Bessie catching some shade on a hot desert day.

Definitely located in the middle of nowhere in the beautiful Nevada desert. Popped in yesterday after discovering that nearby Sugar's Shack went out of business. Sigh!! :-((( Looks like a fun place to hang out during cooler months, especially with the awesome outdoor seating area. Decent burger with no fries available. Friendly service provided by Kathy the owner. The beer selection wasn't for me, so I don't have much reason to come back again, unless of course, they decided to carry some Guinness or Blue Moon or I bring my own.

Overall the staff was very friendly and I would say this is a good place to stop on your way to Pahrump or south Las Vegas.

Great place for comfort food. Good food. Good prices. I have been going here since the big remodel…read moreafter Terribles took over. Can't go wrong for breakfast lunch or dinner. On this visit I had the baked potato with bbq pork, sour cream, chives, and butter. A meal in itself for about $11. Another favorite of mine is the Smash Burger. The meat was noticeably overcooked--dry, tough, and lacking any real moisture or tenderness. Instead of a juicy interior, it had that gray, stringy texture that usually means it sat too long or was cooked well past its prime. To make matters worse, it was heavily covered in sauce, which felt more like an attempt to hide the dryness than enhance the flavor. Good BBQ shouldn't need to be drowned in sauce to be edible. The exterior had some char, but there was no balance--no rich, rendered fat, no melt-in-your-mouth texture, just dryness throughout. For something that should be a highlight item, this missed the mark completely. I was expecting flavorful, tender BBQ. What I got instead was overworked, dried-out meat that felt like it had been sitting under a heat lamp far too long. Definitely not worth the price, and not something I'd order again.

Walking inside the gas station it's sectioned off to the left. They do seem to have a fly issue on the gas station as some had said. Hopefully that Is something they will rectify. However, its hard to find good Indian food these days. Especially in such a remote area such as this, and I found the food here was actually really delightful. Sometimes you have to go to a hole in the wall, that lacks the sparkle and refinement visually to get the flavor you have been searching for. The cashier was polite as he took our order. We got the butter chicken, mango lassi, and a potato stuffed paratha bread. It was perfect to share between two people. The meat was tender and flavorful, and I loved that there were nuts in the sauce and the spices were more complex. I find a lot of Indian places dont add those touches in the states. Rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was so delicious! Warm and layered with that soft potatoes filling. It was great to dip into the butter chicken sauce. They also had a side of yogurt and a chutney. The chutney was not my favorite thing in the world, it tasted perfumey. We got the food mild incase our child wanted any, but they do offer spice levels. The mango lassi was divine! Bursting with flavor and not to thick. If flies were not attacking me this would have been 5 stars. I didn't experience not feeling welcome in any way because I am not the same ethnicity as the workers like some had mentioned. I just thought that was important to mention. If you want yummy food and a place to stretch your legs its a great alternative to the less than stellar cuisune you often find on this route to tahoe in the smaller towns.

This place is like that: In addition to the usual roadside gas station, convenience store, there is an Indian restaurant inside that is absolutely terrific! The place is clean, the staff is more than friendly. The menu isn't big, but it has all the typical indian dishes. I had the chicken curry, hot. (The waiter told me it was "Indian hot," not "American hot" but I've had hotter. Pro-Tip #1: When you order, get the 'hot'.) The portions were delicious and huge; despite overeating because it was so tasty, I still took away leftovers. They offer both dine-in and take-away service. But... Pro-Tip #2: If you would like a drink to accompany your meal, get it from the C-Store cooler (and pay for it at the counter) before you get your meal, as drinks aren't on the menu. It's literally in the middle of nowhere: Half-way between Las Vegas and Tonopah avoids the hustle and bustle and bright city lights. But if you're on 95, plan on stopping here for a delicious meal! PS: They also have an "American" menu, so burgers, grilled cheese, etc... are also available. But srsly, get the Indian food! PPS: While you're here you can stock up on the Area-51 Alien accoutrements at reasonable prices, too!

He loved it but make sure you have a beverage in hand before you start. This one can sneak up on you. I ordered the Hubb burger. It comes with lettuce tomato onion and pickle. I am not a fan of sweet pickles on my burger. The lettuce was fresh, cold and crisp. The red onions were shaved thin and tomato was fresh. The burger was good size and cooked through. All of the condiments, including salt and pepper are served table side. The fries are crispy shoestring and taste great. Just so you know the fries are not pre salted or seasoned and neither is the burger so you can season to your liking. The burgers are served with a pickle spear. It was a really good pickle. I know this because my husband ate his entire pickle and didn't leave it for me. Fun place if you are on your way to Death Valley, a local or just passing through and want a change of scenery. Service is friendly. We will be back. Enjoy!
