Wow! That's all I can say about the work they did in painting our kitchen cabinets. My wife and I couldn't possibly be more happy!

They were very professional, covered. everything cleaned up very well after themselves. Prevented. any kind of dust. They took All the cabinet doors off and worked on them outside, sanded them down to the wood. They painted with 2 Coats of primer and 2 Coats of paint. They fixed up all the hinges so that everything closes smoothly. Put all new doorknobs . Looks absolutely fantastic! Like a whole new kitchen was put in for half the price ! I highly recommend them. We couldn't be happier with the quality of their work! Fantastic job. read more

Refined Coatings sanded and repainted our kitchen cabinets with a very high quality paint, made for cabinets. The company was extremely fast getting the job done, but the quality was not compromised. However, my husband and I were most impressed with their professionalism: A+ for the communication, dependability, workers on task at all times, and clean-up. Not one complaint from us. read more

Jose and his crew worked fast (2-1/2 days) and the quality of the work is top notch. They also sand and protect your home like it was their own home with air purification. And I very much appreciated good communication throughout the process. Highly recommend! read more

Jose and his staff were timely and professional and, most importantly, turned my kitchen cabinets from the "Tuscan" maple orange wonderland they were, to beautiful, contemporary kitchen cabinets. Jose tuned up all the cabinet drawers and doors with new soft-close hinges, and worked with me to place my handles optimally. Ask him about the paint "catalyst", a small upcharged paint additive that made a huge difference in the outcome of the kitchen cabinets. read more

After a wonderful experience, hiring Jose to finish my daughter's cabinets, a few years ago, I asked him to refinish the cabinets in my newly bought condo. I was not disappointed. Where to begin? Jose is simply the very best at his trade. I am in awe of the finished product. When I show off my kitchen, people ask where I bought my cabinets. When I tell them they are refinished, they don't believe me. The finish is perfect, factory perfect. Jesus is also honest and a perfectionist. He's a problem solver and he stands behind his work. You can find cheaper but you can't find better. So, pay a little more and get a heck of a lot more. Get perfect! read more

I couldn't ask for a better result. I almost wanted to throw away my cabinets because Dunn-edwards completely messed up the paint. But San Diego painting and refinishing removed all the paint to the wood and refinish my cabinets. They looks like as if they were bought today, very smooth and flawless. Other than the quality, the speed and price were amazing and the employees are very helpful and professional. recommended read more

We asked Jose of San Diego Painting and Refinishing to refinish the outside of our wood front door with two side panels and our wood Dutch back door. Both were in horrible shape and needed serious sanding, staining and refinishing. We collected several bids. Jose's was the most reasonable, but also the most thorough and inclusive and we liked the photos on his completed projects on his website. At the end of the day, the doors look beautiful - like new. Jose also put a few coats of finish on the inside of the back door, which was not part of the estimate, but he felt they were needed. We could not be more pleased with the work Jose and his crew did. Beyond leaving everything clean and tidy, they came exactly when they said they would and finished the work in the allotted time. We had to wait a few months for Jose to have time to do our doors, but it was well worth the wait. read more

Jose and his team are amazing! They were all very polite and professional. The area was well cleaned up daily I absolutely love my refaced cabinetry. His estimate was so much less than everyone else, but I checked references and everyone loved him and his work. Even his employees were complementary of him as an employer (and teacher!). I hesitate to say this, but he could be a tad more responsive. I know he's very busy right now, but sometimes calls and texts went unanswered for days. However, when he said something would happen on a date, it happened. I have a very large kitchen and lots of cabinets - he quoted 3 days to complete and it was mostly completed (I added and changed a few things). I highly recommend them! read more

Jose and his crew did an incredible job painting my cabinets. I had him paint every cabinet in my house... the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room, dining room, and media cabinet. Jose was able to get all the work done while we were on vacation and we came home to a brand new house! He went above and beyond, changing out all of the hardware on the cabinets, and even swapped out the old mesh on the media cabinet and replaced it with a rattan material that made it look amazing and modern. The paint on all the cabinets is such great quality and looks like we installed new cabinets. We have gotten so many compliments on how great it looks from everyone that comes over. I feel so lucky to have found this company and would highly recommend them to everyone! read more

I want to thank Jose and his team (shout out to Vincent!) for the work they did in our home - kitchen cabinets - starting this summer. After removing all the doors and drawers ourselves and sanding them, we stopped short at painting them when we realized that this was a skill better left to a professional. We contacted Jose and he worked out a quote for painting/installing that included paint matching paint we'd already purchased and really liked the color of. Then his team got to work. In a few short days, we had a beautiful refreshed kitchen that took it from the 90's to a fresh on-trend look. Shortly after, we noticed some chipping in certain areas that didn't seem to match what Jose said to expect from the finish and so we contacted him. He responded very quickly and fixed the issue shortly thereafter, with the same professionalism and kindness we experienced the first time he was here. Jose's communication is stellar and he stands behind his work. I would highly recommend this team for your cabinet refinishing and will always refer him to others. Thanks again, Jose and Vincent! read more

All I can say is O M G! I have never had such an amazing experience with any business thus far. Let's begin with the response time. I was scrolling through Yelp to find a kitchen remodel company, as I was tired of my old dated kitchen. I messaged three companies. Jose responded immediately, I was not expecting this , as I had waited weeks for responses before from other businesses. He immediately scheduled an appointment time to educate me on the process he would use, and to determine the cost of the project. He showed up punctually and explained exactly what he would be doing. I wanted to keep my wood cabinets and what he did is not just a mediocre paint job. Him and his very personable team sanded, primed, painted and sealed all my kitchen cabinets. They also did it ahead of schedule. I was so happy! They are meticulous, courteous and professional. They are so nice, in fact, that they helped my out with painting my old stairway railings and my fireplace!!! I cried tears of joy when I saw the finished project. Their price is completely fair for the quality of work they do. I highly recommend Jose and his team for your painting and refinishing needs. In fact, I will be using them again when I'm ready to refinish my bathroom cabinets. I can't wait!!!!! Thank you so much Jose, we are very happy customers!!! read more

I spent a lot of time researching refinishing kitchen cabinets and had a difficult time finding a looking for a company that knew how to apply a 2k water based poly coating. It turned out that Jose and his crew used one of the coatings I wanted and detailed every step in their quote. Included in the quote was hanging the doors and installing the hardware which, in my case, turned out to be somewhat of a challenge. Jose didn't increase his price to cover the extra time it took to install the doors and finished the job without any loose ends. Take a look read more

I had the task of searching for a contractor to re-paint our dark stained kitchen cabinets. I needed to make sure my wife was happy. Thanks to Jose and his crew, my wife was happy. I interviewed 4 different companies. Jose is probably one of the best re-finishers I have ever seen. Our cabinets have a factory like finish and the kitchen has been transformed. We anticipate the finish to last a very long time. Jose is also one of the only few people I have searched for online that paints with the method that he used on our kitchen (conversion varnish). From my research this requires high experience. I am saving you research time, call Jose. read more

We had a virtual consultation 9/2/2020 for an estimate and never heard back from them. Poor follow up. Guess they don't want any business.

We needed to refinish kitchen cabinets in our home in La Jolla. I wanted a quality job, that would make the cabinets look new instead of tired and yellow stained after so many years. San Diego Painting & Refinishing worked for 4 days sanding, spray painting, and installing new hardware and fitting our cabinets (many were misaligned after so many years). Jose , the owner uses a special paint called Renner Italian Coatings that produces a beautiful and durable sheen. My 30 year old cabinets look new. The pictures I posted don't really do justice . The workers were on time every day, wearing masks. Everyone was very personable and I highly recommend this company for any cabinet refinishing and painting work. read more
