Family owned hidden gem AND.... Pet Friendly!! When traveling to Carpentaria to hang out in a beach town, having Thai food wasn't on our minds. But, from the street, the huge outdoor patio with traditional Thai booths, we were intrigued. So, we checked out the menu and we were hooked! We sat outside at a booth, with our pooch. The options were abundant and the flavors were great!! I was SHOCKED at how many shrimp came with my curry. The dipping sauce for the egg rolls was HOME MADE!!! It was SO good!! I've never had anything like it!! The husband was so pleasant, kind and attentive. The wife helped run the place and was also very kind. Their son didn't say much but, very polite and kind. If you're passing by Carpentaria, you really need to give this place a try!! read more

Came here after getting in from Phoenix. We were hungry and we definitely ate first before the camera. Everything we ordered was super delicious! We got the Tom Kha, chicken pad Thai, drunken noddles with beef and pork fried rice. I'd come back again when we visit. Service was great also and the atmosphere was cute, nice little place to sit outside. read more

I came to this location on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm and there was a few parking spots left in front. My sister and I were immediately seated and there was lots of seats to choose from but don't let that deter you the food was so fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They have inside seating and outdoor seating. We sat in their outdoor patio area. We ordered the combination special pad Thai and chicken satay and we did split both of them. I will first say the sides they come with are just superb. Im obsessed with the soup and the egg rolls. They were all hot and fresh I didn't get the vibe that anything was left sitting I literally felt like the food went from the pot to my plate it was so fresh and good! The pad Thai was really good I would def order it again and the chicken satay was just as good I would say the peanut sauce for the satay was actually lacking in flavor but no worries there was lots of other sauces I can dip it in. Overall I loved it here and I would recommend to give it a try if you're craving Thai. read more

This is my favorite place to go to in Carpinteria. It has a lovely outdoor patio and I always had a consistently good meal there. It is within walking distance to the beach and the shops on Linden Avenue. The service is quick and the owners and staff are very friendly. If I am camping for 5 nights in Carpinteria then I probably eat there 3 times. I love that it is within walking distance to the campground. read more

Back when I interviewed with Procore, I had a lovely lunch at Siam Elephant. Their Pad See Ew is vibrant and flavorful, which I liked since it had a strong soy flavor and paired well with tender broccoli. It was also interesting the lunch came with a some crispies and rice, but I think their Thai flavors really shine and I would stick to just the Pad See Ew. read more

Siam Elephant Thai Restaurant - Pad See Ew Lunch - just get a regular portion without the crispies and the rice! - Thai Near Me - Carpinteria, California

Incredibly kind and helpful servers. Had a creamy, delicious red curry with chicken and added broccoli. Plated and presented beautifully! Loved the flavor of the sauce and the way the veggies were cooked. It was mild just as a FYI. I like curries mild and spicy and in between. The chicken could have been a bit more tender but otherwise wonderful. Nice atmosphere for a date (especially the patio) or families. Great for a lunch or dinner on your own too or takeout! read more

The best tasting Thai food for years!! I have been coming to this Thai place for the last ten years or so. Every time I visit Carpinteria this is the place I look forward to dine in. Their flavors are authentic, their portions are ideal, and they have great deals on their menu. I highly recommend you try this place! Their service is efficient, friendly, and always accommodating. The restaurant has indoor & outdoor seating with a zen beachy vibe. Dinner time can get busy but totally worth a nice dinner date and a beach stroll after. read more

The panang curry was a little different from what I'm used to but it was actually really tasty, which is a lot to say for Thai food the SB County area! Nothing super special about the pad see ew but still better than most places in Santa Barbara. Service was great too, they were on point with filling up my partner's water cup haha. Would definitely come back! read more

Food is amazing!Great server as well. Like the ambience! A to go place for the family.

Stopped by this restaurant on way to LA. I was very disappointed with every item I ordered. The quality of food was very low and the food was blend. Within an hour, I had an upset stomach. Will not be returning and do not recommend. read more

This restaurant was not what I expected at all. I usually order something simple when I try new Thai restaurants like pad Thai or pad see ewe but this place did not impress. I went with a few others and together we ordered pad Thai, pad see ewe, yellow curry, and "spicy" noodles. My pad Thai did not have much flavor. It also did come with any veggies like pad Thai usually does. I had to add some yellow curry to give it some flavor. However, the portion was good. I also ordered the Thai iced tea with boba and it was super good! The yellow curry was not spicy at all. It tasted decent but no spice. They also do not ask what spicy level you'd like for the curry. I guess it just comes as is and we have no option to adjust the spice. The "spicy noodles" were not spicy at all. It also has two peppers next to it on the menu so you'd think it'd be spicy but no. The pad see ewe was probably the best dish. It tasted pretty good and had some more flavor than the pad Thai. The servers were great and friendly so I appreciate that. read more

We went here on a Thursday night. It was quiet, no one around. We thought they were closed, but they were not. They people working there were very friendly. My husband has some questions about the menu and the waiter answered all his questions. For appetizer we ordered the chicken satay and it was very good. The two sauces they brought with it were both amazing. My husband had the Pad Prik Tai Dam. It looked and smelled delicious. He ate it all so I'm assuming it was delicious but I didn't try it. I had the spicy noodles with beef and medium spice. I was served a cup of soup before my food came. Oh my goodness, it was good. It was called Chicken Tom Kha soup. I've never had a Thai soup like this before but it was awesome!! I wish I would have ordered more. When my entree came, it looked and smelled delicious. It also TASTED delicious! The beef was so fresh and cooked perfect. There wasn't any fat on the meat and it was so tender. It had the perfect spice to eat and it was amazing!!! I ate and ate until I couldn't take one more bite. I was stuffed!!! I will definitely order that dish again next time I visit. Check this place out. It is a small little restaurant with a small outside area to eat at as well as inside. The prior working there were very nice, friendly and know how to cook authentic Thai food!! read more

Seriously the best Tom ka soup I have ever had! I love the food here so much!!! I also love sitting outside and the staff is very nice

I think fusion-style Thai food. I found something in the food and they changed immediately. But not too sorry and not offer anything. I wanted to refund but just eat. Anyway, every food is fine. read more

Pretty good experience of authentic Thai food. Definitely a bit higher end on the presentation. The service was fast and pleasant. Definitely will go back. The pictures really don't do the place much justice. I walked in expecting a darker place. When in fact it's pretty vibrant and pleasant. There's this one extremely large picture of a Thai village. I could stare at the thing all day trying to decipher it. Haha. Orders a beef salad and had the chicken eggplant dish. Both were tasty. This place serves large dishes but definitely not a family style place as they are smaller portions than most other Thai places. But, hey! You trade quality for quantity. Worth the trade sometimes. I committed the sin of not ordering Pad Thai. Blame the diet gots of spring so that I can get in shape. Definitely worth the meal. Decent price for a nicer dine-in location. Small and cute. Enjoy! read more

We ordered the duck curry and the pineapple fried rice. I felt like the portions on the curry were very small for the prize, and I felt like the fried rice had too much curry powder on it, which I had never had on pineapple fried rice before and I'm not sure I would want it on it again.! read more

I ate there with my family recently. The food was good. The service left a lot to be desired. It took them forever to take our orders. More than once, they said they'd be right back to take our orders, but then didn't come back, and we had to ask them again. If the restaurant had been full and crowded, this would be more forgiveable, but it wasn't full or crowded. read more

If it weren't for Thai food, I don't believe I would have survived college. I would have wasted away to simply dust in a corner of the library. When you're broke or on a budget, Thai food is one of those few affordable meals that every student turns to besides pizza or Top Ramen. Now that I am no longer a college student, yet still broke, I always find myself craving Thai cuisine on the regular. For me, Siam Elephant is one of the top Thai joints in Santa Barbara County and competes with Rice By Mama down south in Ventura. I often visit Siam Elephant for their spectacular lunch special which is offered Tuesday thru Friday from 11am until they close until dinner at 2:30pm. For under $11 you receive a cup of soup (usually Chicken Tom Yum) or side salad (FYI: dressing is a runny mayo), steamed white rice, crispy fried wontons, a vegetable spring roll AND your main entree (costs $9.50 or $11 if your choice of meat is shrimp). They have an entire variety of entree choices ranging from noodles, to curries, to specialty Thai dishes. I cannot help myself and always order their Pad Thai because their tamarind sauce they use is perfection--tangy and sweet, yet a kick of sourness with some lime added. The peanuts add a pleasant crunch to the al dente noodles. The lunch special is a large portion so I usually request a box to take half home for the following day, and indulge in either sweet Mango Sticky Rice or savory Coconut Ice Cream for dessert. Siam is located right off Linden Street in Carpinteria's main street beach town. Simply look for the wooden elephants at the entrance as you head toward the beach. There is also a large outdoor patio to take advantage of on those 350 or so days of sunshine! read more

Always friendly service and great food. I especially like their Tom Yum soup and panang curry. Very convenient for take out.

The food is pretty good, the staff is nice, authentic Thai Cuisine but Americanized a bit. One thing I don't like, the price of a Thai Tea w/ Boba is a whopping $8.75 Everybody knows, Thai Tea should cost $4.25 maximum, regardless of whether or not it has ice or boba. Keep up the great food and maybe throttle back on the Iced Tea price gouging read more

During the 2020 Crazed Covid Restaurant Damage Control, the Team at Siam Elephant has maintained an even keel. The quality, flavor and freshness of their delightful menu choices has maintained the quality we have enjoyed for years. Their patio is cozy and provides a good neighborhood vibe, good service and they are 100% into keeping everything clean and safe. They even take extra care by wiping/sanitizing your credit card for you prior to returning it to you. Their Take-Away or as some say Thai To-Go remains excellent every time. Great job guys. It will be really nice to sit back inside, won't be long! Enjoy the patio or their Take-Away! read more

i was here a long time ago when we were camping at Carpinteria State beach but it's been some time and couldn't recall how the food was. We stopped by for lunch, got here early around 11:15, good thing because the place was packed by 11:45. We started off with chicken sate. The chicken was full of flavor and the peanut sauce was delicious. The lunch specials were priced fairly at $8.99 and the portions were large. I had the spicy fried noodle, my one daughter had the cashew nut chicken, my other daughter had the pad prik tia dam with shrimp and my wife had the prik king. All the dishes had a lot of flaver and were each unique. Presentation was very nice as well. The inside of the restaurant is small but quaint. They also have a nice patio area. read more

If I could give this place a zero, I would. Ever since Covid started, I heard so many people complaining about getting food poisoning from this place! I've had Thai food in so many different cities along the coast, from La Jolla to Carmel-by-the-Sea, so I have a lot to compare. This rates in my top favorites because the food is excellent, the people working there are efficient and friendly, and they let people bring their dogs to the patio. The lunch specials are generous and such a great price. Easy to find parking too. read more
