It's weird bc before I even started this review, it had on here that I had started the review and…read moreonly gave this place 3 stars. I hadn't started anything and sure as hell didn't give it just 3 stars! That being said, let us begin! Downtown Burlington! What a very unique, wonderful little area. Full of restaurants, name brand stores, bars, quaint little shops like this one, a wide open area lined with stores that gives off very Ithaca Commons vibes. The Commons back in the day were the shiiiiiiiit! Sadly nowadays...it's too commercialized. Burlington, VT tho...not so much. Sure they have a Patagonia store and some other bougie ass stores, but it still has that super chill vibe which made me happy. One bad thing...LOTS of homeless! LOTS! I get they are homeless, but wow! For a tiny city like Burlington...it's kinda mind blowing how many homeless they have all over the downtown area. Does that take away some of the magic that is..Burlington? Sure! Maybe a little! Then you come across adorable little stores like Home & Garden Vermont. What a (and I never use this word .. like ever lol but..) what a charming little store. Little bit of everything in there. It's the type of store that tourists absolutely love. Even the high prices don't seem to phase most tourists...then there is me haha! I'm cheap af. So appreciating these types of stores is more my cup of tea lol. Although, I came close to buying a few things in these little stores. My brother and I would see something and be like "let's check the others to see if the prices are any cheaper" They. were, not. Haha! If you saw a very cool Stowe or Burlington t-shirt in one store for $33 ... best beweave..it's $33 in the next one. These stores make their money regardless of cheap fks like myself...and I'm glad they do, Stores like Home & Garden Vermont add so much of that amazing magic that is felt throughout the downtown area. The staff is beyond sweet. Very nice lady helped us when we were there. Very bubbly, smiley, just an incredibly nice human. I did go up to her tho and told her that her store gave off Schitts Creek vibes. Yall remember, Rose Apothecary?? For some reason, parts of this store very much made me think of Patrick and David in their little Schitts Creek shop haha. The employee laughed and she said "all we need is David and we'd be set" haha! Rose Apothecary, now that I think of it...a lot of the stores around downtown are quaint like that. However, Home & Garden, I actually felt like it was like..a sister store of Rose Apothecary haha! I loved when David and Patrick opened that store in that series. I love love stores like that. So it was kind of special to walk in to this store and immediately feel that. Even my brother agreed. So I know I'm not like crazy haha. Store is very nice. Nicely laid out. They pay close attention to details in Home & Garden Vermont. They know exactly where to place everything for maximum exposure. Their front windows are even very homey to look at for the "window shoppers" What a great little shop. This was my first time ever in Vermont. I grew up in upstate New York, too! I know this will not be my first and last time in Vermont. Autumn on the east coast is something that is like no other. As a photographer, VT is like a dream come true during Autumn. Point of me saying that is...I know I will be back and I look forward to going to this little store again and all the others around the downtown area. Seeing as my family is still in upstate NY, yeah, I know I'll be back. Home and Gardrn VT...thank you for a very pleasant experience. You certainly will never be forgotten. Thank you to the employee(s) for being so friendly. When they say "shop local" This is a FANTASTIC store to do that at! Doesn't have to just be for tourists! I hope I didn't leave anything out! Go and have a look! You'll love it! Thanks for reading, YelpHomies & YelpGardeners!! Cheers!

Glad I'm finally getting to writing my reviews from the places I check into while in Vermont this…read morepast October. Downtown has many unique, homey, very inviting, little shops. Common Deer happens to be one of them. Probably a nightmare to locals, but a pure dream to any and all tourists! I saw nightmare to locals bc locals complain constantly about the types of little stores that are all over their downtown areas. We have quite a few here in downtown Boise. Locals complain constantly about the tourists. Funny how locals everywhere..whether in Burlington or Boise will complain about tourists all while forgetting how much $$ tourists pump into their economies. I absolutely love supporting little stores like this. Small local shops are the absolute best. Sure, prices will ALWAYS be higher, but chances are you will find something at these stores you'll never find at another. If a touristy item...finding a unique is even better. Common Deer is one of those special places. You will certainly find some incredible little things here, Knick Knacks, souvenirs, maple syrup (now that's plentiful all over Vermont haha), candles, etc . I know, they all sound like things in every store like this. I'd like to think that...yes of course, you'll see some repeat things...especially in VT t-shirts, but each store has something the other doesn't. Common Deer is absolutely worth checking out! If you are visiting Burlington, there's a 99.9999% you will go in. It has a very inviting vibe to it. The outside does a great job...drawing you in. You'll love it! Thanks for reading, YelperCommonerDeers! Cheers!

Has jewelry and lots of locally made crafts. There's also some things like specialty foods and that kind of stuff. A lot of great ideas for gifts. It's particularly a place to go if looking for something local. They sure have lots of that. Handcrafted items. There's even some food like maple syrup and granola, and that kind of stuff. Maybe kind of expensive, but that's to be expected. The whole selection is local. For sure there's a lot to check out in here. It's got plenty for all types of people. They're closed Tuesdays.

The…read moremarketplace is a pedestrian zone that spans a few blocks and is filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. It's very pleasant to stroll along Church Street, especially in the summertime and there are plenty of benches where you can sit and people watch. Church Street Marketplace has a mixture of chain and local stores. You can find everything from used books, to outdoor gear to name brand clothing. My favorite stores at Golden Hour where you can find lots of cute gifts, Smugglers Notch Distillery where you can sample delicious vodka, gin, bourbon, and maple liqueur, and Flora & Fauna - a second floor store filled with curiosities and oddities. Unfortunately, The 10,000 Villages store that I always enjoyed visiting, the Sox Market, and the Earthbound Store that I always found beautiful clothing in have all closed. There's also a great Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop on Church Street, several restaurants in a range of price levels, and some very comfortable cafes. Definitely a place you will want to spend some time visiting when you are in Burlington.

Alongside some of the popular restaurants, they also have iconic Vermont brand stores like Vermont Bear Factory, Vermont Flannel Shop and Ben & Jerry. We also visited a Patagonia store, a bookstore, Catamount store for apparel and gifts, and bunch of other stores. Prices are decent, some stores have sales and discounts. It appeared decently safe, though there were some homeless people around the marketplace. The street parkings need to be paid with ParkMobile app during the posted hours. There are several hotels only few minutes walk from this place. There's also a parking lot nearby that offers 2 hours of free parking.
