We've been going here for about 3 years now. Staff is always very friendly and quick to take care of you. The menu is awesome. Italian beef, monkey fries, chicken wraps, Ruebens, burgers, salmon... so far everything has been delicious. Drinks are excellent. Pricing is very reasonable as well. The restaurant is smaller and parking is not always easy but it's a cozy place that used to be a hotel in the 1800's. It still shows it's charm from that era. read more

Stopped in as I drove through Salem. Thought I would try to find a spot that I could get a safe lunch on my way home. This place exceeded my expectations as a small town bar/ restaurant. This place has charm. It is a beautiful turn of the century building that once served as a stage stop and a brothel...hard to believe but it made it even more charming. I had the fried perch with potato pancakes which came with coleslaw, applesauce, sour cream and tartar sauce. The perch was sweet and fresh while the potato pancakes were hardy and just delicious. I had a Guinness to wash it down and it was poured right, the tap was clean and it tasted fresh as well. The price was on par and I would say a good value for the portions and great value for the quality of fish served. The service was a high point. The young lady who served me was friendly, energetic and attentive. I can see that everyone there liked her and everyone was very friendly. My experience was made even better by the charm of Julia. A beautiful young lady who I had the good fortune to sit next to. Julia gave me the background and history of the place and provided this old and weary soul with great company and conversation. Beware - ALL prices are marked up on the bill - for a credit card fee. Read the bottom of the bill, cash price is lower. This is NOT posted on the door as required. My $12 sandwich was $12.41 (etc - all items carried this 3+% markup). Look I get it, their costs are going up and they are passing along the cc fee. You have to tell people up front, it is the law. Always liked the place but last night we went. I had a regular Long Island then ordered a strawberry one. I took one slip and told waitress I didn't like it. she asked me if I wanted a regular one and I said yes and she charged me for all three. I said I didn't drink the strawberry one and I told you right away she said we still have to charge you for it. I told her if you would've told me that then I wouldn't have ordered another one. so I don't know if it's just the help but not friendly and not informative at all. it took forever to get the food and wings were not good. it was so loud. I have debated leaving a negative review, but I am so upset with how we were treated tonight. We came in for dinner, the place was packed, so we decided to eat at the bar. BIG MISTAKE. The bartender was a young blonde girl with the worst personality I've ever encountered. No greeting, no smile, no customer service. I've been to just about every establishment in Salem Lakes, and experienced poor service many times.. but never like this! We were clearly not welcome. At first, I thought maybe she had mistaken me for someone else, but the man next to us received the same treatment from this absolute brat! I truly hope this will be shared with her, and I pray she will find a resolution to whatever makes her so miserable. Customer service and interaction with people is not for her! Finally visited after finding out it actually isn't closed down. Not sure of the details but wanted to see if it lives up to the hype. I found it didn't, but it wasn't bad. I suppose I was expecting more on the menu. It was just bar food with some good looking apps. We didn't try any of the apps. We had the baked French onion soup, the Italian beef, and the jalapeño grilled cheese with bacon. It was all average. +1 star for good service. I want to come back for Bloody Mary and fish fry or some other specials. Do they have other specials? I didn't see any. read more

Our server & bartender Shannon was excellent! She made my favorite drink, a Raspberry Cosmo. The food was delicious. My husband had the ribeye steak sandwich prepared to a perfect medium rare. I had a chicken bacon ranch wrap. As my side I asked for sauteed veggies. We liked it here and will be back. read more

They deleted my review of them on Facebook three times so now I'm posting on Google. They treated a customer terribly. Kim told her that everyone hated her there, that they talk shit about her at their weekly store meetings, that the staff has nasty nicknames for her, that they all cringe when she walks in, etc. She asked her how dare she call and complain about her order during a pandemic, as if she should take what gets even though she had been supporting the business weekly. She kept laying it into her after she was already crying and upset. If that is how their staff treats customers for calling in an incorrect order, you would be best to take your business somewhere else. I'm shocked. Oh yeah, she was called and asked if she would really want this to ruin their reputation as if it was her fault that she was attacked. read more

My wife and I went here based off of a yelp review. We were not disappointed. It was a Friday so I had the fish fry. I ordered 5 piece dinner with fries. I was thinking they were smaller filets and I'm a big guy so.....yeah they were big pieces of fish, just an fyi. I had a side salad very good a double whiskey and coke. My wife had build your own burger w/cheddar cheese and house made potatoes chips. She had the red Moscato to drink. She said the burger was good but felt it lacked seasoning. Chips were good and not too thick. Hurts the teeth when they're super crunchy. My fish was tasty, hot and the fries were good. I'm not a cole slaw fan so my wife tried it and didn't care for it. We did order desert at the urging of our server Jake (I think). He highly recommended the maple-sweet potatoe cheesecake. She thought it was a strange combo was a little afraid to try it, but in the end loved it. All the flavors played off each other very well. I had the chocolate lava cake. It too was great, just the right ratio of cake to ice cream. The cake was moist and a dark chocolate flavor. Awesome. Pleasantly surprised at the coffee. We stopped in for a fish fry at 6pm and we were lucky enough to grab the last table. The place was completely packed including the bar. Friday also has a $2.50 Coors Light bottle special too. I had the fish fry. It was really good. It comes in 3, 4 or 5 pieces. I went with the 4 but should have went with the 3 because the pieces were pretty big. There is also a choice of potato and I went with the potato pancakes. They were good not the best I've ever had. My wife had the chicken caesar salad (dressing on the side) and it was really big. I had to finish it for her. Nothing like putting heathy into your body after coating it with deep fried grease. In fact, I could feel my body trying to reject the greens. The interior is not your typical Wisconsin beer sign and deer head place. A lot of thought went into the decor. It felt a little trendy inside. My booth had a high red velvet back...something you won't see often in a small bar in Wisconsin. The waitress was really friendly and took care of all of our requests. Our food also came out really fast. We were given our bread and as I was about to slice it our main course arrived. We will definately come back!!! read more

Sieberts is another one of those small out of the way places that we'd never have found without Yelp. We were in the area and wanted to grab some lunch - who would have thought there is a place with 41 reviews and a 5 star average in tiny Salem, WI? First, this isn't a divey bar. It's been a hotel and restaurant since 1880 - they even have some of the old posters showing rates of $1/day for the "full European" plan. Now, it's a beautiful bar and grill with a tin ceiling, gorgeous woodwork and stained glass chandeliers. Someone's put a lot of time and thought into restoring the place (but there are still some video poker machines, never fear!). There's a full bar with a very respectable tap list. The food menu has a good selection of burgers, sandwiches and some good looking main dishes. I went with a burger and wasn't disappointed - it's a very large patty served on a quality ciabatta bun. My two tiny nitpicks would be that burger needed a bit more seasoning and I really wish they had dill pickle slices (they have sweet pickles if you like those). For $8 it was a lot of food and clearly good quality. The Mister went with a wrap and French Onion, described on the menu as the "best". Well, it certainly was a decent Wisco version = more cheese and bread than soup and not too salty. Service is casual and genuinely friendly. Many of the people stopping in were clearly regulars, so they have a loyal following. The interior is small (maybe seats 40?) so plan ahead of you're visiting on what could be a busy night. Their Rueben's are fresh and the corned beef is made in house. Big chunks of meat, kraut, cheese, and sauce. Wait! I forgot to mention the marble rye bread! This is one hefty monster of a delicious sandwich. I felt like a pig eating it, but I couldn't stop! It was good!! I had sweet potato fries with it, they were crispy and tender on the inside. First time here, loved it! The bar and seating are not big but there is a very friendly feel to it. We got a seat at the bar waiting for our table and then the bartender offered for us to eat there. We took her up on it, she was very friendly and attentive. I got the cod fish fry and my husband got the Reuben. Both were amazing. It was by far the best fried cod I have ever had and he said the same about the Reuben. I upgraded a buck to the sweet potato fries and they were great. Drinks were reasonable. I got a Cabernet and he got a tall beer and it was under $10. Great place. I will be back! read more

I've been here a few times in the past year. The food is excellent and the long islands are to die for. 10/10 will be coming back here.

First time patron for lunch yesterday and my cobb salad with ginger sesame dressing was delicious and plentiful. I had the juice bar cocktail and it was very watered down and lacking any slight alcohol flavor. My friend had a wrap and fries and was very happy with her selection. I would definitely go back but would probably just get a bottled drink next time. read more

FINALLY got to visit Sieberts during a recent visit to Wisconsin! It was not too busy on NYE weekend, which was nice as we quickly were seated. We found a nice, cozy spot away from the cold outside and ordered. I had a Spotted Cow beer since I enjoy them while in Wisconsin and a burger. The food was quite tasty (as was the beer). The burger was juicy and delicious and a nice size. Service was really friendly and didn't rush us or take too long. You can tell there were lots of regulars in there, but they treated us just the same as if we had been there a million times before (instead of it being our first visit). Prices were quite reasonable as well. A nice, cozy spot that allows you to step away from any chain restaurants with friendly service, great prices, and tasty food (oh - and their bathrooms were clean and updated...sometimes older spots have slightly dismal bathrooms...).
