    Love the name!

Hit the food truck at the San Jose Cinco de Mayo car show. Super fast and hot. Excellent presentation and absolutely delicious. I could eat these seven days a week. Tortilla had cheese grilled on it. Yum. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The chorizo mixed with shrimp cilantro and onions was just out of this world. Service was friendly, fast and pleasant. The food truck was clean and look nice.

Finally got to try Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy after seeing it all over my feed! I was craving something cheesy so I went for the Super Chicken Quesadilla and it definitely satisfied all my cravings. Silly enough to say, I'm not a huge seafood person or a fan of shrimp but my quesadilla was loaded with shrimp and I enjoyed it. They definitely gave a generous amount of both well seasoned shrimp and chicken. In every bite, the cheese was just oozing out and I got the best of both worlds. I loved the melty cheese pull. The sauces were delicious and well paired with the quesadilla as well. The portion was huge and well worth the price. There was a long line since this food truck is quite popular but service is quick and efficient. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes and came out piping hot. Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy lives up to the hype and this food truck is a must try!

Menu - Gordon Biersch Night Market (Summer 2025)

I first found out about Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy through the weekly summer night markets at Gordon Biersch Brewery, where they serve from their food truck. We tried their Chop Cheese and Cheese Steak, both of which are incredibly juicy, flavorful, and filling. Even a few shrimp skeptics in the group we went with loved both of these, since the shrimp was fresh and seasoned well. Orders come out piping hot and relatively quickly (10-20 minutes) even though there are always long lines for their truck. Note that one order of either the Chop Cheese or Cheese Steak is enough for 2 people to share. Both of these orders were sliced in half for more convenient sharing as well.

Just pull up, you won't be disappointed !! I was really excited to try the ramen after seeing one of their instagram videos. Since they didn't have it this time around we decided to order three different things from the menu to try anyway. The vampiro (taco) is phenomenal. Flavorful and fresh. The burger was great too, a bit much for me but still delicious. Chef is generous with size portions for the price. The individual who took our order was nice & chill. I really enjoy stumbling across places like this. I can't wait to share with friends. It's was bomb.

Tried this at the sharks game on Saturday night. We ordered the big papi and a soft drink. Took a while for the order to be ready but was worth the wait. Really good seasoning, sauce and the shrimps were also great. With the cheese and the bacon easily enough for two to share. Would definitely also give the food truck a try.

Freaking adore these dudes. So friendly, courteous and chil AF! Love that they do pop up locations and tell you way in advance via spcial media. You get all the flavor in anything you order, that is definitely not a category they're lacking in. Vampire tacos per usual, ordered their chopped cheese (which is massive, but you can also bring your own fries), their hotboy was good, too, and their himbatchi plate was good too! The combo with shrimp, chorizo, meats is smackin! I do wish you can just order the shrimp for protein if anything, that was fire!

Grabbed dinner at this food truck during Berryessa Night Market's "Say Cheese! Street Feast" this past Friday. About 8-10 food vendors selling creative, melty gooey menu items, including birria grilled cheese and cheesy loaded baked potatoes. Got the chopped cheese sandwich from Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy, a delicious sub filled with a mix of plump and juicy shrimp, crumbled beef patty, veggies, yummy seasoning, and lots of stretchy cheesy goodness. Truly a unique and tasty concoction, so massive it has to be served wrapped in foil, then placed inside a food container. I was definitely impressed and satisfied with the chopped cheese, the most expensive item on this food truck's menu. Yet it's the crabby taco they sold out of less than 2 hours into the event... I see that as a good sign, multiple popular dishes, gotta try that next time. Also, efficient service, hardly any waits, and plenty of seating at Garden at the Flea. It was an awesome cheese fest, with live music entertainment and a carefree atmosphere. But this food truck alone was worth the trip out.

Thank God for food trucks. At my job we usually have different food trucks on Tuesdays and Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy pulled up today. Let me tell you something, everything was great from the staff to the food to the wait time. Ordered the Vampiro taco with chorizo and cheese and that was a fantastic starter. Perfect crunch, the chorizo had my mouth watering and the shrimp was great. That was just a little appetizer before I dived into the Chopped Cheese Burrito. Awwwww man this thing was THICCC!!! I could only eat half and had to save the rest for later. Absolutely DELICIOUS Burrito, one of the best I've ever had. I can't wait to try some more items on my next visit. Thank you guys for coming to the campus

    Vampiro tacos....flavorful and satisfying
    K B.

We went to a pop up off of Tully Road in San Jose. We ordered the three Vampiro tacos for our drive back to Monterey. The tacos were large, crunchy and stuffed with flavorful chorizo, massive shrimp, pickled onions, light cheese, cilantro and a beautifully spicy salsa on the side! Every bite was delicious and everything you can ask for in a shrimp taco. We were very satisfied and happy we came. Next time we hope to try their other dishes. Gian, the owner, is awesome and clearly has a pulse on Bay Area food tastes and flavor. I heard they were also featured on Check Please! That's quite a feat and speaks for itself. Can't wait to seek them out at their next pop up event!

Finally getting around to do this review on one of my favorite food trucks here in my hometown. The owner of Shrimp'n Ain't Eazy is an East San Jose native, which is where he's located. Coming from someone that's from the same neighborhood, it's always a special feeling seeing somebody that grew up close to home thrive. It's a Bay Area trait to have some hustle, but it's a true San Jose thing to give back and pay tribute to your community. I've seen the truck posted at the Mt. Pleasant Shopping Center and Hillview Park. The owner does lil pop ups around town for social events at times, as well. He's the one that's taken my orders the times I've gone and is a chill dude. It takes a minute for the food to be prepared, but it's usually just him and one other person that helps make the food and takes orders so just be patient. The food is worth it. He's known for his shrimp and chorizo taco, which I actually never had yet, but I did try the vampiro tacos (which I remember being full off of and hella good) and also the chopped cheese. I never had chopped cheese before until trying it from here and let me just say, chopped cheese with shrimp??... As someone who loves shrimp, this was a game changer. A great component to the chopped cheese. Plus his orange sauce just made everything on point. I never been to New York before and always heard about their chopped cheese, so it's a win to have something close to home whenever I'm craving that.

Pimpurrito (with maybe 1/5 or 1/6 eaten)
    Alison J.

I had the Pimpurrito when they were at Clandestine Brewing yesterday. It was huge and delicious! Large, delicious shrimp inside, with plenty of chorizo. I wasn't given a lot of salsa but I can figure that out on my own. Plenty for multiple people or multiple meals.

Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

We were seated at the booth in the back, which I have always admired, but I now realize it has its disadvantages. It is right by the bathroom, which got a bit of traffic on our visit. That's not such a big deal. The bigger concerns I have are: (1) there is no cushioning for those of us with little of our own and (2) you have to sit up fairly straight and if you want to lean against the wall, you're likely to rub shoulders with the wall hanging. Next time I will ask to be seated someplace else as there were two 2-tops outside. The food is always made from quality ingredients and I'm glad to see they are experimenting with pricing and quantity. I did not see mention of their daily happy hour, which was a feature of last year's visit so that may be gone. However, they now have a five tacos platter which offers relatively good value from the menu prices. This would be good for sharing for two people I think. But that is not what we ordered on this visit. My wife ordered two vegetarian (verduras) tacos and the Blood Orange/Jalapeno mocktail. I ordered the huevos rancheros. Unlike Luna, tortilla chips and salsa are not complimentary. So we let our appetites build. Our food arrived fairly quickly, so that was good and we dug in. My wife had ordered two extra eggs (extra charge) to accompany her tacos, and I think she was glad she did. The vegetarian tacos were not terribly generous for the price. My huevos rancheros came in a neatly stacked pile. My wife thought to ask if they had a hot sauce and they do! So we requested their hottest version. It was a welcome addition to the meal (gratis). A little vinegary, but plenty of heat. The mocktail was quite good. Like Spindrift and some other sparkling waters, it is not sweetened, but it had a good amount of strained blood orange juice, and you could taste the fresh jalapeño. I wonder if they have tried adding mint to this as I think it would be welcome. Maybe next time I will ask if they can experiment with me by adding some mint.

It got so loud at one point that we couldn't even talk with each other without having to practically scream. The decoration is beautiful though and feels like you're at a Mexican mom's fancy kitchen. Service was not good at all. We had to wait over 15 minutes to get our order taken and then we watched our food stand on the counter top for another 5 minutes. Once we were served we were never checked up on until the end when we had to flag them down to get the check. I don't think we'll be coming back.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

Sip Happens... and So Does a Solid Taco Night…read more My husband, daughter, and I were in the mood to shake things up with margaritas somewhere new, and our daughter pointed us toward Copita Tequileria y Comida. As we cruised by looking for parking, it was clear we had picked a lively spot--buzzing energy everywhere: inside, outside, and even upstairs. We were quickly seated indoors, though on such a beautiful day we assumed we'd be offered outdoor seating. No big deal--we asked, and they happily moved us to a shaded table with plenty of space. Much better. Drinks were first on the agenda: margaritas and a michelada, all refreshing and exactly what we were hoping for. Our server, Michelle, was friendly, attentive, and even shared some helpful tips about perks with our American Express Platinum Card--a nice, unexpected touch. We kicked things off with queso fundido, though a brief mix-up brought us chips and guacamole from another table first. Once we pointed it out, it was quickly handled--but honestly, it looked so good we ended up ordering it anyway. No regrets there--it definitely hit the spot. We hadn't planned on a full dinner, so we went with lighter bites. The tuna tostadas and halibut ceviche were a hit--fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. I went with the tortilla soup, which was good and nicely presented... but didn't quite wow me. I've been on a bit of a tortilla soup tour lately, and this one leaned a little heavy on the tortillas (soaking up too much broth) and had more zucchini than I expected. That said, major points for serving it piping hot--something a lot of places miss--and the avocado was a great addition. One thing worth noting: I didn't catch it until later, but there's a 4% living wage surcharge added to the bill--and it's taxed. That caught me off guard, and I'm still not entirely sure how that works in California. Overall, a fun, energetic spot with great drinks, tasty bites, and solid service. Not perfect, but definitely good enough to come back for another round.

I'm still thinking about the carnitas weeks later. We got the size recommended for 2 people and it did cost about $115 (including tax &tip). Our waitress was so polite and attentive. She made sure to ask if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is lively and inviting. I would love to come again and sit inside the restaurant, but the patio was perfect.

It was busy at noon on a Saturday, but fortunately they have a large tented outdoor dining area, in addition to the regular indoor restaurant, to accommodate everyone. I was almost immediately seated and given water and chips and two types of salsa. Both were too spicy for me, but the chips tasted good. I ordered the steak salad, which is what I've had every time I've dined at the Pruneyard location. It was very good, although the steak portion was teeny tiny. That was disappointing. But the greens were fresh and delicious and I loved the fresh avocado and roasted corn on top. Even the salad dressing was perfection. A few random notes: My waiter was running around like crazy trying to help all of the diners at his tables, but still came by and checked on me a couple times. The restaurant is LOUD despite being outside. They allow dogs on leashes outside. The dedicated parking lot is small, but I was able to find a spot. I didn't notice much of a difference between the two locations other than the small size of the steak at the Alameda restaurant. I would go back to either location.

The meat was perfectly cooked, moist and No Chunks of fat at all, and there was plenty of meat as well, mixed with a perfect bit of rice & beans, cheese, a tiny bit of avocado (I always have extra at home for this + sour cream) and the dough is pleasantly thin. I throw this in a counter top oven, and while heating, the dough becomes wonderfully crisp... Ohlala. The restaurant itself is clean, inviting, big windows all around, an impressive bar, and several TV screens that however, makes it on the noisy side. Always a lot of families there, seeming to enjoy all different kinds of wonderful dishes. I got two meals out of this heavenly Burrito, and I will definitely recommend this place.

Staff was quick to take our orders and clean up. Corn tortillas are used for the tacos. The ingredient description for food options is concise and also descriptive to let people know what to expect. They serve soft, regular, and crispy tortillas at this chain. The carne asada was on the drier side when I had it this time. Definitely had juicier meats here in the past. The tortilla was a little crispier than I remember for the regular tacos. Will be back at this location or at the others since it's one of the popular choices in SJ!
