They left no mess behind. At no time did I feel like any of these employees were in too much of a rush to do good service. Owner Brandon was present while the work was being done and hands on! The Duramax team came out daily, working around some rain, to replace all rotted plywood, apply an excellent underlayment, and then install the metal roof with continuous vents. Leo was very friendly and was the most responsive person, responding quickly to all of my text messages. I was able to pick not only the color, but also the style roof and was even able to call the metal roof manufacturer with more technical questions on energy savings and the benefit of different styles.

This company was hired to fix the roof on my apartment complex for 5 to 6 weeks the roofers were…read moreplaying loud Banda on the roof even after repeatedly asking them to stop since we work from home. Any time we tried talking to them they shrugged and said they don't speak English. The roofers also were heard while working saying, "fuck it, we'll just leave it as is and see if they notice/say anything" about our roof job. Additionally, they pulled back our entire roof down to the plywood leaving cracks in our ceiling for multiple days and overnight, letting black debris fall inside of our apartments for 2 weeks. This caused stains on our couches, rugs, other furniture, floors, etc. Leo said that the damage isn't their fault because how were they to know the roof was like that? Well you are the roofers. You would think they would have pivoted once they saw this, but no, they left us with open cracks in our ceilings for many days. Additionally, they decided to rip the door off of my AC unit, breaking it for almost 2 weeks, which I was later informed by the heating company that this could have caused it to explode had I not called. The roofers did work right above my outdoor potted plants and didn't cover any of them, so now the pots are filled with sawdust and will die. He said I should just wipe them off, as if the dirt is now not mixed with sawdust. When we brought all of this to Leo's attention he smirked, laughed, and came up with lots of excuses instead of making it right. He asked me if I could "keep on the guys" a about the music playing since they wouldn't listen to him. Huh?? I am not an employee. I felt he was speaking to us that way because we were women and he wasn't taking us seriously. My property management isn't taking responsibility and I can't tell you how many times Leo said "we couldn't have known" about the state of the roof; but my question is, whose responsibility is it then? Obviously Duramax. I have been waiting weeks for this to get resolved outside of filing a claim against their insurance, but now no one will respond to my emails or call me back. Edit to add: the staff dropped debris off the side of the roof on top of my head without looking over the side or caring when I brought it to their attention.

I asked how you can give an accurate estimate of a repair without actually seeing the affected area up close, and the receptionist responded "based on his experience." Meanwhile, the other contractor we had out did go on the roof, took multiple pictures, and gave us a detailed estimate, which was the one we chose. So I can't comment on this company's repair work--could be great--but their estimate process is not thorough, and I can see how it would lead to "surprise" change orders down the line.
