Short Pump Threading is a godsend! Both ladies do an absolutely fantastic job on eyebrows. Mine were very uneven but that is all taken care of now! What I really want to talk about is face threading. I've been dealing with facial hair on my lip & chin for years but not any more. I'm blonde with fair, ultra-sensitve skin. The hair on my lip was dark. Waxing irritated my skin so bad and I'd break out with little bumps. Bleaching worked for a time, but eventually it will discolor your skin. Threading is amazing! My face is hair-free now and I am SO happy! Lip threading is a little painful but nothing you can't handle. It hurts less with every visit and each time, the hair comes back in lighter, finer, and slower. The redness is just about gone by the time I get home. This review is about my first experience at Sola Spa in shortpump. My normal spa, Ilovedbombshell, where I get waxed was unavailable to change my appointment without waiting 8 weeks so I looked online for another spa who could accomodate my needs. I spoke to Miriam @ Sola and after discussing what my previous spa services were, she was most helpful in setting up my appointment the next day. Miriam is professional, courteous, and she understands how to wax a male client. She used a combo of hard wax and soft, which was virtually pain free. Being new to the area I wasn't all that thrilled about searching for a new salon but I'm glad I choose this one!!! Not only is Miriam very professional but she listened to my concerns. Having had one too many bad experiences with beginner threaders it was nice to find one very experienced and good !! I drive over 25 miles just for her and it's worth it!!! About a month ago I had my eyebrows threaded for the first time while visiting a friend in NYC (previously always waxed). Hence, upon returning to Richmond, I began my search for a well recommended salon. I found one, practically in my own backyard. I had my first appt. with Miriam last night. I've been getting my eyebrows threading for years now and it's always been painful but I did it anyway because I prefer the way it makes my eyebrows looked. A friend of mine recommended Miriam and told me she was the best and I skeptical but I went to her the first day and she asked me if the arch on my right brow was always gone and I just told her I mean yeah. She's very professional and easy to get in contact with. I naturally have a lot of facial hair, and my hair is very dark, but she makes me have a very polished look, and she's quick! I don't understand the other reviews because I called during off hours, and they even answered! I've been looking for a new place for threading, and I think I found it! I am very picky about my eyebrows, and Miriam was great. It wasn't uncomfortable at all, and it is so much better than tearing at your skin which is what waxing does. I will be back again.
