour, and emails were always returned within hours. That level of responsiveness gave us complete confidence and peace of mind. Mike, Pavlo, and Wade were the primary builders, and they were phenomenal. They treated us like rock stars during the entire three-and-a-half-week build. Mike, the lead carpenter, took the time to explain every phase of the project in detail, which my wife and I truly appreciated. Whitmer Decks removed our old deck and built a beautiful new 14x12 screened porch, along with a 10x10 deck and staircase. I'm no professional photographer, but the results speak for themselves--we are absolutely thrilled. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can fully enjoy our stunning new space. The craftsmanship is simply incredible. These guys are true artists. Every time we look at the work Whitmer Decks completed, we're blown away all over again. Thank you to Cliff, Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, Keen--and Spark Roofing as well. You are all amazing, and we will not hesitate to give our highest recommendation to anyone who asks. I want to mention that their estimate/upgrade process was incredibly easy and actually fun to work with! Each upgrade came with about 5-10 photos that were VERY helpful in envisioning what the final product would actually look like! With gratitude, Shawn Purcell

Spent an hour at my house discussing and taking measurements. Waited nearly two weeks for the quote and get a call they don't "replace" and confirmed they said they only do new construction per the "manager". Missed HOA deadline for May due to waiting on this final quote to make my decision to submit the application. Frustrating. They clearly didn't want the job or update your website to remove "deck replacement".

We now have the best patio in our DC neighborhood, our drainage problems are nonexistent and we are able to host gatherings very easily with tons of fun! They provided options for a stone patio, paver patio, and a brick patio. Obviously, as you can see in the pictures, we went with the brick! I love the timeless look, and I think it goes really well with the rest of our yard and the look of our home. Special shout out to their Forman Erick and his two assistants!

That's as close to magic that I can think of here in Virginia! The other contractor on Yelp didn't have the proper insurance when we were going through HOA submission and just kept dragging us along even after they started the work.
