Unfortunately this was due to miscommunication as they thought I only wanted to replace 75% of the curb facing siding... not sure why anyone would do that but okay miscommunication happens. Installation: where it was straight shiplap across the front, turned out fine. The window was promised to have a symmetrical thin border across as I was sent photos from the James Hardy website... attached you will see instead it is geometrically cut out to avoid the flashing... could have been made thin and uniform throughout however I was told that it was not possible. Many neighbors have gone through other companies and have the same sized retrofitted window but had the siding all done in the same manner. Mine is the only one that looks like this. Even the installer said "I think it looks cool, we never see it cut like that..." but when it comes to housing clean cut and uniform works for us. I was told later, this couldn't have been known before hand until the old siding and window edges were taken down. However the installer knew it from day 1 and said so to me. I believe that whoever the sales rep is should always be forthcoming with the possibilities of outcomes and what it may look like vs showing examples from the company website yet delivering something else. When I went up on the roof to paint the fresh wood I found multiple spots that were not caulked properly or nailed down. (See attached photos). These were fixed later when they came out to install and fix the remaining portion of siding that I had to pay for as well that I thought was included in the original quote. Again pleased with most of it but a major focal point is the front window which did not come out to expectations of what was originally shown. They were on time every day and worked quickly and always with a smile. Then completely cleaned up each evening. Their attention to detail was amazing and all of the little subtleties they added really made the difference. Circle Vents, small window corner siding and boxes for all electrical. Anytime I had a request and I'm a detail person, they responded with a smile and quickly addressed it. We also replaced our termite filled fascia with Hardie fiber cement material and they trimmed it out beautifully and now will last our lifetime. Frankly, we couldn't be more pleased at our good fortune to have Rolando and Jeanne step up and tackle the project. My father-in-law was a carpenter and general contractor and my husband learned much about his trade first hand. My husband does much of the work himself, but occasionally he needs the skill and craft of a pro. Finding a contractor that can live up to my husband's standard of craftsmanship and detail is nearly impossible. But after our estimate appointment and explaining expectations, we knew R&J was the right team. The day of work, Rolando showed up with a small team to tackle the project. Sal was a terrific project manager, and was responsive, available, and made multiple trips to the job throughout the duration. We had Tex-Cote done, and we couldn't be happier with the results. They also installed a new sliding glass door and two new windows. Both were done with minimal drama. We did have one or two glitches, but the fixes were handled promptly and completely. They did multiple job walks, and everyone showed up when they said they would and worked hard. They cleaned our property up every night before leaving. A special shout out to Roselyn in the office. A technician arrived prompt at 10 AM. His name was Myles and showed me the ANLIN windows and I was enamored by the heat lamp demonstration. After answering all my questions he measured the windows and I was pleasantly surprised with the price for the quality. The following week they came out and replaced all the windows.
