This place was filthy. The floor was littered with discarded items and the ladies' dressing room was overflowing with clothes that needed to be put away. One of the rooms had been used as a rest room, apparently. I spoke to the manager and she kept saying, "I completely understand" but apparently she didn't understand enough to do something about it. Spent some time in TJ Maxx and Sierra yesterday... TJ Maxx has a huge selection of women's and much smaller group of men's options. Sierra, on the other hand seemed to have more for men, which I appreciated. The prices are seriously great here...The suggested price of say $50 would be sold at FULL PRICE at outdoor gear exchange, but you can buy it here for around $25. I stop at least twice a year and always find a great deal or two or three. read more

Never shopping here again. I bought a jacket for my boyfriend and came to return it because it didn't fit, and they wouldn't give me my money back because I bought it 33 days ago and their return policy is 30 days. It wasn't a cheap coat either, I'm not arguing about 20 bucks. It was well over $100. They didn't work with me at all, just shrugged their shoulders and told me to have a nice day. 3 days over. Not 3 weeks. 3 days. They told me they would give me store credit, so basically they still get to keep my money? That's absolutely ridiculous. This is how you loose customers and believe me, I'll go out of my way to tell people not to go there. I'd love to go to locally owned sporting goods stores anyway than these huge companies that just take your money and don't care about actual people. read more

Okay, I agree with others that selection here is nowhere as comprehensive as it is online. How could it be? They'd need an airline hanger to fit it all. In fact, I bet this brick-and-mortar has 5% of the items.... if that. However, I use this store as an extension of my internet shopping. I find an item I like, enter the promo code from Deal Flyer, always get $0 shipping to the store, if I like it, great, if I don't like it, return it on the spot. You can also check a box on the site to only search items at the Burlington store. Select the items you want, apply discounts, and head to the store a few hours later... all the browsing can be done from the comfort of your own desk while they fulfill your order. Everyone there is nice. The store is clean and well lit. The dressing rooms are great. I wouldn't rate five stars as a stand-alone store... but it fits my purposes perfectly. read more

To be fair, this review is about the Burlington Location, not the chain. I would think that if you were interested in opening an Outdoor Gear business in the greater Burlington area, you would do some intense research about what is already available and what you are bringing to the table. Sierra Trading Post has been known for quite some time as being a place to find a decent bargain on outdoor goods (soft and hard) with a large selection. Sadly, this location offers little to none of the pleasure you can find shopping on their online store. I found that the selection was nothing special; lots of North Face and Columbia. There were 2 very small clearance racks that didn't provide much in terms of variety. The store was clean and spacious. There were little to no hard goods to be found (skis, bikes, etc) and the shoe selection was definitely lacking. Think; outdoor TJ Maxx (which makes sense as they are owned by the same parent company). A lackluster shopping experience that I am not going to repeat. Skip STP. Head to the Outdoor Gear Exchange on Church Street or The Alpine Shop on Williston road. Better selection and much better service. read more

One of my favorite spot to go to find clothes and gear at a bargain! Sierra trading post is owned by TJ Maxx next door. They have some of the same clothes but at a lower price than the tjmaxx next door. The workers are friendly. The online retail has a much better selection than the in store. They have clothes, home decorations, outdoor gears and shoes here! Great place to visit if you don't mind a little digging! read more

The management team at this location is something awful. I have called 5 times in the last two days asking to speak to a manager or assistant manager and I've been placed on hold for over 4 minutes each time and every single time I get hung up on then when calling back I get interrogated by whomever is answering the phone asking who's calling and the purpose of the call. Obviously the manager has better things to do then deal with customers needs. I will be reporting to corporate to see if I can get my issue resolved at that level. read more

Hands down, one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had in my life! I was in-between appointments on 7.20.18 and had a few minutes to run into the store to purchase a new belt. After passing 2-3 employee's, who did not offer any help, I eventually found the belts at the back of the store. Unfortunately the belts I wanted did not have any price tag on them and one sales woman tried in vain to get a price, but was unable to retrieve it. At that point she brought me to the front of the store to speak with the manager, who grilled me on the location of the belts and walked away bringing 2-3 other sales associates into the discussion about the missing price tag. This discussion lasted a few minutes with no resolution. Because I was already late for my appointment by now, I asked the manager to pick a price so I could pay for the item and leave the store and snarled "its not as easy as that". At that point I politely said "I'm good" and left the store without making a purchase and 10 minutes late for my appointment. Unfortunately, Sierra Trading Post lost a customer due to their poor customer service. Next time, I will travel into Burlington, where there is no parking, and shop at a competitors store. read more

I received a gift card for a birthday gift and thought I would stop by today. I think there were at least five associates on the floor and none acknowledged me nor what I could see any one else coming in. I don't mean they didn't coming running when I entered the store, I am talking just common customer service and decency. I had one guy standing right next to me as I was looking for something and didn't say even a hello or is there something I can help you find. They all walk around like they hate their job, hate each other or just totally lack customer service skills. Once I got in line at the register (the cashier was nice) but she was working alone up there while the rest were just walking around and a line had formed. One short/stocky person with short black hair was just standing there breathing near the checkout, possibly waiting for the clock to strike "quitting time" instead of helping a workmate. I don't know who the manager is but I can't believe he/she is on when this stuff is taking place. If the doors close, it's not the merchandise, prices, or great brands, it's the customer service without a doubt. read more

This store is TERRIBLE!! I had a item mailed to the store to try & save on the mailing costs. They actually have a sign at the end of the store that states " Item Pick Up" . After looking for a sales associate I was told to wait under the sign. There is a large shoe rack under the sign. ANYWAY, after waiting for 22 minutes, I went back up front to ask what the hold up was and AGAIN....was told to wait under this magic sign. LONG story short. I have been buying from this company since they had the Black & White clothing catalogue's that were hand drawn !!! 15 + years AT LEAST !!! The problem is they have to turn over the merchandise with FRESH things every once in a while THEN, I wouldn't say the associates suck ...there just are not enough to go around. ONE LAST THING.....move the magic sign that is above the shoe rack!!! read more
