Almost three months ago I wrote a review regarding Geneva Flooring. They had just completed the installation of Luxury Vinyl Plant in my kitchen and dining room. I commented extensively on the extraordinary assistance and expertise that Christine and Carrie provided to me with product selection, budget, timing and a host of different issues. I also noted the often overlooked importance of having the best possible installer on your project. The gent on my job was Nuno Barbosa. Nuno wasn't just "good" he was "amazing". Anyway, that was three months ago. Subsequently, I found a need to replace some flooring and baseboards in a rental poetry I own in Poway. With the deepest amount of trust and confidence, I called upon Christine, Carrie and Nuno to handle the job. At the time I initiated our initial conversation I thought, "can they really replicate the 10 Star performance from 3 months back"? It was my lucky day when I entered the Geneva flooring showroom! I had been looking for months for vinyl flooring to replace old carpet and flooring in my animal foster room and 2 closets. Very small job but that didn't change the fact I had been to 6 other flooring companies and couldn't find what I wanted. I had seen Geneva ads, a woman owned company with her daughter, and decided I'd give them a try. From the moment I walked in the door, it was just a whole different vibe. Judy welcomed me, asking if she help, and then let me wander as needed. I had seen pretty much everything at the other flooring stores so I was hoping they had other brands...and they did. And so started my Geneva Flooring adventure with Judy, Carrie and Pamela by my side! I came back and forth with multiple samples at least 10 times and every time they were there to assist me, giving me input and their thoughts but not imposing on "my" creative ability. Some places limit how many samples you can take and how long you can keep them but Geneva doesn't, which was the only thing that helped me make my decision. By the time I picked my flooring, I almost felt like I worked there...they had actually made the process fun! I had spent months finding this flooring but that was the easy part...installation was another thing! I have problems with chemical smells and off-gassing so I needed a low voc flooring and the ability to install in my master closet last in case there was any issue with the other rooms. Nuno did a great job on my installation and was happy to accommodate. In addition, there were wires under my existing flooring that had to be rerouted, which Nuno was able to do in the foster room but it wasn't possible in the others so he had to come back twice in order to finish everything. From beginning to end, Judy was very helpful and understanding as was Nuno. I can honestly say I don't think any other flooring company would have worked through this like Geneva! I will be back for my carpet and am referring everybody I know that needs flooring to Geneva...thank you ladies! read more

I highly recommend Geneva Flooring if you are looking to replace your flooring. We moved into our house almost 7 years ago knowing we hated the existing tile floors downstairs. We avoided it due to the magnitude of the demolition and the fact that we have small kids and work from home. We decided to just start looking at options, costs, time lines, etc, because we really, REALLY didn't like the tiles. I found Geneva Flooring on Houzz and double checked Yelp. They were quick to respond to the initial request-far quicker than any other business. We did talk to about 3-4 other contractors however, we ultimately chose to work with Carrie and Geneva because I felt like she was honest about the products and made the effort to understand our personal needs and goals. She was quick to get us a quote and schedule the team to start work. Again, she was honest about the size of the project, which we were well aware of. We were able to select 3 different tiles from 3 different tile companies. We decided to replace the baseboards and she took care of that as well. Carrie helped organize everything. It really took a lot of the pressure off us. There is no way we could've coordinated everything on our own and had it done in the amount of time. The tile team that worked on our house was great. When we moved into our house 8 yrs ago, they were wonderful. Very patient in how many times I went in and out with the dozens of floor samples I took home. When I finally found the wood I loved, they did an amazing job installing it. I have gotten so many compliments. What's more it's American made and low VOC. Last month when a pipe burst and we had to replace the floors. Lisa came out the next day on a Saturday and got me a quote within 24 hrs. She also had lots of good suggestions and helped alot with getting the insurance info correct. Frank Ignacio, the installation manager, was also amazing. We had to have our beautiful red oak floor repaired after Tropical Storm Hilary blew through in August. Our backyard drain system was partially obstructed and allowed water to pool against one corner of foundation of our house. Moisure migrated through the foundation and into the oak floor discoloring it and slightly lifting it off the slab. We immediately knew we wanted Nuno, who did the original installation, back to do the restoration. True to his assurances, he was able to expertly repair the damage with our stock of spare wood from the initial installation. You would never know there was ever any problem. Nuno is truly highly proficient at his craft and a joy to interact with. And, yes, we had the drains hydroblasted before the repairs. read more

We'd been wanting to replace our living room carpet and kitchen/laundry room vinyl sheet floor for ages. We have a late-mid-century home with different wood elements and, after TONS of research and shopping, were despairing that we'd ever find a flooring that would work in both areas, complement the existing woods, be low VOC, and look at least sort of right for the architectural time period. We have had some poor experiences with other flooring companies and I really wanted to like Geneva Flooring, but they just didn't do a good job. We got a mixture of engineered wood and carpet in our upstairs. We already had some wood in another room and wanted to match it. Geneva was able to do this at a price comparable to other estimates that we obtained. That was the good part. However, the installation didn't go smoothly, the workmanship was not good and it was difficult to get clear and complete communications from Geneva and their installers. We were left with a half-finished job over the Thanksgiving holidays and books and furniture piled in the rooms that weren't getting new flooring. And when the job was finished there were several small flaws with the installation (mostly in the finishing) that mar the final look of the floors. I probably could have continued to ask that the installers come back and fix the flaws, but we had already had to call them back twice and by the time they finished we were more anxious to get our rooms cleared out and the installation finished than fix these items. read more

Carrie also came to ensure correct measurements so the right amount of flooring would be ordered. Nuno did an amazing job with the installation. He finished in just a couple days. After he was done he also gave me some tips for cleaning, maintaining the floors longevity, and installing the baseboards later on (since I wanted to do that myself). He also managed to utilize extra pieces in such a way that I'd have an extra box left over in case any future damages came up. I was nervous about replacing my carpet and tile during Covid. After an unsatisfactory stop at a big box store, my sister suggested Geneva Flooring. Carrie had her mask on as I entered and did a great job listening to my concerns and offering solutions. I was able to take home large samples of several different LVP products. I settled on Amorim Wood Wise because it is cork based and its top layer is made from recycled water bottles. Negative carbon footprint and no off-gassing! Once I chose the product, things moved quickly. The tile demo was very dusty but removing all the carpet took most of the tile dust away. The installers, Nuno and Cory, did a wonderful job. They arrived as scheduled every day, wore face coverings, worked quickly, were considerate, careful, and great communicators. They were careful to avoid the room the cats were confined to. Overall, this was a better-than-expected experience. I am extremely pleased with the look and feel of the flooring and the wonderful installation. Needed to replace all the stained carpet in my (older) new home, so I decided to drop by their store to see carpet samples and schedule a carpet quote. Christine was the sweet lady who made carpet recommendations based upon what I was looking for - pet/stain friendly and plush, but with reduced carpet marking. She let me borrow two panels of carpet samples to take home in order to help me decide on the color. It turned out to be a tough decision since all the colors looked great in my home! Lisa and Nuno dropped by later in the week in order to take measurements and provided me with a quote later that day. It took a little over a week for them to receive the ordered carpet, but installed it in less than a day despite the weather conditions. The two gentlemen who installed the carpet were respectful by protecting the hard floors and also cleaned up after themselves by sweeping and vacuuming. The color of the carpet in the photos do not do it justice - as the shade changes with light conditions. The new carpet in combination with the upgraded padding feel great on the feet and I couldn't be happier with my new carpet! Their customer service is top notch. We did some shopping around for floors and while conducting our search in Mira Mesa, we decided to check out Geneva Flooring. Immediately, we were greeted by Judy and a gentlemen (his name escapes me). They were both incredibly friendly and helpful in assisting us with what we were looking for. Even in pulling samples that matched what we were looking for in terms of style and color. They provided tips, such as choosing a variety of samples that range in a wide spectrum of color, because you really never know how the lighting or surroundings may affect the color/style of floor that you feel you're in love with in the store. We even asked if the floor choices had the right stair noses we wanted (flush, not the caps), since at the time, our selection only had the caps, which my girlfriend refused to accept. Judy reached out to the seller confirming they did have flush noses! We were shocked at how thorough they were in serving us. Personally, I would be exhausted dealing with indecisive customers, but yet they were very patient, friendly, and provided very helpful advice to us the entire time. We didn't feel like were being upsold on anything while we were there. It really felt like the job would be in good hands working with them. After finally deciding on our floor choice (which took us about 2 weeks), we scheduled the installers to come perform the stripping of carpet and installation of the vinyl floors. The installers did a great job on our second floor and our stairs, however, the first floor was laid out poorly. A group of dark pieces were bunched up altogether and weren't distributed properly. We contacted Judy and she came out to took a look and agreed the installers should've distributed these pieces better. As they were contractors, we understand that the work performed can't always live up to expectations. She had the installers redo the problem area for half cost and even threw in a few extra boxes of vinyl free of charge in case we need any repairs in the future. We were really grateful that Judy put in the effort to make sure we were content with the results. I would've never expected this level of customer service from a flooring company.
