This office has completely gone downhill since Dr. Hannah rarely visits. What used to be a smooth,…read morecompassionate, and well-run practice is now disorganized and incredibly frustrating to deal with. We've had multiple scheduling issues in the past, but today was the worst. My son had a broken wire on his bottom permanent retainer. I called and was told it could be repaired without seeing the orthodontist. (For some reason, you now have to call a separate number to schedule ortho appointments.) Later, someone from the office called to confirm the appointment and told me we would need ortho after all--then put me on hold and came back saying actually, it could be handled in the general office. Confusing, but we went in anyway. When we arrived, they charged me $75 for the repair. My son went back, and instead of fixing the wire, they didn't even see it. They ended up roughly ripping out the bottom retainer completely. My son has anxiety, it's noted in his file, he takes medication for it--which Dr. Hannah understood and worked with patiently--but no one here took that into consideration. After removing the retainer, they made him sit and wait, only to tell him they couldn't finish the job because the ortho cabinet was locked. He was left with rough glue in his mouth and his tongue was being scratched by dried adhesive. The staff told me I now had to call ortho myself and wait for a new appointment. When I called, I was told the doctor won't even be in for over two weeks and to get it done sooner I would have to drive from our home in Glendale to Chandler - 45 minutes. I agreed the chandler appointment. This was a complete mess from start to finish. Poor communication, lack of coordination, and zero concern for patient experience. Really disappointing. I am looking for a new dentist for my kids.

Good thing I happened to be searching Yelp and found the best reviews of this place. I arrived with so many nerves, but left there feeling so happy and grateful that I found Dr. Catalina and her staff. The staff are professional, helpful and follow all protocols to protect their patients health and safety. I come from a family background of folks in the medical field and know proper protocols for patient health and noticed each individual make the proper decisions to follow health safety and sanitation guidelines. I was impressed at how they handled each task and how Dr. Catalina herself made me feel at ease, confident and comfortable in the chair. I couldn't believe it, but yes.. now I regularly attend dental appointments and know that when I step into her office, I will be taken care of and welcomed. I scheduled this appointment over a week in advance and specifically informed the office when booking that I would be using a Groupon. This was not new information and this was not my first appointment with them. They had more than enough time to contact me beforehand if they had no intention of honoring the Groupon. Instead, they waited until I arrived for my appointment -- after I had already taken time off work -- to suddenly refuse to accept it. Their insulting "solution" was offering to deduct the $7 Groupon purchase price from the full cost of the appointment, which completely defeats the purpose of purchasing a Groupon in the first place. What is especially concerning is that nowhere on the Groupon voucher does it state there is a "one-time lifetime use" restriction. In fact, the Groupon explicitly states it may be repurchased every 30 days. Either the office is falsely advertising through Groupon or they are making up policies as they go. The entire experience felt dishonest, disorganized, and discriminatory. Based on the way I was treated, I cannot rule out the possibility of racial discrimination playing a role in this situation. People work hard for their money and their time. Taking off work for an appointment only to be blindsided upon arrival is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering this office to get EVERYTHING in writing before scheduling because their word clearly means nothing.
