The guy showed up to do some roofing job on my neighbor. He parked in front of my driveway and blocked me inside my own driveway. I asked him politely to move and the old guy behind the wheel (who had the car turned off) asked when I had to leave. I responded that I should be able to leave my driveway whenever I felt like. He rudely refused to move. So I called the cops seeing as how the old guy was aggressive and confrontational. When he saw me dialing the phone he finally moved in pulled into my neighbors driveway (the guy he was going to the job for) and he got off the car and accused ME of "making him do a dangerous maneuver." Excuse me. I just told him to please not block me inside my own driveway. He had SO MUCH space in other parts of the street to park, but this douche decides to park in front of my driveway with the "NO PARKING SIGN" and all. He also accused me of "throwing my authority around" and that he wasn't "parked" he was "sitting." I said "sir, was your car in park? Was the engine turned off? Then you were parked." After that he resorted to CUSS me out. Not very professional to use profane language while on the job, is it? The cops showed up and the guy claimed that I was the jerk and that he wasn't out to "inconvenience" anyone. Well, he inconvenience me a lot. Since he got up to the roof he could actually see inside my house and he would stare and wave at my family. It was very disturbing so I asked the cops to stick around and they did. The guy drove a BLUE DODGE RAM with the company's name engraved on the doors: "Rinkydink Builders" A VERY APPROPRIATE NAME to a company that employs immature employees! read more

We have just completed the third job that Rinkydink Builders has done for us since fall 2012. First up was a set of copper roofs over a pair of new bay window on our granny flat. Mike personally fabricated and installed the panels, integrating them with the old copper flashing. At that time I had him climb up on the composition roof (now 20+ years old) to give me an idea of how much longer it would last. He said we had about 2-3 good years left, barring any unforeseen events. Well, during the following winter one of those "events" took place. A large limb came down from an adjacent redwood tree and buried itself in the roof. After removing it and putting a temporary patch on, I called Mike and said "Guess what"? He guessed correctly! So, in the spring of 2013, Rinkydink put on a new roof for us. And we then got a spring rain to test it out. Water tight! Our third project was to put in a corrugated metal "ceiling" in my "man-cave garage" which is designed to look like a barn inside. Results: Outstanding! Now I have to get to work to finish it up, install cabinets and paint the concrete floor. Then my "toys" move in. Rinkydink did 3 big jobs for us. 1st, they removed all our old siding and installed osb shear panel/moisture barrier and Craneboard solid core vinyl siding/sofits. 2nd, they removed all 13 windows and 2 sliding patio doors and replaced them with Amerimax windows and doors. 3rd, they removed a large entry door and 2 other entry doors and replaced them with Masonite doors we had purchased from Home Depot. Additionally, they installed new baseboards and crown molding in our living room, family room, hall and entryway. All of this within a little over 1 month. Their workmanship and work ethic was excellant. They were friendly and very helpful at all times. Reasonable pricing too. They did not try to rip us off like another contractor did with a proposal for the same work. We highly recommend them and we will be using them again but not until we recover from this project!! Our home is the 6th home Rinkydink Builders has worked on in our cul-de-sac. They were highly recommended by all of these neighbors. We are very pleased with the work to the exterior of our house completed by Rinkydink Builders. They replaced siding on 3 of the 4 sides of our home, replaced a large beam and columns on our front porch that had dry rot, and constructed some minor changes to the front of the house that give it a new look. Rinkydink recently finished a siding/windows/gutters project for us that totally transformed our old home. Everything looked so great we kept them on for new doors, back porch replacement, and to build us a new driveway gate. I requested estimates for cement board siding for my 1800 sq. ft. ranch-style house from 5 contractors. Rinkydink Builders' estimate was in a reasonable range, and they were willing to do the job within my time frame. They did an excellent job (my house painters, who are working now, tell me that the siding job is first class) and were considerate of my needing to get into and out of my garage and of cleaning up after themselves each day. They also rebuilt my front porch and steps, using redwood, and it looks great! I would definitely recommend them and will use them again if the need arises. read more

Rinkydink Builders just completed a beautiful metal roof on my house. The top layer of the metal was designed to age and it is already starting to look vintage which matches the style of the house nicely. Mike, the owner is honest and personable. Marcos, John and Miguel did fine workmanship on the roof right down to the cricket and metal flashing around two old fieldstone chimneys. They were quiet and respectful while working at my place and even helped tow me out of a predicament I got my truck into one day. Very nice people to work with. read more

Rinkydink is right. Avoid! Run, don't walk! New windows for my house...I am still picking broken glass out of the carpet. Promised two days...still not done after a week and demanding payment. Workers tracking mud into my house and smoking after I asked them not to. The windows are nice. Damaged the window frame in the bathroom - I will hire another contractor to repair it. read more

Recently had them remove old roof, two layers, and install a new cool roof. Also installed vinyl soffits to match my existing siding. They did the work when it was very, very hot weather! They did a great job, cleaned up everything nicely and did not damage any landscaping when the old roof came down. I would not hesitate to use their company in the future if needed. read more
