Could not be more pleased.....truly a painter who borders on artististic skills.......just try to find that today. He matched a "faux" painted wall to a room that was initially painted 25 years ago. Best recommendation is to get on his schedule as soon as possible because his skills have to be in high demand.` read more

We chose Marcelino Art after having met Marcelino and discussing our project. We wanted to renovate the existing, outdated kitchen but not replace the cabinets. We also decided to have an existing entertainment center painted to match the cabinets as they were in the same general location. I have provided before and after photos showing the work. We went from the old brown wood look to a much more modern blue. Marcelino and his team were excellent to work with. They were always on time and very polite and friendly. I can't overstate how great it is to have people arrive on time and as discussed (may seem obvious but I've had the opposite experience from other contractors). The work itself was done extremely well. They took great care to mask and tape everything off and created what was essentially a confined room to encapsulate the painting. The finish on the paint (varnish) was exactly what we wanted. This was definitely the correct approach from a cost/value perspective. For a fraction of the cost to replace the cabinets, we have them looking nearly brand new. I can't recommend this business enough. read more

My wife wanted Roman Clay painting on our newly remodeled hood and fireplace for over 5 years. With our remodel it was finally time to do it. Marcelino Art came recommended from our contractor since this Roman Clay is more of an art and less of a paint. Marcelino and team was such an amazing experience. The team came over and was super professional and nice. It was such an experience to watch these artists at work. Upon review the work was done 100% and beautifully. If you are looking for this type of textured art, Marcelino Art is the company to choose. It's beautiful. read more

Marcelino and his team were wonderful. My guest bathroom was transformed with marble walls that look just like real marble, they did a superb job. They also refreshed my 8 ft African giraffe to her original state, she is absolutely beautiful. My front door also had a facelift which again the crew did an amazing job. All in all I would highly recommend Marcelino Art for your job, they were very professional, efficient and a joy to work with for all 3 of my projects. read more

If you're looking for a Roman clay application, these are your guys. Don't use any Joe Schmoe. Very professional - easy experience!

Job was to stain stair case. It was ok, I wouldn't say flawless. The finish started wearing off after 2 years. Could not get him to fix it even offering to pay him. I have to find someone else to do it and nobody will fix it, they all want to redo it so thousands of dollars wasted. To be clear we did not ask for assistance right away but first did in october of 24. After paying a referred touch up person they were unable to complete the job due to the materials marcelino used and so we asked again for assistance in December. It is now may of 25. read more

Marcelino was recommended to me by a work colleague and I can honestly say after my experience that he is quite an artiste! I had two fireplaces that needed some updating and he transformed them. In my family room, he created a custom white wash for my brick and mantle. In my formal living room, which is more traditional, he was able to paint my mantle, a crisp, white with subtle highlights that really customized it. I felt his price was quite reasonable as well. Throughout the process Marcelino was a pleasure to work with. Professional, Timely, courteous, and so clean you would never know someone was working in your home. Bravo!! read more

I called Marcelino last week to get an estimate for refinishing my metal entry gate and balcony railing. This week the work was completed and it turned out beautifully. I told Marcelino that I wanted something artistic that flowed with the property. He came up with the perfect blue/green patina to use over a rich brown base. I couldn't be happier with the job quality Marcelino and his assistant, Dustin delivered. If you are searching for artistic custom work by people with an eye for detail, look no further and give this business a call! read more

Marcellino refinished my Allwood garage door and front door in Solana Beach. It had been a long time since they had been refinished and they needed to be sanded stained and two coats of varnish. He was very reliable and came out several days in a row to carefully complete the work. I highly recommend Marcellino. read more

I recently got two wood beams installed by another contactor in my bedroom. Although he tried his best to match the wood color of my bed frame, it was a different wood specie and it was also too yellow. My husband told me to leave them as is, but I said "no way Jose". The subtle difference of the wood color bothered me too much. That's when I decided to reach out to Marcelino to see if he could repaint them to match closely to my bed frame. He came out once to check out the color and then a week later, he and another artist, Vicky were able to work their magic! I am so pleased with the outcome! The colors matched exactly, and my husband did agree with me that it was worth it. . Marcelino and Vicky are highly skilled artists, and you won't be disappointed in their work! I hope to use them again for another project! read more

Marcelino and his team did any absolutely AMAZING job on our kitchen cabinets! He completed a sample of the color that we liked so we could see how it would look on one of our small cabinet doors ahead of doing the entire kitchen. The finish and quality of their work was incredible. They came in, took the doors off the hinges and back to their shop to refinish and then spent almost 2 days prepping, taping and covering. Sanding, priming, 2 coats of paint (with sanding as they went along) and the final matte covering the cabinets game out smooth and flawless. Their attention to detail and filling in old gaps in the cabinets along with ensuring that when the tape came off everything was perfect was exactly what we hoped for. Would highly recommend them for any cabinet facelift. The finish they delivered was top notch. read more

We are in the middle of redecorating the interior of our home. We have 4 beams (fabricated mold foam core) in the Great Room that needed to be refreshed, to expose the grain, knot holes and other rustic imperfections found in natural wood. We commissioned Marcelino of Marcelino Custom Finishes after seeing all of the 5 star reviews, examples of his work and a sample of the faux finish he prepared for our project. You could tell it was as important to him (if not more), as us, to have the beams look like real wood. He has a passion that is reflected in all his work leading up to the finished project. His attention to: our vision, paint preparation, cleanup and execution, of what can only be described as a "work of art", exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely commission him again for future work in the pipeline! read more

i hired Marcelino to paint the wood beams in the ceiling of the family room in my 1970s tract house. The original beams were cheap wood and painted solid gray. Marcelinlo painted the beams to look like real wood. He worked to get just the right color which coordinates beautifully with my LVP floors and fireplace stone. The improvement is stunning!. I can honestly say that the value added to my house far exceeded the price Marcelino charged!. I enjoy looking at the beams every day. So Worth It! read more

We had Marcelino's team faux finish the big beams in our great room and kitchen, and the fireplace mantle in the great room. The original color of the wood was dark burgundy that didn't fit well with the wall color and furniture. Marcelino brought brothers Juan and Jorge, who mixed some custom samples, and we chose which ones we liked. The beams and mantle, which we chose to be different in color, turned out beautifully in a "Santa Barbara" color palette. The brothers covered the walls on plastic and were completely professional. We are completely happy with the end result and highly recommend Marcelino and his staff! read more

Marcelino and his team just completed refinishing my wooden front and garage doors that had degraded from the prolonged exposure to San Diego (Poway) sun. He brought them back to life, matching the original custom colors perfectly and protecting them with multiple coats of sealant. The door hardware was cleaned, polished and returned to its original luster. His services provided excellent value that saved the cost of repair/replacement. Very professional and pleasant to deal with. We certainly will use Marcelino again for wood and metal refinishing/protection and other painting and staining needs. Phenomenal job completed by Marcelino and his team on our cabinets! My husband and I genuinely could not be more please with the entire process and the end result. We HIGHLY recommend Marcelino and his crew for any job! They were excellent at communication, quoting the scope of work (cost wise) accurately, timely in showing up daily, hardworking, very detail oriented, trustworthy and overall a pleasure to work with. We hired them to paint our cabinets throughout our new home as we disliked the cherrywood color they were. Marcelino came for a consultation and being the artist he is, I told him I wanted his opinion of what we should do color wise on our cabinets. He came up with a vision for the colors on our cabinets and island, provided samples for us to approve and made our cabinets into a true masterpiece. They are now one of our favorite parts of our new home and a focal point. A few other things I'd like to mention they did so well is: keeping the wood grain look on our cabinets (we didn't want a flat paint look so they hand brush stroked), they very thoroughly covered everything in our home and were very respectful of our property, the job did take a little longer then expected at two weeks vs one week but it was only due to how long the process takes and the quality of work they provide so we didn't mind. They are worth every penny and we look forward to hopefully getting to use them again in the future! Thank you Marcelino and team for turning our house into a home we absolutely love and a place where everything matches and coordinates now! read more

I have a split rail fence in my back yard separating my lawn from my pool. We want the gate operative at all times, as it serves as a safety feature for small children. Recently, the latch was broken, and we worked hard to replace it with a heavier latch. However, the latch had to be relocated on the post, leaving two big, ugly holes where the prior latch had been. Our handyman, who replaced the latch plugged the large holes with white Bondo. It worked great, but looked sooo ugly. Bondo does not accept stain (trust me, we tried). My husband then had the idea to locate a painter/artist who could paint the Bondo areas to make them look like the rest of the posts (wood). This is not something that your typical DIY homeowner can do, so I went online and was lucky enough to find Marcelino, of Marcelino Custom Finishes. Not only is he a great artist, but he is super nice and personable, and reasonably priced for the work that he does. I feel fortunate to have found Marcelino. Even if you get close to the fence post, you can't even see where the Bondo hides beneath his work (and I am picky). Thanks Marcelino, for the fantastic job you did for us. My wife and I are remodeling our home both in the interior and exterior. We are working with several companies and a contractor. The experience we had with Marcelino and his crew was outstanding on every level. They repainted our kitchen and family room cabinets. The work was completed on time. The cleanup was immaculate. Their attention to detail (filling in cracks, smoothing imperfections, adjusting the cabinets when needed) was beyond our expectations. They did a great job protecting our furniture etc so nothing was damaged. I was also very impressed by the fact that his crew was either on time or early everyday (6 days)!!! I've never experienced that before. Marcelino stopped by several times during the project to make sure everything was progressing as planned and inspected the quality of work as well. We would hire him again in a heartbeat! read more

Super pleased with Marcelino and his team, who did a whole house paint, inside and out, including an inside wood wall "whitewash" and distress, and a fireplace with 80s gold/brass trim that they redid in black. We hired Marcelino to refinish our kitchen and breakfast nook cabinets to match our island lighter finish. I was referred to him by a friend who did the exact same treatment to her kitchen and she raved about her experience with his company. It took about 2 weeks from start to finish. I thought for sure the place would be a mess after it was done, but they taped everything off for the dust and once they were finished, there wasn't much of a mess. His workers were so friendly and accommodating. We are thrilled with the results. Both my husband and I keep saying that we should have done it earlier. I highly recommend his company and would use them again for any future cabinet projects. read more

Marcelino painted and stained our new staircase railings. We are so happy with his work. His stain-matching is spot on, the color separation lines are perfect, and the finish is excellent. Perfection. It is not easily attained, but Master Artist/Painter Marcelino Da Silva achieves perfection in his work. He transformed our living room. It had, as realtors say, good bones, but a raftered wood ceiling was dark and drab. Under his expert hand, it became bright, engaging, a beautifully textured, real, "Sistine Ceiling" in our own home. So easy to work with this good man. His prices are fair. His assistant: friendly, skilled, and accommodating. Every consideration was given to protecting our home and furnishings. So fortunate to have found the ultimate in custom painting. I recommend Marcelino without reservation. If you saw the before and after photos, your jaw would drop. read more

Marcelino and his crew transformed our kitchen by painting the cabinets a lighter color. They look like they came from the factory that way now. Working with Marcelino was great, he is a craftsman and is very clear about the process and expectations. His crew is meticulous and respectful. I hope I can figure out how to attach photos so you can see, and know they look 100 times better in person, the photos didn't do them justice. We just had our cabinets stained and I couldn't be more pleased. Marcelino was a pleasure to work with and extremely professional. Most of the bids I received, the person would come in, count the cabinets and give me a quote, not Marcelino, he actually took the time to tell me about his business, show me pictures of previous work he had done and go over the process of what would happen if I hired him. I was very impressed. The two gentlemen that worked on my cabinets were amazing. Jorge and Everett were friendly, polite, informative and professional. They did an excellent job with every detail.
