MAJOR FAIL! I called for a custom build, talked with Kowan, explained I wanted to shop local and keep business in the community. Went in to see him to confirm, he said they could clone my existing drive to the one they're building. Offered a cloned drive I made for backup. Said to preserve drive D partition above all else as it had necessary work files. He accepted it. Heard nothing. Then heard they waited for parts. Said I'd be gone for a week+, gave them a date I'd be back. Wasn't ready. Told they were having trouble with drivers and updates. Again explained to preserve drive D partition above all else. I could install software, but D had all my work files. Called again. Still issues. Two weeks+ go by. Finally am told they have the machine ready but Oops! They reformatted the my entire drive. You mean the drive you were going to clone from? The one I called several times and repeatedly said to preserve drive D above all else? Yes, that one. Got to the store and, oh, my gosh, nobody knows nothing. Kowan claims he just took the order, didn't do any work on it, yet every time I called somebody else was working on it, including Bill, their top tech guy, who admitted yeah, they made a mistake. A MISTAKE? Nobody kept notes? You didn't call to confirm what I wanted when you didn't have notes from the last person to work on it? You didn't have the customer's original work order to build from? You just passed the machine around and slapped things in but nobody kept notes on what was suppose to be done? Final tech to touch it knows nothing. Said "I was just given a drive. I didn't know I wasn't suppose to use it." Worse, they said I could bring in my working system and they'd clone it to the new build. WHAT? I'm going to trust the cabbage patch crew with a working machine with necessary files on it? Worst, they didn't make any attempt at making things better other than the above offer (which I couldn't trust them to do at this point). Just refunded my money, and I had to ask for my now worthless disk back. I'm sitting here shaking my head as I write this. I rarely find this level of incompetence in a business. STAY AWAY! FOLLOW UP TO BRIAN G'S RESPONSE: Sorry, no, I never gave verbal approval to wipe and reload. I gave approval to put in a new drive and copy over what could be copied over. If apps could be copied, great, and preserving the data on D was paramount. Nice rebuttal on your part, but also inaccurate on your part: I contacted Showtime several times for updates, Showtime never reached out to me with questions or concerns. At one point I was informed there was a problem with the drivers, but I never gave verbal approval to wipe and reload the drive I brought in. This is another example of a communications failure on the techs' part. Combine that with the techs passing the buck attitude when I went in to find out what happened and this remains a MAJOR FAIL! read more

I did not have a power cord. they said they would not plug it in to see if it worked, but would sell me a power cored for $30.00. I can buy one on amazon for $9.99. I went to Showtime recently to get some upgrades done on my computer. The technicians were very friendly and helpful and were able to perform the upgrade of my system within 3 days. Their prices are a little expensive but they do a good job overall so I'd say it was worth it. I will definitely come back in the near future whenever I have the money to purchase their services again. read more

They don't even deserve one star. Based on the other reviews i am not surprised except for Robyn's review which was either written by the company or was a paid review because there is not one person in Nashua or Hudson that can say this company is anything but a group of con artists. I work for a software company and have had work contracted through geek squad as well as other third parties. Showtimes not only has no idea what they are doing but probably are the worst customer service to boot. Dropped off a $1,500 custom laptop to have the hard drive migrated to a solid state drive I explained that the drive was encrypted. They took a week before I had to call and they said the drive is broken. After driving down there and proving it wasn't they then say "OH we can't work with an encrypted drive!" and tried to charge me for work. Even though there was a post it on the screen reading "DRIVE IS ENCRYPTED" I guess reading is not the technician's (Name Noel) strong point. They then gave me the computer back to un-encrypt when and I got the laptop back it was missing the plastic light covers from the screen. They basically told me I must have done that even though its brand new. So on top of the technician not being able to read he also has no clue on how to re-assemble a laptop. In the end I told them my property was damaged and they said i should put some tape over it......Classy laptop repair. No thanks. Thanks for destroying my property Showtimes. read more

Sadly a very mixed bag. Bottom line: they do good work. The actual work on my computer was very well done. HOWEVER, they are not transparent on their pricing. And if you're not good with computers and immediately understand that the computer "needs to charge for two hours" means you're going to be charged for those two hours at a rate of $60 per hour. When I confronted them about this discrepancy they were rude and dismissive and insulting. Particularly a individual behind the counter who was not part of the transaction who was very confrontational and rude as I was leaving. Very negative experience. I advise going elsewhere and if you do insist on going there, make sure you force them to be explicit in their pricing so you don't end up on paying far more than expected. They need to be more transparent with their pricing. And their customer service is nonexistent. read more

Definitely reliable and trustworthy! Brought an older laptop here thinking it was one thing and after the diagnosis saved me over $200 as it was a simple $15 cable that needed replacement instead of an entire screen or video card. Staff is courteous, place is clean, prices are very fair for repairs and other items which can be purchased in the store! You need to check them out first before blindly trying to find a company from the Web. Since I saved the extra money, I decided to purchase a solid state hard drive from them as well as a thank you and to upgrade my computer to make it faster. My IMac computer died and was considering going to Best Buy to purchase another one, but then I thought I should give Showtime a call. They diagnosed the problem right away but it was not fixable, so I purchased a refurbished IMac and so far no problems! Got it at a great price too! read more

Showtime Computers has always been helpful and friendly for me. Their store is supplied with a ton of equipment. I have also purchased several printers, cameras and computers from them in the past. Anytime I had an issue, they were very helpful and quick to resolve the issue. There is something to be said when you overhear people at BB send people to Showtime to fix their computers. I used to go here all the time building PC's for all my family, asking advise etc... I must have spent a couple $1,000 here, but if given the wrong memory, or their component is defective you can expect to be treated like you just kicked in the door and beheaded their fucking dog! The owner is a pretentious asshole, he looks at you as if you're unaware of how to plug the ac cord in. Furthermore they will blame you for shorting out their products... I bought some ram for an ASUS board I had he told me this is what you need it will work. Well behold it would not the ram he gave me needed to work in parity which if you build pcs you know what that means. I had to bitch and moan to get my $$$$ back, he sells cards, towers, and boards that are usually obsolete or recently outdated. I brought a laptop with a bad motherboard into the store to be discarded. I was told it would be a $10.00 fee for that. When asked why I was discarding the laptop I explained the bad motherboard and they told me that it would about $200.00 to replace the motherboard. Being a $900.00 laptop new, I figured that it would be worth the investment. I later received a phone call from Showtime and I was told it would be over $500.00 for a new motherboard, thus not being worth repair. They then hit me with a $59.99 diagnostic fee for telling me they guess my first inclination was correct. However, it was sport of them to waive the $10.00 disposal fee after they suckered $59.99 out me. Won't go there again. read more

I found them to be unprofessional & lacking knowledge PC technicians should have. I went there to save time I didn't have for what should have been a quick repair - I could have fixed it myself - only to have them waste my time still having to fix it myself but paying them $90 not following the instructions I gave them. After talking with Fred on the phone I told him I was still unhappy and I would be posting my review and he threatened posting a video of my poor customer experience online. I will do my best to explain my experience in detail: I had never done business with showtime computers prior. I was a new customer. I called ahead to get pricing for express service, explaining my business computer was down and I Had to have it back that day. I was quoted what it would be for 1 hour. I explained I only wanted them to work on it for 1 hour. I work on computers myself but didn't have the time to fix it and opted for them to do it. It should have been a quick fix for someone skilled in the profession. I had installed a bad nvidia graphics card driver on 3/7/16 which crashed many people's systems. A simple driver removal utility program on a usb could have resolved the issue quickly as I had already done some testing before running out of time. When I dropped it off I gave specific instructions to the person whom took the computer that the ONLY thing I wanted done was to remove/delete/uninstall or rollback that driver - only if there was time within that hour left over to check a few minor things. I also asked to have the technician call me so I could explain the details. I was running late for my daughters doctor's appt and never received a call from the technician so I figured they didnt get a chance to fix it. I go inside and the technician has my computer apart, wires hanging everywhere saying he didnt know what was wrong with it. The person whom took the pc never gave him the information when I dropped it off. He said he was working on it for 3 hours and it didnt matter he didnt know, he does this all the time and the system would need a full reinstall. I called him out on that, telling him - no it didnt and I could fix it myself. He said "good luck, I should have set this thing on fire" prior to giving it back to me. I became more and more upset and lost my cool. I had brought it there to save time as I run my own business and single dad to 4 kids.... It was absolutely deplorable what kind of customer service I was receiving. I was livid. As he put my computer back together setting it on the shelf I take my pc and get half way to the door and another guy says "you have to pay for that" I said "pay for what? - you didnt do what I asked" I'm not paying for something you didnt do and I left. They called the police and tried to claim "theft of service" Instead of them wasting more of my time and money of fighting this in court I opted to just pay the $90 and submit a review online only to be threatened by the owner he would illegally post the video of me losing my cool while in his store. Being disgusted by them does not begin to describe how I feel about their business. When returning home I repaired my computer within 30-40 minutes by just removing the gfx card and putting in a differ one so it would not load the bad driver that was installed and I also had to default and reflash the bios because the technician screwed that up too. read more

I went in on November 21 to get a replacement keyboard for my laptop. All they had on hand for my computer model was one in German, not English. They said it could be UP TO 10 days because of the Thanksgiving holiday (which was the next day) and they'd call me when it was in. I called about 2 weeks later, on December 4 to see where it was, and they said it was ordered on November 28 (the guy who got on the phone was surprised when I said I was there two weeks prior, he said 'no it was November 28') and would be coming from China. That would take up to 3 weeks and was untrackable. After a long discussion about their poor customer service, I told them once I get the keyboard I'll never be back as a customer. He said "alrighty then" and hung up. Again, I called today (December 12) to see if maybe they'd gotten it in and not called. Wouldn't surprise me, but of course they didn't have it. Every time I tried to talk, he would interrupt me - I'm pretty sure it was the same person I'd spoken to the week before. I finally yelled at him to stop interrupting me, and he asked "did you just yell at me? I don't need that." Of course I'm a little bit pissed off because my computer keyboard wasn't working all that well 3 weeks ago and hasn't gotten any better by itself (the e and f keys have to really get mashed down to work, I usually copy the e from somewhere and use ctrl+v to type an e, others are iffy). They certainly don't seem to have any intentions of providing anything but bad customer service. I'll install the keyboard myself before paying them the $35 to do it - they popped mine out in the shop when I first went in and kept saying how quick and simple it was to replace. I do know a thing or two about computers, so I should be able to figure it out pretty easily (and the internet is a wonderful place). STAY AWAY! You might have luck if you're just going to pick up a simple part, in and out real quick - I also purchased a little USB thing to plug headphones into since my jack doesn't work too well and that was easy - but anything that requires repair or customer service, find somewhere else to go. read more

My family has given this place many chances, but we shouldn't have. Most of the reviews which are here and aren't written by employees or family members say it all. They are rude, they don't care about their customers, service is poor, work is slow and shoddy. They believe that refurbished means used, but still charge refurbished computers and when you return it because the battery can't hold a charge after two days they inform you that you should have expected it since it is a used computer. I am only glad they aren't selling cars with that philosophy. read more

I've been doing business with Showtime Computer for over 10 years. My last two towers were purchased at Showtime. When I have problems with viruses, I go to Showtime. The technicians I have spoken to were courteous and knowledgeable. This past winter, 2016, a friend who is a business owner had her business computer attacked by ransom ware. I suggested they call Showtime. Once the crisis had passed I asked about the service they were more than satisfied. The ransom ware was removed, the computer updated, and protection put into place to defeat further attacks. She was more than satisfied. Recently I brought my pc here 1) for a windows clean up as it was corrupt and 2)to assist with inability to download photos from my Apple iPhone. I had spent hours with apple tech support who advised me that until windows was cleaned up the photo issue couldn't be resolved. Upon going to showtime, I was assured that this was something they could help me with. I was also told that it would take up to a week for repair and that I'd receive a call when done. Never got a call after 9 days. Called 2x before getting call back. When finally "done" I went there only to find that they forgot to fix the most important request with Apple photos. They did update/cleanup windows but no efforts with Apple. I stayed there for an hour while the man looked at it but it was clear that he had no idea how to fix it. Told me it was an Apple issue, couldn't be fixed. I was angry about having to pay when the very reasoning of bringing it in was not rectified! I was assured this could be fixed and not only did they forget to target this issue but I felt like there was no efforts or commitment to even trying to help me out. What about asking a manager or someone else for help, or apologizing for not being able to troubleshoot the issue as they had promised? I just felt like there was no professionalism here, a passivity and lack of good customer service all around. I also felt I shouldn't have been charged for just 1 of the 2 reasons of repair/service being completed. After getting home I was able to call Apple and they fixed the issue with proper advice very quickly. Had I known showtime couldnt handle this issue (as it was assured) then I wouldn't have wasted my time bringing it there. Very disappointed and will not be returning. I went to this place about replacing RAM for my Desktop computer. The little bald headed guy started getting all uppity about the RAM I already had and was yelling at me. I yelled back at him and he didn't expect that and coward like a little child. Don't mess with your customers you idiots, especially when they have CASH to spend in your little hole of a computer shop. I really wonder how this place stays in business for 1) Treating their customers as idiots. 2) There prices are way higher than anyplace else. 3) They grudgingly hate giving money back for hardware that doesn't work. Go to www.newegg.com or Amazon for your computer hardware. They have a great return policy if your hardware doesn't work. For the love of your superior being don't step foot in here. I was looking to buy a new PC and went here. Needless to say it turned out that I knew more about computers then the tech guy did. I should not be the one saying "But if I get what you're telling me what to get then Ill need to upgrade my power supply.". They should know that if your upgrading a stock PC then you should invest in a capable power supply. His response was "O yah you'll need that". If I didn't have that knowledge then I'd be screwed. Bought parts and components over the years not the cheapest but always tried to support local business. I brought in a PC that had a virus. They charged me close to $200 for expedited service. After two days they said they couldn't clean the hard drive that I would have to format and reload the O/S. The next day I brought in a 256 meg ( yes meg) thumb drive and asked them to scan it. I was in the market for a new gaming PC and I often drive by this place on my commute to work so after calling Dell and Intel and several other places I figured I would call a local place and see what they have to say. Immediately the employee that I spoke with (Noel) was rude, impatient, snappy and overall much less than pleasant to deal with. Nonetheless, he told me to email him with the specifications I wanted and what I wanted to use it for and he would give me a price. I figured I could at least get a quote from them and go from there. I emailed him that very day. A week passed and I heard nothing back. I emailed him a second time just in case he forgot about it or maybe the first one didn't go through at all but once again after a week I got nothing back. I then called and spoke to another employee, Fred, who was also rude, and he also gave me his email address, which was different from the initial one I was given. I emailed him the same way I did with Noel and once again, after over a week, got no reply whatsoever. So finally I decided to simply go there and talk to them in person as clearly the email thing wasn't working. We were less than three sentences into the conversation when once again the employee that I spoke with became very rude and unprofessional. The employee even said to me when I politely brought up my inability to get a hold of them via email "Maybe if you got off your ass and bothered to come down here you would have gotten a response". When I politely responded by telling him that kind of talk is uncalled for and I'm here now to talk things out and figure something out he proceeded to go on a lengthy profanity-filled rant with things like "Some people think the whole F ing world just revolves around them" and "Do you have any F ing clue how busy I am?". Obviously, at this point, I left. Not only are they completely rude and unprofessional but based on several people I've talked to after the fact who work with me in Hudson their products are garbage too. Apparently they often take weeks longer than represented to make with zero communication on their end, they charge you for every little thing imaginable even if it's something they put minimal time and effort into and their finished products are not only low quality but also often quite different from what they're supposed to be, in some cases to extreme extents such as having an entirely different operating system.
