New to Burlington so I came by from the recommendation of a friend to stock up on winter clothes and prepare myself for the notorious Vermont winter. I had carts full of clothes options and I even found a great winter jacket. I was definitely impressed by how well organized and clearly displayed all the clothes were. Everything was neatly sorted on hangers by style, size, and color. The staff is constantly moving around, returning clothes to the racks and making sure the place stays orderly. Found lots of good quality hand me downs, some even with the tags and most were decent brands. One really cool thing about this location is they offer a rewards card. For $10 you get a year membership and save 10% every time you shop. There's also an added discount on Wednesdays and the week of your birthday. this place is awful!!! rude supervisors and managers. I hear how they treat their employees and especially the ones with disabilities. They also ask customers if they want to donate for veterans, yet nothing goes to veterans, it goes back in corporates pocket. I have heard managers tell employees to put stained clothes and ones with tears on the rack and sell them even though they should be trashed!!!! Prices are much higher than retail. Not a thrift store. Beware of prices. Look up everything before you purchase! Today a vase in the front case was marked $200. Same exact vase on Etsy $150. Ebay even cheaper. Don't donate to this store. The items do not stay in the community for sale. Goodwill packs a trailer truck and ships the nicer items out of State! read more

I visited this location to make a donation after cleaning out a house I had inherited. I live in an area where there are numerous GW's and I have donated and or shopped many of them. Never an issue or any problem. When I arrived here it's the same as others get in the line and wait. Well, this was where the similarities ended. I was waved in, told to stop. As I stepped out a second person scolded me to "Pull up! Others need to get in!". I apologized and did as I was told. I begin by unloading the bags of clothes....which is the same any other. Toss them into a bin. Well, it quickly went down hill after that. I grabbed a box of kitchen stuff and dropped it in a bin. In my local ones we drop and go and the employees sort. The clerk again scolded me...."You have to sort it out!!". It was hard to know that was the way to do it, because their paper signs are curled and crumpled. So okay, I start separating. A pot was old and was missing some of the non-stick coating...."we can't sell that" I was told. Okay, I said I understand. Then I am scolded again, because I didn't have pots for the glass lids...."we can't sell just the lids!!" I said, "I think the pots are in another box, I separated them so they wouldn't get broken". "Well, until you find the pots keep them lids out of the bins". As I opened a second box that had utensils (all metal or wood) I started putting them in the bin. There was a carving knife and as I was beginning to ask "Where would you...." the clerk yells! "THAT'S SHARP! DON'T PUT THAT IN THERE!!" At this point I was through. I literally just threw the remaining 3 boxes back into the bed of the truck and told them "This is place bullsh*t...I will just throw it all in a dumpster. Sad, you can't use any of this." I know most of the employees are in way or another special needs, but maybe not having ones with anger issues as your drop-off clerks is a better way to go?? read more

Goodwill refused to take items unless we waited in the car line. Worker was rude and turned her back on a donation. Unbelievable

I have seen a lot of goodwill's across the West Coast and around the US. And I can say that I have never I mean never seen a goodwill that had is few things as this one did. No Joe, there was five purses on the rack! Everything was junk. I literally walked in and out in seven minutes. This is from somebody that spends a minimum of an hour and a half in a goodwill. I would never come back to this place and I recommend you don't bother. read more

High prices for donated goods. Find a cheaper warehouse and lower your prices on a regular basis and have half off on the whole place often.

This Goodwill store is super nice! Prices are fair and they have a lot of new products that have not been used. The staff was extremely friendly! Highly Recommend!!! read more

This is one of two Goodwills around the Burlington area. I don't frequent it often but if I am going thrifting it is one of my go-tos! It is a large sized store with a lot of loot. The racks are all organize by color an type of clothing so you really have to be dedicated to looking through everything. On the bright side it's great shopping therapy as everything is very much affordable. I am giving it only three stars as it is a weekend and even though the store is fairly busy they only have one register open. The line is taking forever. read more

went to drop off some donations and they weren't open. all nice shoes in good condition because I wanted to give them to someone in need. A man walked over and asked if he could help as they were not currently open. I said yes could you take these in for me. He stated no there's no one inside right now. I said well you are going in can you take them then. He said no we open at 10. I said that's a shame they are going to get thrown out then because I there's no drop box. He just said ok have a good day. I said not a good job of helping out people since you are going in. He then told me to leave and never come back. I asked for his name so I could contact his supervisor. He said he is the supervisor. I asked his name again and he said if you leave right now I won't press a trespassing order against you. I asked his name again and he said "God", and walked in the store. Not very helpful at all and very rude. if you are trying to help out people less fortunate I suggest donating somewhere else. read more

Drop off at this Goodwill sucks. They've turned me away during open hours, after I rented a truck to donate some furniture. Also, their selection is garbage. This is quite possibly the best Goodwill store I have EVER been to. It's clean and organized and have friendly staff. I never feel like I have a layer of dust and dirt all over me when I leave. Definitely a plus! I think the best part about this particular Goodwill is that they seem to have brand new items (with tags) that are made specifically for Goodwill. I've never seen any other Goodwill with brand new items. For instance, the last two Thanksgiving weekends I have stopped here to do some shopping on my way home from visiting family, and they have shelves full of brand new boots, gloves, hats, etc, for sale. I've bought a pair of Goodwill boots two years in a row and they always last well into the next winter season. I usually end up finding at least one vintage-y clothing item on each visit, as well. Definitely worth a look! read more

This store will take anything! I always find items that should not be sold. Such as clothing with rips, stains, holes, and unwearable. $10 for a ripped sweater with stains. Kids run all over the place at this location-not my most favorite location. read more

Rude . Picking a fight with people trying to drop off stuff ... goodwill better think of who they have working for them the man with the cowboy hat was rude , picking fight with me ... the donations line to drop off was out in the main road on Shelburne rd very unsafe and a accident was going to happen. I will not go donate in the future. When people are trying to give donations and are being treated awful by being yelled at and getting threatened by workers to fight this really makes the Goodwill look bad. read more

Most thrift stores in college towns are really picked over, and this goodwill fit the bill as well. I was hoping since we were a bit further away from UVM that wouldn't be the case with here, but it was. We did have fun with the rollerblades, but unfortunately we did not purchase them. read more

This is the pickiest Goodwill I've ever attempted to donate to. Look, I get that they can't use some stuff -- I don't blame them for not wanting to be in the mattress business. But I'm not trying to bring broken, dirty trash, I'm trying to bring clean, sturdy, relatively-new and working items because I don't need them anymore, and would rather they find new owners who can use them rather than have them end up in a landfill. And it takes considerable effort to make the attempt -- I live an hour away. And yet of the three times I've brought items that, as far as I could tell, were good, useful items, I've been sent away with half my stuff still in the trunk after repeated rounds of, "yeah, we don't take that." And, okay. That's fine, I'm not going to hand them the obligation of taking stuff from me whether they want it or not. But last time (after I again failed to donate items) I asked, "is there somewhere where I can find a list of stuff you don't take?" and was told, "check the website." If it's on the website, it's buried so deep that I can't find it. And, I'm just saying, I've never had this problem at other Goodwill stores. This is the best Goodwill Store we have in the state. Not only is it spangly new and clean, but the clothes are really well organized and they have a better than average selection of plus sized clothes. There's always a ton of everything and I always walk away from this store excited that I found something I love. The staff are really friendly and if you get the discount card, you save even more off their already crazy low prices. You will not be disappointed! read more

Had a fun time here with my friend looking for sweaters a few weeks ago. Large space, friendly staff. Some interesting finds. I often forget about this place when I need specialty clothing (such as an ugly sweater for a holiday party), but this would certainly be the first place to hit. Large, organized, easy to navigate, and well-stocked. My first trip here last week, I found 4 supremely cute sweaters/cardigans for about $18 all together! On my second trip a few days later, I got a filing cabinet, dustpan and broom, funny mug and shotglass, and a couple of other treasures. This is a really big, brand spankin new store. There are shelves and shelves of books and cups and lost of other things. Cheap, cheap books! No student discount at this store for now, but who knows maybe they will add it later. Not bad, a ton of clothes here, mostly womens, but some mens & several racks of childrens as well. Clothes organized by size (at least the shirts were, not sure about the rest), which is great. Has the usual offerings, CDs, housewares, lots of shoes. Didn't have what I wanted (a Men's zip up sweatshirt) though so didn't stick around for too long. Plenty of parking & public bathrooms, which are both pluses. read more

I went to drop off some bags of donations last night, and I pull up and this guy comes out and says "hello, Can I help you?!" Kind of sounded annoyed that I was dropping stuff off. I said "Yes, are you still taking donations tonight?" And he said "Yeah?!" Like in a "duh" tone. He made me feel stupid and embarrassed for being there. Huge, freshly-renovated building splashed with a refreshing light green on the walls - this place sucks you in. My boyfriend and I have found TONS of great deals here: suits for $4.99, a sturdy couch for $20, designer clothes for $2.50, brand new Dankso clogs for $7, 98-cent jewelry, books, home goods, formal gowns - how can you go wrong? This place is not child friendly. This toy section is in the same aisle as the ceramic dishes. Today we went and my son was pushing a wooden toy around that we were going to buy. We were told it was too loud and had to stop him. Then my children were quietly looking at a game siting on a low table because the other part of the toy section is in the furniture section and a cashier exclaimed "where are the parents!" we were right there next to our kids! She then spoke to us in a demeaning tone that the kids could not be on the table. She didn't have to talk to us in that way. After that the male manager kept roaming the aisle while I breastfed my son. I never saw him roam in front of me until I nursed my son - he kept making his rounds in back and forth. I felt that this was a bit harassing. This place usually is a nice atmosphere for a family with young ones looking for a bargain. I am saddened by the way we were treated today.
