My daughter's laptop was having a hard time booting up. It was old, so we bought her a new one, but she had a lot of files on the old one that she needed, so we brought it to Lappy Fix to see if it was still possible to get these files. He determined that the hard drive was corrupt but he was able to access enough of it to get all the files she wanted onto the new laptop. Everything she needed is now on the new laptop. Not only did he get rid of the virus he suggested a smaller drive as my laptop came with 1T drive and it was very slow and i hadn't used a 1/4 of the drive. I agreed. He put a smaller drive in, copied my old hard drive to the new one and now my laptop is so much faster and the price! The price was unbelievable. Lappy Fix has never actually fixed anything for me. I've had them look at two laptops. The first time the owner determined that the motherboard was dead, and I declined to replace it. No charge. The second time, he figured out that I needed to buy a new AC converter. Again no charge. Both times he waved off my offers to pay him for his time. In telling this story I'm not suggesting to bargain hunters that they should expect free or cheap service. I assume that Lappy Fix charges a fair rate for his work, as everyone is entitled to do. What I take from my experience (besides his competence) is that he's not interested in nickel-and-diming his customers - he has a no-nonsense way of doing business that I like. read more

Brought in my lap top at 1pm due to the fact my MacBook Air crashes downloading high sierra. He was able to figure out the problem (a corrupt web root virus protection app), download high sierra, restore my hard drive and return the laptop to me by 5pm. Tom Cao of Lappy Fix did a fantastic job replacing a faulty WiFi card in my HP All in One 27-r0xx. He did it in only a 1/2 hour and it cost $60 for labor. He quoted the price in advance and kept to his quote. Other shops were charging $100 and they wanted me to leave my machine for over a day - and they could not guarantee that the new card would work. Great people and honest too - just picked up my laptop after a water spill that shorted out two capacitors - cost of repair - $89 (plus change). First time the cpu fan died (may it rest in peace) that repair was $99.00. OK spent $200 on repairs but still cheaper than replacing it and moving all the data to a new laptop read more

I called Lappy Fix and they said if I brought it in, he could fix it. I brought it in today with the replacement screen I had ordered. He asked if I could wait for the ten minutes it would take for the repair. I could not believe that! I expected to have to leave it for a few days until he could get to it. I could not wait because it is a very hot day and I had groceries in the car. He said he would call as soon as it was done. 15 minutes and it was ready.
