My wife and I tried this spot the other night and it was fantastic! The food was all delicious, especially the fish fry, and my favorite... the dill pickle cheese curds!! Absolutely amazing! Cod fry was pretty good. Hot & crunchy. Could use a bit of seasoning, slightly overcooked. Potato pancakes had a really strange taste, cinnamon? Nutmeg? $2 beers before 6pm. It gets super loud in here. read more

Great service even when busy! We have come for the fish fry and my wife who is very particular about her fish fry says it is very good (I don't like seafood). I can say the cheeseburger is very good! We are trying to the Prime Rib (my wife) and I am trying the Italian Beef pizza, it caught my eye when we walked by someone at the bar enjoying it. Got there at 5:30.. served at 6:45. Wife had parmesan cheese shrimp, looked totally different from the table next to us. little cheese and swimming inn a butter and oil bath. My baked cod i could have used to repair a flat tire, rubber no flavor, really over cooked. Table next to us , the guy got the wrong order and they said forget it. She ate, he didnt. $8 for a splash of Bourbon in an old fashion. IDK why the place was busy. read more

This definitely is an amazing place for a fish fry. Our party tried every single type and oh my, it was wonderful. Who would have even imagined that a Wiscconsin bar serving fried shrimp could have create such a flavorful delight where the shrimp didn't taste fishy like from a sewer, but rather a hearty, fresh treat from the sea. Lola not only provided incredible service, but treated each of my sisters, my mother, my girlfriend and myself like members of her own family including remembering our names while telling stories of her most recent family trip back to Poland and Belgium. My mother has always instilled the love of travel into her children and grandchildren. Therefore, having Lola sharing her stories of her travels had us not only laughing up a storm from those, but from sharing ours as well. We were never rushed, the food came out hot and we probably stayed well over two hours simply enjoying a family dinner at this great place. Watch the movie, "Nonnas" with Vince Vaughn and then come here. This would be the sequel set in Wisconsin of course with the Friday Night usual cuisine of fish plus a cold beer. My hubby and I went there for the first time last night. Place was pretty crowded with lots of people at the bar, but not that many tables of people in the dining room. Had a nice waitress Lola, but she was the only one beside the bartender. Our Old-Fashions were good, but our Steak Sandwich was sub-par. I asked for it to be medium, or a little pink and it came and was very well done. It was literally a steak on a bun, thus very dry! Nothing on the bun at all and nothing on the plate to add to the sandwich. Tried to go ask Lola for at least some mayo, or a raw onion or something to "jazz" up the sandwich, but she was then busy bartending. I will say the French fries were done just right and quite hot and tasty. Not sure we will go back, but it would have been nice if she had told us the sandwich included absolutely nothing, so we could have asked for some "add-ons". read more

Wish I would have taken a picture of my burger... it was amazing!! Very friendly bartender who was accommodating to our group. We had drinks and food at the bar. Has cream corn nuggets on the menu which I had never heard of and had to try... definitely hope to come back to have again; they were delicious! Burger came with thousand island dressing, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, mushrooms, and onion... it was huge and so tasty!! Very reasonable prices; will for sure be back! read more

We've been here for fish fry several times. There's a good reason that it's always packed. Parking can be a challenge. The fish was wonderful. My wife had fried which was more than she could eat. I had a baked fish with parmesan cheese which was extremely hot - which is good. It can always cool off. Extremely tasty. Sides were very good. All in all we do love the food and portion sizes were generous. NOT a family place but enjoyable for adults. read more

We've only been here twice. Both times we had fish fry. I had walleye the first time and catfish the second. My husband had perch. The breeding is light. They serve homemade soup and potato pancakes. Rye bread and coleslaw is tastey. The waitress remember us even though it had been 3 months between visits. read more

Went to my 2nd fish fry at Countryside Pub last night. The owner does most of the cooking and most everything is made from scratch and excellent flavors. My friend and shared perch and walleye. I like the fact that the breading on each is very light, so its crispy, but does not overwhelm the fish. The coleslaw was delicious. We had potato pancakes and they were large. Most places , if they even have potato pancakes serve very small ones and don't give you enough. I ended up taking half of mine home . portions are very generous. The owner has been gradually remodelling his place, so every time we go, he has gotton some more done. It is looking nice! The homemade clam chowder is the best I have ever had anywhere! I was pleasantly surprised at the good meal I received. I went for a fish fry and they had the option of cod, perch, bluegill, and walleye. They included a cup of homemade soup with meals. I had the walleye and it was served hot along with the fries, with a good portion, and was fried properly. The prices were very reasonable $10-$13. I will definitely stop back here. read more
