My company rented this place out for a celebration and it was great! They had a grill set up on the deck near the court area for burgers made to order, and a good selection of drinks. But of course, you're really here for the volleyball and this place delivers! There's even a cute patio area with games (Jenga, chess, etc) for those scrubs who don't want to or can't play THE GAME. Granted, it can be pretty hot outside but this is Houston after all, so might as well grit your teeth and play since that's what you came here for! Most of the place (except the inside seating area where you can hide out by the AC vents) has a view of the courts. Plenty of parking as well, though the gravel on the lots makes me feel bad for my car. Definitely a place I'd recommend to everyone, especially when the weather turns nice!

Terrible place. Liquor isn't served. Owner was rude. The place was empty and now we know why.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. Nice volleyball courts with a convenient bar. Great place for groups.

I had…read moreheard good things for years, and I remember driving past it a couple times and not seeing it or any signage. Even this time the GPS took us to an entrance that had us going the wrong way down a one-way, but we eventually figured it out I will say that the parking isn't all that great, but we were able to find a spot. If the parking lot is full you should be able to find street parking nearby Kanpai Club is a sister location to Handos. They share a kitchen and you can walk through an inside door access either. You can find the same cocktails and bites from Handos on the Kanpai menu, but there's also additional drinks and bites The bar feels like a Japanese Izakaya. It's a narrow space resembling a Japanese outdoor bar. It's intimately lit and well decorated. We did have to wait for two spots to open up, but that didn't take too long The bartenders were friendly, professional, and efficient. We went on a Friday night (fairly late), and they had two dedicated bartenders The cocktails were fun and were beautifully crafted. Most were served in novelty glassware. You can order classic cocktails, but both Kanpai and Hando offer a variety of signature cocktails. Most having some sort of Japanese or Asian fusion. They have beer, wine, and extensive sake list, as well as green tea and other nonalcoholic options The cocktails were tasty. The only one I was iffy on was their Espresso martini. It was poured from a machine and I guess there were having issues with it. The presentation was phenomenal. There was a roasted marshmallow garnish. The drink itself was far too Smokey in flavor than I like, or at least in terms of my espresso martinis The Yuzu Kosho fries were incredible. The flavors really hit the spot. The Okinawa Potato salad was both questionable to looks and and to eat lol. This purple mound of potato's had an interesting taste, look, and consistency. It wasn't bad, just... interesting and new Some tips: If you can't find this spot from the street, look for Handos. It's part of this restaurant Ask the bartender about the happy hour menu. And most nights they're open until 12am, but on Fridays and Saturdays they are open until 2am If you order food online (technically from Hando's) you can get 10% off using code: HANDO10. This is part of their "Hando and Chill" special Cheers!!

Our server, Camille, took our order and then would disappear for 30+ minutes at a time. At one point, when we asked where she had been, she simply said she was "walking around." Her overall approach to serving us felt extremely nonchalant and inattentive. The atmosphere also made us feel as though the level of attention you receive depends on how much you're spending--particularly whether you're purchasing bottles. The servers seemed more focused on creating a bottle-service experience than providing attentive restaurant service. It gave the evening a very transactional, "pay for attention" feeling rather than genuine hospitality. What really sealed the experience for us happened after we had already paid our bill. A host approached our table and essentially said, "Can you leave now? We need to seat someone right now." There was no gracious transition, no "thank you for dining with us," and no polite explanation--just an abrupt request to leave. For a restaurant with such a beautiful ambiance and good food, the service and hospitality were incredibly disappointing. Guests should feel welcomed and valued from the moment they sit down until the moment they leave, regardless of whether they're ordering bottles.

This location is casual and has plenty of seating (tables, bar + outdoor seating). You order at the counter and typically wait around 20 minutes for the pizza to be ready. It can definitely get busy which makes parking a bit tricky, but I've always managed to get parking in the lot. My go-to is the fancy backpacker. I've only tried the Pepperoni Madness and Fancy Backpacker. The crust is perfectly thin and the toppings pair well together. I would also recommend adding pepperoni to the Fancy Backpacker. Gypsy Poet is always consistent with the taste and service, you can always expect a good experience in both aspects. I think it definitely lives up to the title of having the best pizza in Houston and is one of my favorite go-to dinner spots!

We ordered the Pepperoni Madness ($17.99), which is topped with hot honey and was delicious. We also got the Cappellone ($17.99), which comes with house tomato sauce, fior di latte, mozzarella, portobello mushroom caps, shallots, and Italian sausage. It was equally delicious. The dough had a nice chew, and the crust kept that consistency throughout. This was the only pizza spot we hit up during our Houston trip, and I'm glad we chose this place. I would definitely recommend it if you're in the mood for quality, artisan-style pizza. * Indoor tables are first come first serve

It's located right at 19th St. and Shepherd near the light. There's a small angled parking lot that can be tight when people park along the fence. It looks like a cute tiny A-frame home with a few patio tables in the front. The inner area has about 6-7 high tables. It's nice and clean inside. The vibe feels similar to H-Town Brewing Co. but on a smaller scale. You can also sit at the bar. I didn't really like the high tables/chairs. They're not as comfortable. It was hot out, and there are mosquitos, so we sat inside. I ordered the salmon plate for steak night. The drinks here are ok, and since I don't really drink, I was looking for mocktail options. In this era, most places have mocktail options with brand alternatives like Ritual, Seedlip and Lyre's or at the least, something with juice, Topo Chico and simple syrup. The female bartender made me a NA margarita which was great. I liked that she didn't make it too sweet or too tart which happens with mocktails that don't have alternatives and are mostly juice or lemon. On the other hand, when I ordered a second, the guy bartender made it too sweet. I didn't like his version. For the alcoholic versions, they seem to have good cocktails, wine, beer and flights. They also have daily specials. Aside from the steak night, they don't serve food here. It wouldn't be my first choice of bars in this area.

I also enjoyed a sweet frozen cocktail topped with a fresh mint leaf that was perfect for a warm afternoon. Fun drinks, great value, and a unique experience. They have a food truck outside that serves food, from what we were informed. Thank you Tre for inviting me here. They did not have any food menus for the truck at the time of my visit. Happy hour start at 2pm, and the $1 Tiny Tini's start at 6pm.
