We were doing a road trip from Niagara Falls to Saratoga Springs to visit my hubbies brother. We stopped in Canada too. I wanted to put a gift basket together for his brother and wife on our arrival for 2 nights. I just knew TJ's would have a basket for me to accomplish this. I like to get to bottles of wine, one red, one white and some chocolates and other goodies to fit in. I also knew they would have the filling or tissue paper to put it all together. This has to be my favorite all time store and it's just so fun to go in new towns especially in Burlington, Vermont. Home of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. This was an interesting spot because home goods was a separate space and the regular clothing store was a building right next store which made them both massive. There are plenty of options and the prices are great. Great choices here. Good location. I always find good deals and cute items.

This is a huge TJM store with large collection of clothes, shoes, home goods, kids apparel and toys. The store is mostly clean and tidy. The jewelry, watch and handbag sections didn't have much inventory or good choices. Still it is very popular among locals. I saw lots people in the store, at one point there were more than 10 customers waiting in checkout lane. Throughout the store prices were excellent. We got a princess doll with unicorn for only $9. Rest of items I checked also had decent discounted price. For checkout we got lucky, there wasn't any line. It was quick and easy, associate was friendly and helpful at the register. read more

I almost never go to TJ Maxx for anything but my husband decided to stop by when we are visiting Burlington VT. Honestly I'm impressed. They have big collections of clothing shoes toys and home goods. Most of them are in discount price. We got kids socks and doll/unicorn toy. The quality was actually good. Nothing has fallen apart yet. Barely any wait at the check out line. Many register counters are open. The staff were friendly. Good place to get day-to-day merchandise. read more

I stumbled across this TJs recently. It's a large store next to a Home Goods, not connected. Very busy store. It has a huge children's section, biggest I've seen. The women's clothing section was ok, but a little disorganized. Easy parking. 3 stars for this large chain. I default chains to 3 stars as they must be A-OK to expand as they have. read more

Had a large online return and waited patiently for the lovely, young sales associate to get help from her "coordinator" on duty. The coordinator was extremely rude, disrespectful, and embarrassing towards myself and the young associate who was learning. The coordinator did not know how to process the return and sought help from the manager. The coordinator also took the opportunity to then embarrass the manager so she walked away. I kept saying that's not my whole return. All items still had tags, I had the receipts, she told me everything was corrected and save my receipts as she sticky notes items, throwing them all over the cash area in piles that she could not even sort out. They shorted me $800!!!! And online is ignoring me saying the manager denies and won't confirm the return. Absolutely horrible customer service!!!! Horrible!!!! read more

When ever I need to go shopping I always make TJ maxx my first stop! I love the variety and the uniqueness of some of the clothing items. I like that there are racks upon racks and that you really have to search through to discover goodies! I do want to point out that this place can be very packed during the weekend. We even get people who drive down from Quebec just to shop here! So if you don't like body contact- consider visiting during a weekday. read more

Not a bad store at all. It seems like they moved half of the stock to the front where it creates a maze patrons must navigate to get to the registers. I get the concept of impulse buying but this entire store is based on impulse buying. People come here hoping to find a good deal on something and rarely is it anything specific. I like the kitchen section. I'm not sure if the merchandise is actually any cheaper but it's what brings me into the store. I like to think I'm getting a good deal and that's enough to make people happy when they leave. read more

Another fabulous TJ Maxx. I was in desperate need of picking up some comfortable flats earlier today after ravaging my poor heels in an unbroken pair of new boots. Close in proximity to our hotel, we took a spin up the street where I promptly found fab Chinese Laundry flats for a mere nineteen bucks and Juicy socks for six. Shazam. Unlike the locations I'm used to back in RI/MA, their handbag selection is well kept and organized while they have ample, well stocked shelves of various perfume and soap products. A Kate Spade candle for twenty bucks?! So there. Unfortunately they've skimmed on the cosmetics and jewelry a bit not leaving much in the designer sections to scream for. Oddly enough they had a huge area for.. socks. For real. Just about every material, brand, design and style you can shake a cat at. I couldn't help but grab a few pairs and make a run for the border. Should Canadian customs find me, at least I have my cute little flower patterned Juicy socks to keep my stay in the county jail comfortable and warm. Definitely one of the nicer locations but don't expect to find Marc Jacobs or COACH make an appearance. (Some locations do carry these.) read more

I was just snapped at by a cashier for inquiring (politely) whether any of the registers were free. I'm accustomed to people working in retail being polite and solicitous when I shop. I was taken aback. This guy was clearly a disgruntled employee having a stressful moment or a bad day but, come on, don't take your issues out on your customers. Management would do you well to address the root of the problem and to figure out what they need to do to make their employees feel valued and, by extension, happier. read more

I never write reviews for bad experiences I have shopping, but today while shopping at TJ Maxx in Burlington I had one of the worst shopping experiences. I should state first that I use to work here up until a few months ago, but gave notice when I received a full time position elsewhere. Today I was in TJ Maxx with my 9 month old dog to find an outfit for a concert I'm going to tonight. As I walked through the store people smiled when they saw my dog, I talked to some of the employees I made friends with while I was there, and I found some things to try on. Two women, who both had dogs, one in a cart, were approaching me and one asked if it was okay for her dog to come to my dog, I said "of course, he's very friendly and loves other dogs". Both of their dogs small dogs, and mine 50lbs, he didn't jump or try to lunge at the little dog. Then the dog in the cart starting barking, which then prompted the other little dog to bark, and then my dog started barking. My dog has a louder bark and I realized I needed to defuse the situation so I started to back away with my dog. That's when one of the store managers, Dan, came up to me pointing towards to door saying" you need to get that dog out of here! He can't be barking in here! Get him out of here you know the rules!" I was so stunned, I actually didn't know that was a "rule" and even so, you don't talk to customers like that, even if I had worked there before. I brought my dog out to the car and rolled all the windows down and went back in to talk to Ted Manning, the store manager. I said I just had an unpleasant experience and explained it all to him and said I put my dog in the car but I just wanted to tell him this and that I'm not even going to keep shopping. He then said "yes Dan just told me what happened. Make sure you don't leave your dog in the car it's hot out." Are you kidding me! It's 65 degrees out, windy and I have all the windows down in my car, I don't need you to tell me how to care for my dog, instead you should teach your employees the value of good customer service. Then a customer who I hadn't even seen was walking by and said "she's right, I saw the whole thing" I wish I had gone up to her after and thanked her, because at least she was able to see the rude experience I had. Even the two ladies with the small dogs that did the barking apologized to me! I started doubting myself as a dog owner, thinking he's bad for barking, but you know for 1. He's still a puppy, he's going to bark, and 2. The 2 other dogs instigated the situation, yet Dan stormed up to me, arm in the air, demanding I leave. Is it because my dog is bigger? Because none of this makes sense to me. Not only did he prevent me from shopping and finding an outfit for my fun night, but he made me doubt myself as a dog owner. I am so angry. read more
