I ordered from Monelle and reached out regarding a return- they didn't even have the decency to get back to me..Even if they didn't accept returns they could've at least let me know that.. I also sent such a nice e-mail so there was really no reason for it. I personally wouldn't shop there again just based on their customer service.. no way to run a business, at least respond to your customers. read more

The review below mine says that the clothes are not priced above what you would find at Nordstrom or J.Crew. While this is slightly true, it's important to look at the quality of the clothes at Monelle. Sure, the clothes are cute and preppy, but take a closer look at the condition that they are in. Many of the clothes have pulls or stains on them. Some of them are missing sequins or beading. Also, the sales staff are usually quite cold, unsure of their products, and are sometimes having conversations I wish I wasn't hearing. This store tries very hard to be a classy boutique, but it really does just fall short. So sure, the prices are "around" what you'd find at Nordies or J.Crew, but you will find far better clothes in far better condition with far better service at those stores, not Monelle. read more

I love this place. The owner is very sweet and so are the girls who work there. They take the time to know my taste and sizing and they never try to oversell me anything or try to sell me stuff that's not me. Unfortunately for my wallet, though, almost everything is beautiful! They sell the beautiful POM hats that everyone loves, from pre-teens to older women. Their winter accessories right now are amazing: downjackets, ski coats, scarfs, iphone/smartphone compatible gloves, beaded suede mittens, fur hats!! I think it's highly unfair that the average star rating for this store is dragged down by anti-fur people; they don't shop at the store and they can have their opinion, but don't rate this store a one star just for that. There are stores I shop at that sell Crocs but I don't downgrade stars for that. There are a mix of different price points, and there's always a lot of sales items and new items in stock. It's a very preppy and pretty selection; they have trendy stuff but that's not really what most of the clientele (myself included) look for. A lot of Susanna Monaco, Amanda Uprichard, Yumi Kim, palm beach sandals, vineyard vines...midscale prices. Great cocktail dresses, jeans, cute shoes, and OMG the ACCESSORIES!!!! Personally, I prefer to go to this store more than Ecco. It's a more intimate and inviting store and the girls who work here are way nicer. Ecco has a certain look that they try to convey, and it's just not my style. read more

It's definitely preppy, but a nice store to browse through. They carried quite a few Kate Spade items, B-Low The Belt belts, and some Yumi Kim dresses. A good selection for the most part. Very few items on sale though. When I read some reviews talking about poor quality I was a little hesitant, but from what I saw in the store things were fine overall. I didn't buy anything though so I'm not sure how the garments hold up after washing. The sales staff didn't utter a word to me and were more interested in chatting among themselves. C'mon guys, even if you're students, this is a job after all. The clothes are nothing you can't find online though, and a lot of them you'd likely be able to find on sale to boot. More like a window-shopping destination and a nice place to try on the clothes and see them in person, but the high markup (definitely do a price check online) and cold service is a turn-off when it comes to actually purchasing. read more

The owner and staff have curated so many amazing brands and looks that this is a shopping experience to relish. A great place for shopping therapy to turn your day around. The owner is awesome and has great taste. I recently received a package from Monelle and LOVE the quality and selection of goodies, clothes and accessories that are carried in the store. Glad that Monelle has high standards for the items they carry and can't wait to visit when I'm in VT! And for the anti-fur comments: I personally, refuse to wear faux fur and can't stand the price tags on faux fur items. Visiting friends in Burlington from London brought me to Monelle and I think I visited this store every day. Price is on point for the quality of clothes, and as for the negative comments on here about fur. Who wants to buy faux?! LOVE LOVE LOVE this classy boutique which coupled with friendly and most importantly helpful staff makes it a true gem of a find. The worst, least knowledgeable sales associates I have ever encountered. Rude and clueless. They know disturbingly little about the actual clothing in their store and every experience I have in this store is worse than the last. To the girls' credit, this is a college town and it's possible they're just young students and trying to make a quick dollar and this store is admittedly a step up from working at the Sox Market. As a teen, I'd go into Monelle practically drooling and daydreaming about all the preppy/ classic beautiful high quality fashion pieces that would one day be part of my closet. Monelle has the best sales on sales! You just have to follow them on their social media to stay in the loop! ;) Yes they have incredibly breathtakingly beautiful high quality pieces that are "expensive" but if you think about it the more "expensive" items are cashmere, designer jeans, fashion parkas/ jackets, LILLY, gowns & kate spade/ Gigi bags. All items that are expected to be higher quality and more costly. This is when you make a decision to "TREAT YO SELF" or wait until their killer sales to "TREAT YO SELF" either decision is equally awesome! I have never come across items that are pilling, pulling or notice any items with sequins falling off. Monelle isn't for everyone. That's ok! If you'd rather find items on Nordstorm or Jcrew then that is perfectly fine! Do what's best for you! But man spread the love/support and not hate/rude comments! Give Monelle another chance! I have pretty picky taste, however, I was pleasantly surprised by Monelle's selection (had all my favorite brands)! I came up to Burlington for a girl's retreat and had heard about Monelle from friends back in the city. We stopped in and stayed for about an hour and a half to shop. The staff was super helpful and candid (which is hard to come by). Additionally, the selection was great and diverse (ranging in styles, prices and sizes) so I was able to get a number of awesome pieces. I would love to have a boutique like this near me, but I will definitely be placing some orders until I can return! Can't wait to go back for my spring wardrobe! OH and their Instagram is SO cute! Owner was rude and insulting. Prom dress shopping...found one my daughter liked and it fit well but zipper was sewn incorrectly. Owners response "you have a wide seat need bigger size". We tried to show her zipper issue as did the other nice sales lady but she continued to say, well you have a wide seat! Won't be stepping foot in that store again read more

The product selection is amazing (and ever changing!), and the prices are reasonable for the great quality--especially the accessories! The sales girls are super helpful and have great taste. The window displays for this store always lure me in, and being a fan of the preppy/sparkly side of fashion, it further appeals. As far as product selection goes, Monelle carries some great brands, and I like how things are usually set up in little collections or very coordinated on the dresser displays. The accessories always get me! Absolutely adorable and fun. I just wish it wasn't so expensive, and the size selection is very limited, though most of the clothing brands carried are known for being on the smaller side. My biggest problem is with the staff here. I wish they would stop being so chatty among themselves and at least pretend to want to be helpful or even just interact with their customers. I stop in all of the time and very rarely get a greeting, if anything just those looks that make you feel paranoid that you're being judged. Come on, guys! This store has great potential. For now I'll stick to spending my money for fashions in this style online. Hopefully that will change in the future if the staff can wise up. read more

As far as preppy women's boutiques in Burlington go, this place is superlative. To me, it's the best bar none. Cheerful, preppy clothes, accesories, shoes, and jewelry abound. I agree with others that sometimes the staff is a tad chatty amongst themselves, but I asked for help and advice and received it in (bubbly) spades. This place is charming and well curated. this is an update to the 4 star review I left in march. I didn't happen to wear the hot pink susana monaco maxi dress I purchased then until june, and when I did it bled color all over me! I washed it hoping it would fix the problem, but when it dried it became clear that the dress had bled color all over itself, leaving weird purplish streaks everywhere. I brought it into monelle and talked to one of the sales girls about it, she took some pictures and promised to be in touch with susana monaco about it. fast forward 3 weeks and I get a call back saying susana monaco had no known bleeding issues, and too bad for me basically. No apology, no trying to fix the problem. I'm sorry but that is pretty shitty customer service! I try to shop local as much as possible, even though it is usually more expensive because I like supporting local businesses. If this is how I'm going to be treated I'll just shop online at Nordstoms or Bloomingdales, where if I buy something with a manufacturing defect I will be able to return it instead of being told I'm shit out of luck ( and $198) read more
