Love that places like this still exist. The service was great. There was so much food and drink to choose from. We got hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, and fried mushrooms. All very good while we ate inside our car. We will definitely be back!

Old school carhop since 1955 with good tasty things to eat and many desserts on other side of menu. I had the bbq sloppy teddy with onion rings & root beer and it was good

Retro-style drive-in with car hops. Definitely try: 10 piece chicken wings (surprisingly amazing; make sure you ask for a cup of ranch with it) Coney dog Sloppy Teddy sandwich (basically a huge sloppy joe) Homemade root beer Onion rings

The hot dog was fresh, the French fries were good, the historic root beer stand was neat. The service was poor and the car hop didn't bring our change back until I asked about it...

Half of my potato log order because I forgot to take a pic before diving in

We discovered this place while looking up restaurants on Google. My mom and I try to keep an eye out for different places that aren't the usual like Wendy's or Taco Bell so we were very excited when we found Short's Root Beer Stand. When we got here a very nice kid came up and gave us menus, and was very nice and explained what potato logs were (think like potato wedges, but they're a lot bigger, better, well seasoned, and tastier). Honestly when I first saw them I didnt think I would like them because I'm a pretty picky eater, but they're absolutely delicious! A really nice lady brought out our food. We got a chili dog, the sloppy teddy, potato logs, and supreme potato logs. The staff are all really nice and friendly and the food is amazing. I really liked the sloppy teddy, it's a scrumptious take on a sloppy joe. Mom enjoyed her potatoes and chili dog. We'll definitely be back with more money next time so we can try even more stuff, there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try that we'll definitely have to come back a lot! Thanks for the wonderful experience :D

Best small town spot with the best food ever!

Good onion rings, coleslaw, and service. The hotdogs could be better quality. An all beef or Hebrew National would be better.

The owner was very welcoming. They had real plants spanning the ceiling & they even have a feel inside that is stylish in a sense that has a cultured feel to it. Large booths for bigger families & a section that had a more cafè vibe to it. Needless to say, we did not waste our opportunity with this place, and they serve breakfast all day so i can enjoy their delicious selection even if it's later in the day! We'll be back without question.

This time I'm just over it, I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt but let's be honest this place is surviving because it's the only family restaurant around. The inside is outdated , and the color scheme alone is enough to make you nauseous. All the waitresses act like they don't want to be at work and getting their attention for anything is impossible. This time I ordered simple, veggie omelette comes with American fries and either toast or pancakes. I got pancakes, they were pretty tasty some sort of vanilla in the batter but they were dry. The omelette, was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. Not only was it dark in color, the eggs tasted like fridge and all the veggies inside it were old. I'm Just over it, bus lady was sweet though.

The restaurant is located inside an actual historic railroad depot dating back to 1883, and the building alone is worth seeing. The dark wood, massive beams, staircases, vintage clocks and railroad memorabilia give the place a wonderful atmosphere. There are even stained-glass windows that were rescued from a church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I started with the Overseas Railroad, a fruity blue cocktail that was refreshing and dangerously easy to drink. Probably a good thing I wasn't the engineer. My wife ordered the ribeye, which came out sizzling and cooked to a perfect medium-rare, with loaded mashed potatoes and green beans. I had the Maple Glazed Salmon with long-grain wild rice and green beans. The salmon was tender and moist, and the sweet maple glaze complemented it nicely. The green beans deserve a special mention because they had just the right amount of crunch and snap. We finished by sharing a warm salted caramel cookie with white chocolate chips and pretzel pieces, topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel. It was the perfect ending to an excellent meal. Great food in a beautiful old building filled with history. The trains may no longer stop here, but Trainwreck Grill & Ale House gives you a pretty darn good reason to.
