Once I arrived, the intake process took less than 10 minutes, and Shurway helped to set me up with a rental car through Enterprise, which was only 4 blocks away. Communication was excellent as I received a phone call a couple days later to inform me of the repairs that were needed and a timeframe for the car to be completed by. My car was finished before the estimated date of completion and I was able to drive in with my rental car and leave with my own vehicle. Repairs were complete and my car was cleaned inside and out. I have been fortunate to not have the need for a body shop repair in over twenty five years or more. Recently my new car and a steel fence decided to do a tango with each other resulting in a a neat new detail of 2018 RDX. From my first interaction with Vinny and Christine I knew I was going to be using a top shelf business establishment. The place is quite clean and organized for a body shop. They always made time during their busy day to walk and talk me through the entire process. The only hiccup in the job was when the wrong piece came in and extended the job. They actually even touched up some minor door dings and scratches unrelated to the accident and damage and even left us a container of touch-up paint. I really dont know about the quality of their work. I never got that far due to rude and misinformation. MY 2021 Mazda was in an accident so I asked the Mazda dealer to recommend some Body shops, one of which was Shurway it was close to the dealer. So I called them and arranged for the car to be towed into their shop the next day. 10 AM I get a call from the Tow truck with the car on board that Shurway couldn't accept it because they didn't have the room for iT' I couldn't believe it!!!!! I had to get in contact with the insurance carrier and the tow truck that had the car to re-direct it. After hours on the phone, I finally got it sent to another shop to be repaired. I contacted Shurway and they said because MY car wasn't drivable they couldn't bring it in because they didn't have the storage space. BS MY car had body damage but is driveable. WHY couldn't they have called me and checked with me as to the condition of the car GUESS they really didnt care about my time or me as a person. So, my first impression was that these guys were good - reasonable rates, knowledgeable, understanding of urgent needs. They made the necessary repair/install, in a timely manner for a good price. But a few days later, I noticed a problem related to the repair, and when I brought it to their attention, they said, "huh ... well, we're too busy right now ... bring it back next week" But next week, they were still too busy ... I learned to live with the inconvenience of the situation (it wasn't as urgent as the initial repair, so I was trying to be reasonable myself) ... but now it's escalated, and the same problem has grown worse - to the point of urgency; and I'm getting the same BS response, "we're too busy, bring it in next week" No, they won't make an appointment, just "bring it in" So, no, they've lost their 5-star rating ... and gained a 1-star rating ... but because of the multiple 1-star events, overall, I give them a 2. Very disappointed - especially since I've recommended them to others. read more

I needed my front bumper replaced and was recommended here by the Honda service people across the street. I spoke with the guy, must've been the owner, he was very luke warm. Anyway, so I asked him for an estimate he said $1000. $1000 to replace the front bumper cover of my civic! I thought that was a bit pricey being that I have been doing research and knew that the price of a bumper cover was under $300 ...so his labor cost just to install the bumper was over $700!!! Being impulsive and a new car owner I almost went with them even though their price was high. Also I bought my car at Bay Ridge Honda so I was trusting their recommended person but the guy seemed uninterested in my business. I left and while driving back home I decided to check out a local auto body shop in my neighborhood, this guy charged me $400 for everything...(genuine Honda part and labor cost ) and he did a fantastic job! This place is a scam! I sent my car in to have a wheel alignment and the manager vinnie said it would be finished by the end of the day. When i picked up the car i noticed the allignment was worse than it was when i sent the car in. The manager said that i had a suspenion problem and he did all he could with the machine. So i took his word and brought my car to the offical service department of where i purchased it at volkswagon and told them to check the cars alignment and see if its the suspension that is off. Later on that day the manager from vw service called me and said that the suspension is fine all i needed was a simple wheel alignment. What i figured out is that shurway is so busy with clients that they will look for ways ro rush the job just to make a quick buck. I bet money that they didnt even put my car up on the machine they simply loosened the alignment even more. Whatever i paid $100 dollars for no reason to shurway. The staff at Shurway needs to take up a class on business ethics and understand that in the long run being a corrupt organization and trying to hustle money out of customers will actually hurt the business. Just like this review in the long run will cost shurway an opportunity of about $ 1,000 because there will be people looking for repair shops online and they will read this review and it will make them uncomfortable to service their vehicle here so they will simply move on to the next repair shop. I hope the person that reads this will actually take my word and move on to the next service shop. Shurway is not a monopoly there are hundreds of repair shops in NYC and im sure that there are actual shops which demonstrate professional service and value their name over making a quick buck. read more
