Great service, small bar, costumer service 10/10, The Ambiance very chill definitely recommend. Will be coming here again oh yeah the bartenders we're awesome !!

EighteenTwenty has been around for a few years already, but the venue itself dates back to the early 70s when it served as a brothel. Just ask cutie with a booty bartender, Michael, or the owner. They have plenty of entertaining stories, and never get tired of sharing them with patrons. Since it's on the outskirts of downtown, regulars consist of peeps that live by nearby lofts, those headed to a game at Minute Maid/Toyota Center, or pre-partying before hitting up Warehouse Live for a good show. What I love best about EighteenTwenty is the look, feel and amazing service. The place is reminicent of "Cheers," and come often, everybody will know your name. Dark mahogany walls, black leather furniture, initimate candel light a few tvs, pool table and jukebox keep the small crowd at ease. But things can get wild here. If you plan on hosting a party of some sort, EighteenTwenty is the kind of bar that you and your gang could easily "take over." As for the menu, Michael can make a mean dirty martini ... and they have a fair selection of beer--Lone Star for peeps like me. Their french bread pizza is the bomb.com, along with their regular pizza, White Castle Burgers, popcorn and other small menu items. HR: 4-8pm (and during all Houston sports team game times) w/dollar off drinks Added info: They open early if there's a ballgame at Minute Maid. The last Friday of every month, the bar hosts an all-you-can-play game night ($15) with the adjacent Joystix arcade selling company. They do have a private lot that is catercorner to the bar, but you have to pay for parking during games.

Nice bar! Was pleasantly surprised when I walked it. Smelled clean and the leather chairs and couches were nice, not torn or cracked.

Nice place location wise but it would be even better (hence 3 stars) if they had a happy hour comparable to other bars nearby.

The lighting is dark, intimate, and behind every level and door, there is something else going on. There is an element of discovery in every corner and a new adventure on every floor. Ever watch the movie Tron? There are some areas of BCD that feel incredibly futuristic with neon-lit interiors and a legitimate sci-fi feel in some areas. The areas are ass follows: The main bar with a DJ and a spacious dance floor, the red room with a visualizer setup of big bass and pulsating lights, the gold room with a speakeasy feel and a curated cocktail menu, with the secret room that is a unique space behind a certain set of doors. Most of the music on the main bar is good, the DJs are energetic, and the bartenders are efficient while professional. It's not the easiest place to photograph anything, but the different (hidden) spaces make it a worthy destination for discovery. The one area that I don't love is that they rock automatic gratuity. I do love how diverse the crowd is on the weekends, which is a testament to the city. Drinks are solid, but the speakeasy drinks are the ones that stand out the most. The latter definitely comes at a price, but beware that some drinks may have all the presence but not enough of the substance. __________ My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/behind-closed-doors-houston?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! I forgot their names unfortunately. My receipt said Zachary but not sure which waiter that was. Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt.
