Each time was enjoyable and thought provoking! So...when my friend, Amy M., suggested that we see this movie AGAIN, I said "yes" right away! I had been to this venue several times before this. I knew the drill... go early and park for free across the street at South Shore Market in Ward Village, then stand in line outside the gate to the IBM Courtyard. The gate is supposed to open at 6pm. That's why we aimed to be there at 5pm because the seating is first come, first served, except for the HIFF (Hawaii International Film Festival) members. They get a special line and enter first. The walk-in people get in last. There are monitors who decide when to start the next row of people when the line gets too long. The monitors also check tickets and distribute wristbands. This Valentine's Day evening was rainy, so a tent was in place. There was also a table filled with bags of complimentary popcorn for each guest! The comfy sofas in the front were reserved for people who won VIP Seats via an Instagram contest! We were early enough to sit on the slightly padded wooden folding chairs in the first row on the right side. The middle section's front row had reserved seating for the HIFF Members. The movie started around 7pm when it was dark enough. Overall, this is a unique venue because of the cool Hawaiian trade winds. In the summer, when it's not raining, there's no tent - which allows a beautiful view of the sunset colors in the sky! The fancy restroom is convenient. Food trucks and restaurants are nearby so you can bring your food in and enjoy a totally wonderful experience!

Some people even brought umbrellas (worth it during the rainy months). Bring your own snacks and beverages! Check-in starts at 6pm. The actual showing begins at 7pm. When you get your bracelet upon checking in, get yourself a seat then you can go in and out (grab a poke bowl from Paina!) Seats start filling EARLY, at least for Free Solo (maybe it was particularly popular?). If you have a big group, get there around 6pm.

Ample parking in Ward theater parking lot. There is no specific time reserved so you need to go there early and check in. Once checked in you will get a text message when its your groups turn to go. We waited about 30 min to check in then another 1.5 hours from check in to getting inside. The time spent inside the haunted house was about 20 min. Overall the actors and the set up was good but the wait was pretty long it would have been better and more efficient with set times to reserve.

The entrance is slightly hidden so it can be hard to spot, the inside is super cozy with only about 16-18 comfy recliners, and you can bring your own blanket to get settled in. It feels very local and intimate. The owner said she's been in business since the 90s. A few things to know: you have to call ahead to make a reservation, tickets are $8 cash only, parking is in a paid lot, and masks are required (or you can buy one there for 50 cents). I think they used to allow outside food, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. It also looks like they've shifted focus--while they used to rent VHS and DVDs, now the movie screenings are the main draw. If you're looking for a cozy, community-style movie night, this place is absolutely worth your time!

You must recline your seat or the person behind you can't see. The experience of buying a ticket is a bit of a hassle. But... It is just $5 for the movie, the a/c is freezing and you can BYO anything. Including the BO. Seems like a lot of regulars go there. Adorable quirky older folks. My type of peeps. I want to go back and get drunk next time. And bring durian or something smelly to eat.

Improv isn't an easy skill for the novice. You have to be quick on your feet to take whatever scenario is thrown at the actors, act it out on the spot, and interact with the other actors to expand on the situation. The audience ate it up and laughed so much (especially the local/non local clips). It was the fourth of four nights for this hardworking crew and they were exhausted at the end of the show. If this troupe of young people can successfully fill a community theatre for four nights, it gives me hope for this generation. Mahalo, kids!!

Again, latecomers are locked out...trust me :( . This theatre is small and clean with laua'e painted on acoustic wooden panels. Plus, AC (yay) (: Its steep incline of seating allows everyone a clear view of the stage. If you're in heels, beware and be careful! I'd love to see more shows here.

There's plenty of free covered parking. Prior to theatre opening there are benches under a covered pavilion to wait. Purchasing the tickets by zones is interesting as seats are free for all in your zone. However, people are polite and you are able to pick your seat with no issue. We attended the candlelight concert for cold play and imagine dragons. The string quartet played beautifully and it was more laid back with the musicians engaging the audience. They played many memorable melodies and we were glad we purchased the second most expensive zone. The theater made the experience more relaxed and homey. It was good. The theatre is older so I felt the theater is more suited for a play than a musical concert. Acoustics could have been better. We will probably attend another event at the theatre if the opportunity arises.

It's a modern day rap musical about the 1700's. Gosh... History is my worst subject. However, this story was so intriguing that it makes me want to read up about Alexander Hamilton! Really! I actually saw "Hamilton" in Honolulu twice. Both shows had a brief intermission. If you need to go to the restroom, go RIGHT AWAY because the line is LONG. They promised to get us back to our seats in time... I barely made it back... In the dark... While trying to avoid stepping on people's toes... The first time, I sat in the balcony... It was an 8pm show and it ended at 11pm. Hmmm... The second time, I got seats in the seventh row - it was a MUCH better experience! The show started at 2pm and ended at 5pm. The singing, dancing, costumes, and rotating part of the stage were awesome! The plot was complex - our American history is like a soap opera... Unbelievable! Go see "Hamilton" if you can. Tomorrow (1-29-23) is the last day in Honolulu... Shout out to Gail U. in the second row of the Saturday matinee! Happy to meet you in person! You're even better in real life! Note: there was a line on the Ward Avenue side of the Concert Hall where the audience was scanned with a wand-type metal detector. Water bottles had to be left outside. Backpacks and large purses were searched... I brought a small, clear fanny pack and they asked me, "Where is your purse?"

They hired very svelte pretty girls in light colored leggings. The voices of the main cast were note worthy with their range. I liked when they sang soft and sweet vs the booming voices for major effect. The costume changes were primarily different colored coats and vests. The backdrop of brown lumber, stairs and revolving floor in middle of the stage remained unchanged throughout. I like the street lamps and descending and ascending light fixtures. I really wanted at least one scene change but only tables or chairs added or removed was it. Two of the three sisters had voices like silk. They were bigger than the dancers but with booming voices when needed. The last performance is tomorrow so I don't want to give the highlights away. I had to keep an open mind cuz George Washington's character had no resemblance to the picture of him in my mind on horseback or on the dollar bill. How the founding fathers were portrayed was a bit of a shock. Strong cast who seemed like they enjoyed working together. Congrats! Meeting the famous Auntie Nadine before the production began was awesome.
