"Tailor" of amazing service and gratitude…read more Had out of State services to attend for my Uncle. Of course I waited to pack and it's been a while since I needed to suit up. I went to my collection of jackets from over the years the night before which has grown in numbers as my sizes have changed. The next morning (same day leaving to Latham NY. At 1PM) I had to scramble to try and get a suit jacket that would fit. This wouldn't be an easy task as I assumed nothing off the rack would fit. Went to Mens Warehouse in Williston VT. About 11:30 AM and was assisted by Daryl the new store Manager. He was professional understanding of my dilemma and jumped into action. When we dialed in the best possible fit off the rack in a nice black jacket I asked about tailoring the cuffs and asked if it was possible on the spot. He mentioned he didn't currently have a tailor in store but also mentioned his prior location was in Clifton Park NY. (15 mins from where the service was.) Daryl placed a call to his prior location and coordinated an appointment for 4PM for me same day. Fast forward I arrived in the Clifton Park Mens Wearhouse location, suit in hand at 4PM. The tailor Oksana had me dialed in and out the door in 30 mins. She even steamed my shirt to make sure I was good to go. I couldn't have been treated better. Went straight to the wake and was pleased to share the days events with family members at dinner afterwards. They were left in disbelief the level of care, customer service and amazing outside the box thinking helped make my unrealistic goal a reality. Sections were clearly marked for men, women, kids, home decor, jewelry and others. There were plenty of sale on bunch of stuffs, ranging up to 70%. I found some really good Adidas shoes at a discount. Men's section also had good clothing selection. My daughter bought a toy as well. Their toy section had lots of good options, also at a decent price. Their toy section jewelry and watch sections were disappointing, didn't have much variety or good quality items. I go back to the store 2 days later to exchange for a diff size when I realize there is also a rip in the leg. Like someone cut them while opening the box of clothes. They denied an exchange because a brand new pair of $100+ jeans were already ripped. Not worn, not washed, not unfolded. When you have garbage quality control I think you should keep your mouth shut and eat in and not pin it on a customer who spends thousands a year there on his family at your store. I got the impression that they were too self absorbed in their ''deep conversations" with each other that none could be bothered to stop leaning on the counter and actually acknowledge my presence in their store. I have also heard a lot of complaints about Lennie's return and exchange policies. Recently, a new store called Boot Barn opened in the Williston Marketplace in the old Christmas Tree Shop location right next to Best Buy and easy walking distance to Dick's Sporting Goods, Starbucks, Chili's and Longhorn restaurants. The Boot Barn carries items similar to Lennie's, but they have a far better selection, the store is much nicer, plus the staff is super nice. It's my new favorite work wear store. If you want to feel good about yourself, try Boot Barn instead of being ignored at Lennie's.

Liebling is my favorite clothing shop in Burlington. I don't have many pieces from the shop…read morebecause the clothing isn't exactly Vermont-esque and it can be expensive. That being said, if I were still living in a city, I would dress from head to toe in Liebling-style garb. Vermonter Kara Alnasrawi opened Liebling a few years ago. Kara is an ex investment banker who met her husband in Germany (thus the name of the shop). She saw a gap in women's fashion offerings in Burlington and decided to open a clothing shop with items she would wear. I'm so glad she did, because I share her taste in fashion. The brands Liebling carries have clean, simple lines, are made of high-end materials and indeed offer "casual luxury" like it states on the store's website. Sweaters are cashmere, denim is Japanese, shirts are made of silk or fine brushed cotton. The cut of the clothing is flattering but understated. I'm a big fan. Still, in a state where 90% of the inhabitants shop at TJ Maxx and similar bargain stores, I wonder how this shop stays afloat. Regardless, I'm so glad it's here to remind me of other places and lifestyles. Designers include Helmut Lang, Rag & Bone, ALC, Raquel Allegra, Mother Denim, NSF, Goldsign, Inhabit, etc. And the store is now carrying Isabel Borland Jewelry. I went to college with Isabel and I love her aesthetic!!!! I'm so pleased Liebling is carrying her. Her jewelry complements the clothing perfectly. The few other women's shops in town that compare to Lieblling are Monelle (Nantucket-style clothing, lots of whites and navies, stripes, nautical cuts, cotton, linens, and some fancy dresses. Casual elegance); Whim (a bit more trendy, less classic than Monelle, less luxurious than Liebling. More in lines with Ecco); Ecco (trendy mid-range brands) and Jess Boutique (hard to describe, more flowy and mature with prints, not my bag but a lot of people love this shop). The only men's shop that is comparable in the Burlington area is Michael Kehoe. Burlington isn't exactly the fashion capital of the northeast. ;)
