Incredible spot, Bob was so nice and knowledgeable. I bought 2 rugs from their discount premade rug section and I love them and get so many compliments on them!! They're great quality, very cozy and exactly what I was looking for. read more

We used Sid's Carpet Barn before and had a positive experience. So we came back again this time Bob was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in finding the right carpet. The Jonathan crew that completed the installation did an awesome job. I'd like to thank Mario and Lyndon for their help. Highly recommended using Sid's Carpet Barn for your flooring needs! read more

They don't have good reviews for a reason. Cheap products and they won't fix any issues even a month later after installation. When they come out to inspect, they'll blame you, boast they are the experts and not guarantee their work or product. Beware read more

I shopped quite a few places for quality carpet for my new purchase short term vacation rental in Temecula Wine Country.. I needed all the upstairs of a 4700 s.f house carpet, which is quite a lot of carpet, indeed. Previous owner let their dogs pee all over the carpet and everyone said it smelled like urine upstairs. When carpet was removed, all pee stains on the plywood along the wall. I was gonna buy my carpet at Abbey carpet, but when I left their store, I passed Sid's Carpet Barn on Miramar, and they just happened to have only two colors at a closeout price. One was just the color and quality of carpet I wanted, in a big roll big enough to do my house, and it was like a remnant price, that no one could beat. As far as I could remember, they were the only store out of at least 5 carpet stores, that had enough carpet on hand, to carpet my upstairs, without having to order it. It cost me $10,000 ! The installation took two days, and I see no faults. So 5 stars for the price and installation, and they had it in stock. I have a gorgeous 7 BR house, has pool and jacuzzi (you need to pay for propane to heat it, tho) , has a 300 degree view of hills and sunset, and hot air balloons, and it is on Winery Row De Portola Rd, and has pool table, ping pong, bocce ball, foos ball table, grand piano, outdoor BBQ kitchen, firepit, sleeps 15 people, 10 beds. if you want to rent it, message me on Yelp here. read more

Such an easy process! We stopped by and picked out our carpet. They made recommendations based on what we were looking for and provided us an estimate. They charge us for half up front then half after install. When they come to install it took a couple hours and the carpet looked great! Only tip, if you are in a time crunch, go order ahead. They can provide you the quote based on an estimated sq ft and then finalize the sq ft on day of install. It can take a week or two to order the carpet depending on what you choose. read more

In response to Don B. response. on 2/24/2021 1. They claimed the carpet I purchased was destroyed by a fork lift, but when I asked to see the damaged carpet, they refused to let me see it. I then asked for a photo of the damaged carpet, again they refused to provide one. That certainly seems like someone is lying and hiding about the facts. 2. Don B. actually admitted that I paid for more carpet than I received and yet still refuses to either give me the money back for the section of carpets I paid for but they took away or provide me the square footage of the carpet I paid for but did not receive. To be clear, I realize carpet is bought in 12 foot wide sections and that it will be cut down to size. However, in the past when I had carpet installed, there is typically about 100 square feet left over in various pieces ranging from 2-3 feet to as much as 10 feet in length and as much as 4 feet wide. I paid for those sections but was not given those sections. That is what is called stealing from the customer. I estimate I am owed about $200 either in cash or carpet, in which Sids' refuses to provide. Don't forget, they refused to let me see in any form their claims of forklift damage and when they notified me of the "damage" they wouldn't let me see, they immediately tried to up-sell me. Be very careful of doing business with these guys. read more

what a miserable experience. Went to Sid's today 2/22/24 around 1030. The guy at the entrance acted as if we had really upset his day by walking in. I can't give you his name as he never bothered to introduce himself; no smile; no handshake. Just "what do you want?". We are currently looking for carpet for only one room (new sunroom/concrete floors). My husband wondered if the guy was upset b/c it would not be a big sale. He said the only choice we would have was indoor/outdoor carpet for a sunroom (or else the manufacturer warranty would not apply. We have consulted 3 other carpet companies; no one said this was an issue. He walked us over to a few terrible samples and pretty much shrugged when we did not like them.   I finally said "let's get out of here" to my husband and we left. Mr. Noname did not try to stop us., Took me awhile to shake off this incredibly negative experience. I would not return to Sid's if it were the last carpet company on earth. read more

I was told by a friend to check out Sid's Carpet Barn on Miramar Road for carpeting info. So, I went there last week to look around (It's a large, cavernous place.) and was met by a Bob Wassberg. I found Bob to be extremely personable, friendly and helpful. He also seemed to possess an in-depth knowledge about carpeting and, interestingly enough, about the carpet industry around San Diego. In addition, he turned out to be one of those guys who not only knows a lot about a subject (carpeting in this case), but loves to share what they know. I would highly recommend this place, and Bob in particular. read more

Nice selection, but won't do business with Sid's based on customer service. I walked in and was greeted by a salesperson. He reeked of onions. He asked me what I was looking for, and did NOT ask me the budget. Then promptly showed me the sale and discontinued items. Judge much? I did not ask for a cheap carpet, I asked for a durable carpet. Then rapid-fire questions while someone else was also talking. He finally took his onion BO, went into the office and proceeded to watch Youtube videos with a colleague. Between the nauseating smell of onions, and the interruptions I knew I would not be working with him. I stayed to view carpet options I was interested in (prices are not marked) while he watched videos and then left. I don't see a need to return; no thanks. read more

I visited many, many carpet stores looking to replace our living room, dining room and hall. I kept returning to Veronica at Sid's Miramar. Although we didn't end up using Sid's for our carpeting needs, I was pleased with the service I received from them. The salesperson, Lyndon(sp?), was very helpful and informative. He spent a good amount of time showing me our options, discussing the pros and cons of different materials, and provided a very competitive quote. If we weren't in the the market for a very specific product we would most likely have used them. I would recommend giving them a shot at providing a quote. read more

I'm a mom and classroom volunteer for 1st graders at Bird Rock Elementary. I was at the French Gourmet bakery this morning to get prices on buying Non-decorated sugar cookies in the shape of Xmas trees and gingerbread man, so that the children can decorate them as a special holiday event before the winter break. There was a man in front of me, he overheard my discussion for pricing, asked me about the school, then pulled $50 cash out of his wallet to pay for it. I was not prepared for that immediate kindness. I placed the order immediately on the spot. I asked if I could get his name to thank him.... he said that he's a long time employee of SIDS Carpet.... so I'm writing to tell you thank you in behalf of all the lucky little 1st graders of our class. Came here on a recommendation by one of the employees at Abbey Carpet. We were not greeted by anyone the whole time we were here, even though it wasn't busy. We asked for a price quote from one of the employees who was just standing around, for a room --sq ft big and he quietly took out his calculator, punched away for a few minutes and stated the number before walking away. We got the impression that we bothered him and left the store emptyhanded, even though the flooring that we were interested in was the cheapest we've seen. The lack of good customer service can make or break a deal. I'm wondering why Abbey Carpet (with awesome customer service) even recommended this place. read more

Let me begin with the installers, Jose Hernandez and Cecilio Chavez. These two men removed my old carpet and installed my new carpet in one day! They could not have been more professional, hardworking and polite. It was a pleasure working with them. I love my carpet! I was moving from Massachusetts to San Diego and picked out the carpet I wanted for our new home at a local carpet store in MA. My realtor, Terri@UCRealtors.com called Sid's and spoke with Frank (no longer there) who went to the house to take the measurements for us, on his way home. The carpet was ordered and came in quickly and on time. Sid's should be happy to employ great guys to work in customer's homes. They were great and I LOVE MY CARPET! read more

We had our cabinets and drawers painted by The Spray Shop and couldn't be happier. Amy helped us pick out a color, John masked off the kitchen and helped Travis paint. Then the doors and drawers were installed by Travis and James. What a beautiful difference! Travis clearly has this process down and we're so grateful! After getting quotes of 19K - 30K for all new cabinets, this was a cost-effective alternative that really worked for us and their crew was efficient and super nice. read more

Apparently you have to beg them to take your money. We came in on a Monday, got a rough quote. We have a deadline for this project and they thanked us for giving them enough time. Salesman was nice, they worked with our other bid to get a lower price and said they would call to schedule someone to come out and measure. Two days later, still no appointment. I called back on Wednesday, salesman said he forgot to give the guy my number and was out of the office. Got a call to set up an appointment on Thursday and someone came out on Friday to measure. He stated "give me a couple days to write this up." We gave him the weekend. Never received a call, never received an email. We called the following Saturday (one week and one day after the measurements were taken) to ask for our estimate and reached someone who could not find us in the system. He asked for our phone number and would call us back. It's now Monday. We have not received a call. Their hours stated they were open Sundays at 12:00 to 5:00. Called twice at 12:15 and nobody picked up. They seemed legit at first and we were hopeful they would get the job done for us, but we can't afford to wait (they've already wasted two weeks of our dwindling timeline). Plus, we can't trust that they'll get the job done on time if they can't even return a phone call! read more

We had a great experience with Sid's. They were recommended by a friend who had a good experience, and after scoping out Home Depot and picking our favorite we headed over to Sid's. Their sales person was really friendly and helpful and sifted through a lot of samples before finding something similar to what we wanted (ANSO nylon, BCF). The gave us a price discount to match Home Depot pricing and we were happier with Sid's selection. We got another quote from Bonded Carpet and overall Sid's was competitive. We ordered the carpet and all went as planned. The guy doing the measurement arrived on time and was competent and friendly. I wasn't home for the installation, but they did a fantastic job. I haven't noticed any issues in the whole house (aside from the fact they busted out one of my door stops, but otherwise the install was great. We got what we wanted and Sid's brought the carpet in and installed it within 1 week. We love it!!! read more

UPDATE - OVERALL - 5 stars for everything that happened after we complained. So from my initial 1 star, a drastic improvement. This updated rating of 4 stars means that I would still express caution to anyone I recommend go there (i.e., get everything in writing with clear timelines). I do think that Sid's would benefit from clear communication with their customers (e.g., clear timelines so that everyone is on the same page). CONTINUING FROM THE EARLIER STORY: So, carpet and laminate has been installed. The crew that completed the install did a great job. They even put laminate in a small and narrow area that the sizer/measurer said they wouldn't be able to do. The crew was respectful and cleaned up after themselves. And they worked to finish the job (they started at ~10am and finished at ~7pm). So, all-in-all, everything looks great! On the management side, after we spoke to Don B and expressed our displeasure with the changing timelines, Don was very responsive and apologetic. He offered us ~5% off our total cost and promised us that the crew would be at our house between 8am and 9am the following morning (31st). The next morning (~9:50am), Don called to ensure that the crew had arrived on time. They hadn't. He immediately called the crew and then called me back, letting me know that they had to stop for supplies. (BTW, the crew had also called me at 8:38am and let me know that they would be at our house in ~1hr.) The crew arrived and began to work. Don called again (forgot what time) to ensure that the crew had now arrived and that the work was going well... It was. Later that afternoon, Don called again to check on the progress. I expressed my concern that maybe the work wouldn't be completed by the end of the day. But Don ensured me that it would be. He was right and the crew worked without break (except a lunch break) until they finished the job. The next day (Aug 1), Don called me in the morning to ensure that the work had been completed to our satisfaction. It had. He again apologized for the miscommunication and the delays, stating that COVID-19 had reduced the number of people working in the store (from 6 employees to 2). Though I would love to excuse the miscommunication, it was unfortunate that we were not told of the increased employee workload from the get-go. It would have help me to be a lot more understanding up front. (BTW, I love the fact that Don reads the reviews here and responds to them. In our phone conversation today, he mentioned something that I wrote in the first review. Kudos to Don for being attentive to his customer needs!) read more

Pros: competitive pricing, large selection, installers professional Cons: lagging to terrible customer service, poor communication with customers(and each other), installers poorly scheduled In this economy, customer service is the difference between companies who make it and those who don't. Sids carpet did everything right. Samson showed me samples was friendly and attentive the carpet I wanted was in stock they were able to install it within 7 days it's beautiful installers did an excellent job and were great too..I went to Home Depot first they charge $40 to come to your house to measure 12X16 and then they give you an overpriced estimate and you don't get your $40 back SIDS is much better Go to Sids! read more

I went into the Sids in Miramar after spending hours at several other flooring stores, to find a remnant for a hallway. I explained what I was looking for to Mario, who was actually from another store, and he was quick to show me where what I was looking for was located. I asked about carpet samples and he referred me to Samson, the manager, who was as sweet as can be and gave me 2 of said samples, for my dog who has bad hips. I was there for about half an hour and only spent $25 but they treated me as if I spent thousands. I will definitely go back for my future floor needs. read more

We had a positive experience at Sid's Carpet Barn on Miramar Road. Mario Gonzalez was very helpful in finding the right flooring, and the installers did an excellent job. We are a repeat Sids customer for two simple reasons. The first is selection. We have always found exactly what we wanted for a great price without giving up quality. The second is customer service. We have always received service that is second to none! This last visit we worked with Samson, he listened to me trying to describe my vision and he nailed it! He started bringing samples of exactly what I had pictured. We will never buy flooring from anyone else! read more

I love Sid's Carpet Barn. This is the 2nd time I used them for flooring in my condo. They are super nice and really great with customer service and personal attention. You don't get that at Home Depot or Lowe's. Also, they don't try to upsell you at all. My salesperson, Marsha, was super sweet, friendly and very knowledgeable. I described what I had in mind and my price range, and she led me right to what I was looking for. The installer, Marcos did a great job on the installation and worked around my schedule which I really appreciated. They don't usually install on Saturdays, but since it is difficult for me to take off work, he did it as special favor. Thank you Marcos! I also dealt with Rick there too, and he was awesome too. I will definitely use them again. My mom has also used Sid's, and she was really happy with them too. read more

First time buying carpet from Sid's, and since we had such a great experience I was determined to find time to give a shout out to the staff that gave us terrific service. Don, Mario and Lyndon. Lyndon and Mario in sales, listened to exactly what we were looking for, then came up with 3 carpet options that were beautiful and on budget with no hidden costs. On the day of delivery, it was our fault the condo was not open for the install and we had to reschedule. Given the tight schedule for everyone, I spoke to Don the manager. Don is one of the most professional managers we have ever worked with. He sympathized with our time crunch, and assured us he would continue to work and and try his best to get us rescheduled. I knew he had the highest integrity when he stressed, he would not guarantee a earlier appointment, because he only promises the results he can deliver. Which is very refreshing to hear and I knew he would continue to work hard on a earlier reschedule date. The next day he called to inform us if a earlier install appointment. Thank you Don, you saved the day! read more

I know little about carpets, even less about tile. I just know you step on them, you drop stuff on them and your supposed to clean or vacuum them. OK, that aside, installation was on point, no bumped furniture while moving stuff nor issues. Nice people at Sid's who take your money when you hand it to them then come through on what they promise. I think that is what a business is supposed to do. Hey Sid, if your reading this, why do they call this a "barn"? Ought to be called a flooring center with excellent people working the floor. read more

We had carpet installed by Sids 5 years ago. I am happy with the quality of the carpet. However, from the first year the carpet on one stair started to detach, exposing nails. Sids came out and repaired. However, the carpet continues to detach and it poses a real danger of tripping over carpet or stepping on exposed nails. They asked $150 to come out and repair one stair. This morning I asked how long they would guarantee the repair and was told that they could not offer a guarantee. I have lived in many carpeted homes with stairs over the years and have had no issues. I have to think it was installed improperly. read more

I needed to buy new carpet and went here because they are a large store with a lot of carpet selection. This was my first time buying carpet. After finishing the process with them, I've learned that the sales people are there just to sell and make their money. I don't know much about carpet and I was looking at the selection from an aesthetic standpoint - did it look nice? Do I like the color? I explained to the sales associate where the carpet would be going (on the stairs) and he showed me a couple of options. I selected one, and an installer came out to measure the space to see how much carpet we'd need. Fast forward to post installing, and the carpet that he sold is way too thin for the stairs. The previous carpet was much thicker, so this one has gaps on the wall between where the last carpet was and this carpet is, so now i have to pay extra money to add molding to cover the gaps on the wall. Had the sales associate asked what the prior carpet looked like, I would've thought about this, but I didn't even think to match to the prior carpet. Then, the installer overestimated how much we would need, so we now have an extra roll of carpet and an extra roll of foam just sitting in our unit. I called them to see if they would take it back (not even a refund, but just to take it away), and they said no. I don't know how the installer would estimate us needing THIS much extra material. In sum, we have carpet that is way too thin for the space and looks awful, we have to spend more money to add molding, and we have extra material sitting in our unit that they won't take back and we overpaid for the materials as a result. I would not recommend this place if you are new to buying carpet. read more

Un-freaking believable. Today, my wife and I went to Sid's for the first time. We wanted a small amount of carpet. about 1.5 yards. We found some carpet that we liked and asked the woman how much it would cost. She sits down, pulls out a calculator and starts writing on a piece of paper. After ten minutes, she shows us the paper, explains a bunch of charges and quotes us $1,211. Since we make it a point not to get rude, we took the estimate, thanked her and left. It was completely nuts. read more
