I used to be a regular at Mom's Diner, but over time the quality has declined while prices have gone up. Recently, they added a new busser to their roster, Olivia, who consistently did an excellent job. After months of seeing her there, I was disappointed to learn she was let go. After watching this establishment cycle through bussers one after another, this decision makes no sense and feels like a serious mistake. We are in town visiting my mom for Mother's Day weekend. Food was excellent! My mom and I got the skillet and my husband got the chicken fried steak. We stopped here on our way back to Vegas from Death Valley to me the good reviews and fewer options at Death Valley. We checked in upon entering and had to wait 15 minutes before being seated, but they were accurate about that. Some people didn't know to check in, so I would suggest that they have a sign to check in at the front so that people don't waste their time. We were very impressed with the food. We had the two eggs plate with a biscuit and hash browns and my partner had the chicken fried steak with a biscuit and hash brown. The hash browns were very crispy while the biscuits were very fresh, flaky and buttery. We also got a side of fresh salsa for the chicken steak and it had a nice kick to it. Everything was made to perfection and the staff were also very friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonably for just over $30 for two breakfasts (including tip). Prices are very affordable. This is the kind of place where the staff call their regular patrons by their names. There's also some cute decor all throughout the restaurant and it is a great representation of the quintessential American diner. read more

My favorite order are two eggs over easy with hash brown potatoes, extra crispy bacon, and rye toast. While you wait for your order you can check-out all of the nostalgic items that make this place eclectic and fun! They used to sell coffee mugs that locals could bring back for free coffee. The food was mediocre at the best. Maybe next time we'll have to try out the hamburgers... We tried breakfast (Kitchen sink omelette, Deuces plate). The omelette was very runny with the egg and "wet like" veggies. It didn't taste very well, bland. Pancakes were massive, but just not tasty like I'd expect. I feel like they need to work on their flavor. Our waitress was also less than with her attitude and service; just seemed like another day and another dollar. Could have been much more "friendly", smiling.... I'll come back once more...maybe... and try the burgers?! That is... they were voted "Best Burger 2024" in Pahrump...? read more

This was my first time to Pahrump, NV and I had to stop by this place. Just by their interior decor felt like the 20's-30's vintage vibe. They have really cool vintage signs throughout their dining room and even in the bathroom!! I met the owner Brett, and just him spending the time to share his story in the midst of a crowded restaurant, made me feel like he really cares about his customers and for his community. 90 percent of the locals are either former military, law enforcement, or EMS. And what better way to serve the community then serving those who have or currently serve. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone works hard to ensure each customer is greeted, served and taken care of. I ordered "The Skillet" with bacon and it was delicious! The bacon was crispy and the eggs were cooked over easy. As I cut into them the yoke was mixed in with the onions, peppers, and cheese bringing the entire dish together. I will have to make another trip out to Pahrump just to eat at Mom's diner. When I would come here for the winter, this is one shot I'd always east at multiple times, it's part of thr Pahrump experience! Great food, good atmosphere, excellent service, all in a local institution. Even today, on a Monday, every table is full. It's great seeing that the only thing that's changed is the prices. Today ordered the chicken fried steak, it was a delicious as remember. The gravy was a bit less tasty than I remember though enjoyed large sausage pieces. As avid travelers, we are always looking for those off-the beaten-path eateries, Mom's Diner is one of those places. as you walk in, you are greeted by a cow-bench which just invites you to take a seat and enjoy the many things they have on display to look at on the walls. As you enter the main area, you are verbally greeted by the friendly staff with a smile. The interior offers both booths and tables for your dine-in experience. The portions are very satisfying(pancakes are Huge!!) and the prices are very moderate (more on the lower side compared to other places I have visited which serve the same type of food. I saw alot of great reviews for the burgers but we ended up going for the bfast. The interior is small with some booths but mostly tables. It is filled with classic Americana pieces on the walls and shelves. It was rather noisy as there were so many people there. We were seated in a booth and were soon approached about drinks. We then took a short time to peruse the menu. I ordered the chicken cordon blue sandwich on brioche bun. Mom's Diner was recommended to us while staying in Pahrump for the weekend! When we arrived on Sunday (late) morning, there was a 10-15 minute wait to be seated. We browsed the thrift store next door in the meantime, so the wait went by quickly. The interior was cozy and casual with eclectic decor - lots of antiques, funny signage, and they even had their own merch. Many of the patrons appeared to be regulars, and it had the vibe of a classic small town diner. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with a Biscuit, and we also got a short stack order of Pancakes for the table. Service was friendly but very leisurely. They were good about coming around with coffee refills, but the food took a while to come out. The Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs was tasty and super filling, just as expected. Food has been served to me cold every time I've been. The last visit I ordered their meatloaf special. It was as if they'd pulled it straight out of the refrigerator and brought it out to the table. My family was going to enjoy a meal. We waited outside for our seat. I am assuming the man who addressed us was the owner or perhaps the manager. He addressed me so nasty. He was rude and yelled at me. -YELLED at me. I was about to medicate when he stormed out to yell. My dog is indeed service and I can provide all the legal documentation to prove it. My health is more important than his ugly anger. If it wasn't for dog I don't know what I would do. That man was fierce. We stayed and waited for a table because of my elderly in-laws. We visited Pahrump back in January during a birthday trip to Death Valley and Mom's Diner kept popping up on places to eat near our Airbnb. It has a very eclectic/homey decor/vibe, which I loved. It makes you feel as though you are in a warm kitchen eating your mom's food. The food came out really quick, I was never without fresh coffee, and our server was so sweet. We only stopped in for breakfast, but they had a lot of yummy sounding dinner specials as well! I will definitely come back the next time we visit Death Valley. read more

We arrived at noon on a Sunday. The wait time for a table/booth was 25 minutes. We were seated in a table. The restaurant has about 10 red leather booths and about the same number of tables. The walls are filled with a variety of memorabilia that will keep you busy while waiting for your food. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the BLT which comes with potato salad and the Buffalo Chicken salad. I chose ranch dressing. The BLT was large, lots of bacon and there was a nice scoop of potato salad. Came from Vegas for the DMV & this was right down the street so we stopped in. I was highly impressed with the service. Our waiter was so sweet & friendly, even making sure to stop and interact with my kids frequently. The rest of the staff was just as nice, which is not something I'm used to in Vegas. Came in on a Saturday at about 4:30PM wasn't too busy. Was greeted when we walked in and informed to seat ourselves wherever we'd like. Ordered a burger for myself & my wife had the patty melt. Both were nice and accompanied with the perfect amount of fries. Can't remember the servers name but she seemed nice. Was accommodating and brought over extra napkins without asking. Food came out in a timely fashion and she offered me a refill upon noticing my glass was empty however I declined as I shouldn't be drinking soda anyways! They didn't complain about our autistic son having to have his own fries from McDonalds brought in as that's one of the very few things he will eat. We were willing to wait, except that we were told we couldn't eat outside. No problem. We just decided to eat elsewhere. The person in the restaurant taking names literally took the time to run outside after us, as she saw us walking away, to ask if we were still going to wait. We said we weren't and she said, "well, that would've been nice to know". Wow...all that extra effort to come out and say something shitty. This place was recommended by the desk clerk at our hotel. Went for an early dinner since we hadn't eaten all day. I had the "hand breaded" tenderloin sandwich. I have eaten a lot of tenderloin in my day. This was undoubtedly the worst I've ever had. Thin, very tough and very greasy. The fries were pretty good as was the "special sauce". But i popped Tums the rest of the night. Hubby had the catfish special - he ate about 1/2 of it bc we were hungry. They post that everything is made in house. Don't know about that. read more
