Previously we…read moresaved money using different storage companies that cluster on Varner Rd & Monterey just north of the 10 freeway, but every time at Varner Rd storage facilities when I opened the unit door ----- even when the unit was inside the deep hallway of a protective building ----- there was a sheet of desert dust caked over and into every item. Yuck. StorAmerica's 42nd street location surprised and delightfully beat my expectations whenever I slide up the unit door I can actually see our possessions ----- and they are not covered by a blanket of dirt. The reason is the wisdom of the old expression "location location location," because there are many country clubs and built up infrastructures adjacent for miles that have paved or put acres golf greens over the wild desert dirt fields. If you are newcomer to the desert, the season of spring and early summer bring weekly powerful wind storms that blow dirt at dust bowl scale, causing rivers of rural desert sand to pelt cars and knock treess down and sand in sudden rivers of dirt blow across highways, blinding vision on some roads, stirring debris and every kind of leaf and pollen to nature's sudden drumbeat. Thankfully, this StorAmerica ----- Not being at the vulnerable edge of town where there's miles of rural desert fields to fuel the dirt downpour ----- helps to keep to this place clean ----- inside and out ! Stephanie and Enereo are big helps too our family ------ for both are detail-oriented professionals with excellent management skills. They are friendly and answered all of our questions quickly. Restroom is clean as well, while nicely.. the available large truck motor runs well & is reliable because management keeps it well-maintained. All in all, thankfully it was throughout much cleaner than we expected {again, after storing at other companies on Varner Rd, sooo grateful for this discovery that this company StorAmerica's facility's location is largely free from exposure to desert sand blowing because it is insulated so well in...cleaner south Palm Desert. That's what makes it unique to the desert. The responsive Stephanie and Enereo sealed our experience with gratitude. They showed us great customer service. In the workplace there was not a grouchy attitude ----- they showed a zeal for deserved pride in this safe clean storage facility ----- fortified the old-fashioned way ---- by managers who live on-site.

How much of that is actually a TIP for the corporation. 2. The walls are paper thin and rattle. Someone next to adjacent storage sheds could literally punch the thin drywall and enter your shed through the paper thin walls. 3. The place is extremely dusty. You MUST cover your stuff. A fine sand and silt on everything! 4. No dolleys, no water fountain, no bathroom, the absolute CHEAPEST storage shed you could ever have. 5. We drove 60 miles to get some things and the computerized code entry machine did not work so no one could get into their storage. AND...no one answered the office number or answered the door. What a joke. There were 6 cars, including our rented van, that could not get in to our own storage shed. So we wasted gas, rental van fees, and tons of time on these idiots. 6. This is all about taking your money with crazy charges and the bare, bare, bare bones faciities. Especially for Palm Desert. You would expect more. 7. DO NOT BUY the locks that they sell you. My key for that lock actually worked on another unit! I accidentally opened the wrong shed, but closed it quickly. The keys can open other sheds!!!! WTF! 8. In my opinion, based on this location, I think this company is a joke. 9. Another thing: they use that AI crap and good luck being put on hold forever just to get a person in another country who can barely speak clear English.

The man inside begrudgingly came and let me in, did not introduce himself at all and I still don't know his name he told me he was the only one working there for the past two weeks and he closes early because he has a 15 minute checklist that he needs to go through before he leaves. So even though the time says open until 6 PM they actually close at like 540. I'm not a complicated person I'm not a take a long time kind of guy so I was fully prepared to just sign some documents and be on my way. I knew it was close to closing time and I wasn't going to take up this man's time more than like three minutes, but instead he had to sit me down at his desk as if I was a student in trouble and proceed to dump on me about how he's the only one that's there and even though I was told by the Customer Service people over the phone to just come in to discuss a lock situation (cause you need a super special cylinder lock which they alone have the master key to which I don't find comforting at all and so I attached two of my own locks to my unit.) apparently I should have known beforehand not to listen to the Customer Service people over the phone which he proceeded to drill me about as well. At this point I had about enough and I was just wanting to move into my unit and get things started so my patience was thin and I finally cut this man off and I said "OK what do I need to do to just move in right now" and he told me that I could sit in my car out in the 110° heat and do everything online because his checklist. I was completely insulted, I went outside and started a online check-in which I would've done beforehand again had the person over the phone at Customer Service not told me to "just come in" to see if I can get the lock price ($20) removed so while I was doing this out in the 110 degree heat, the move-in special suddenly disappeared so I tried calling them, I was person number one in line and I had zero people ahead of me and Customer Service would be with me momentarily. I listened to this and sat there for 20 minutes while it told me I was number one in line and zero people ahead of me. During this time I went online to chat to Customer Service on there which to my dismay was only a basic function AI bot. ** just a quick note to companies you really need to stop putting these bots as your main point of contact and making it so impossible to get a hold of someone, these bots are nothing more than redirection hyperlinks with an algorithm meant to direct you to different parts of the website in case you're too stupid to find them on your own. If it was something I could solve on my own I would just do it. You need to stop Underestimating the everyday Customer and make it more simple to just contact a live person, and also by the way making the bot take a couple seconds before it gives iT's algorithm Answer doesn't convince us anymore that it's a Human typing out an Answer, It just infuriates us** off my soapbox. So by the time all was said and done I managed to just work around it open a new browser in incognito mode go and managed to find the promotion again, paid the stupid lock fee because, whatever at this point, and moved into my unit. Oh but I should also add before doing so, I actually had to drive away to go charge my car because this whole process took so long and I had to run the AC the whole time because the 110° heat. The facility itself is actually not bad there's a sense of creepy atmosphere after the sun goes down when you're outside but for the most part it's very secure inside, people cannot hop from one paddock to the other via the ceiling which happens at a lot of these places. this was just my personal experience and my review of it, I did decide to stay at the unit because I was very happy with overall facility I sincerely hope my experience is not your experience.

Paid on-time automatic out of my bank account. I disputed and talked them into $173.00 monthly and they are charging me $190.00 instead. This is a warning. It's the only storage facility I've been where rent was raised so drastically and now they are being extremely rude, condescending, yelling & would not let me talk about this. Also, the west gate does not work & hasn't worked for months. Nighttime isn't safe to be alone & there are always people falling asleep or nodding out in the bathroom.
