The TV was playing French jazz musician performances and there were funny signs in the pastry case. "Don't tap on the glass, it scares the eclairs!" I got the Tuna pan bagnat and the hubby the Cold Brie sandwich. I also got a hot small latte. All items were very good. The food took a bit to come out, but as their signs say, everything is made to order. They do have a cold case with some to-go items, however, if you're in a hurry. Tagged along for a friend's Pahrump day trip and I was looking forward to going back to O Happy Bread even if it was sabotaging my diet. I was so excited for my sugar/carb cheat day because this bakery was sooo good last year. Um... Name hasn't changed but it is literally not the same place as last year. I heard that the owners sold and moved back to Canada and it's now a French bakery that also has Viet food. It sounds like an amazing combo, but unfortunately it was 2 cuisines done OK enough. On its own, this place was fine. Pho was overly salty but good brisket, standard grilled pork bahn mi w legit bread, great eggrolls but missing all of the veg that usually comes with it. The chicken sandwich was nothing like before other than the bun - last time it was a huge perfectly seasoned thigh, 2026 version is just 2 bland white meat tenders thrown on a bun. The royal chocolat was fine but visually and taste, it has alot less chocolate in the recipe than it used to. If I just walked in for the first time I would've said this place is pretty good for Pahrump. But having already experienced the exceptional food from the previous owners, this made me really sad. I think it's the only viet or French bakery option in Pahrump so I'd return if I lived there, but I don't and I'm sad to have lost my main motivation for ever going to Pahrump. But also thanks for saving me from doing a full on cheat day, I was alot less tempted to buy these pastries. read more

Not sure what happened to this place, perhaps it's under new management? Last year, we had an amazing experience in both customer service and food. On this stop, we waited a few minutes to even be acknowledged. The staff was not very friendly, and the selection of pastries was different. The pastries were good but not great. Maybe they lost their master baker? We ordered the cinnamon roll and a new pastry called CUCCIDATI. We each took a bite of the cinnamon roll and it was dry so we did not eat it. My husband got a roasted beef sandwich which and I got a turkey. It was so big I couldn't finish the whole thing. Of course served on a baguette that was crispy on the outside and plump on the inside. Perfect bread! Their dessert section looked amazing as well. We happened to be in for the evening! We asked a local to recommend us a good local restaurant for dinner. She suggested "the bakery, they also sell Pho!!" We are so happy with this hidden gem!!! What a gem of a place! We were looking for a breakfast place while going from Vegas to Death valley and found this on google. Frankly speaking the complex this place is in looked under construction and isolated and we considered turning back but then I thought of having a small peak inside and I am glad I did so :) It's a cute place with authentic french breads, sandwiches and pastries. I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette for breakfast and parceled chicken "pan- bagnat" sandwich and "death by chocolate" cake slice for later. While everything was great, I especially loved the crispy buttery toast with my omelette and the pan bagnat which was still crisp when I ate it for lunch a couple hours later. Service was polite and friendly. We were told that the order may take about 40 mins as they were short staffed on the day and everything is cooked from scratch . We got our order after about an hour though. It is a cool place to sit and enjoy with time to spare but please account for extra time or order something ready to go if on a schedule for death valley trip. read more

I recently learned that O Happy Bread has new owners and is now serving Vietnamese bánh mì sandwiches. I was excited when I read about it in a local newspaper while having breakfast at Shelly's Bagels, and I even told a few friends because I was looking forward to trying it. Yesterday, I had some extra time and decided to stop by on my own. The bánh mì sandwich was good, although I have had better elsewhere. Unfortunately, the customer service left me disappointed. O Happy indeed. My wife has talked about this little Pahrump treasure for some time. She has visited before and we finally made the trek out from the Vegas valley. It was worth the visit. They have recently changed ownership, and I have yet to revisit some of my favorite dishes. I will say I really do miss the quiches as they have been removed from the menu entirely. Outside of that, the desserts remain consistent. The Vietnamese additions are very interesting and look forward to exploring those as well. But they have a new management, I believe, because I saw they now offered Vietnamese items also. Service was slower and the food not quite what I have had there in the past. On June 11, 2026, I arrived at O Happy Bread to pick up an order for my customer. When I entered the store, I informed the lady behind the counter that I was there for a pickup order. She immediately went to the back, and shortly afterward a manager wearing a red shirt with glasses came out and told me that the customer needed to call the store within 10 minutes or the order would be canceled. I immediately contacted my customer, and the customer called the store to confirm the order as requested. After the order was confirmed, I waited patiently inside the store. Approximately 30 minutes passed while I waited for the order to be prepared. During that time, my wife called and asked why I was taking so long. I explained that I was still waiting for my customer's order. She pointed out that I had already been there for more than 30 minutes. After ending the call, I approached the counter and politely asked the employee how much longer it would take before the order was ready. The employee did not answer my question and instead went to speak with the manager in the back. The manager then came out, and I again asked how much longer the order would take. Rather than providing an estimated wait time, the manager raised her voice and said, "I can't control the cooking!" I responded by explaining that I was only asking for an estimate of when the order might be ready. The manager then became more upset and ordered me to leave the store, stating that she had canceled the order. As I began walking toward the exit, I told her that I still needed the order for my customer. She again yelled, "No! Get out of the store!" At that point, I left the store as instructed. As I was walking away, I made a comment calling her an "old witch." Before I reached my vehicle, the manager rushed outside yelling, "YOU CALLED ME AN OLD BITCH! NEVER COME BACK TO THE STORE, YOU'RE BANNED!!" I replied that I had actually said "old witch," not what she claimed. I am not sharing this experience to attack or put down the business. I understand that delays can happen and that restaurants can become busy. My concern is with how the situation was handled. I was simply trying to get an update on the status of my customer's order after waiting more than 30 minutes. Instead of receiving an estimated wait time or a professional explanation, I was met with yelling, had the order canceled, and was told to leave the store and got banned. I have been delivering to my customers from O Happy Bread for starting on for 3 years with no problems. Until June 11, 2026. I believe the situation could have been handled much more professionally. A simple explanation, an estimated wait time, or a respectful conversation could have prevented the entire incident. Cute place that I had high hopes for based on the reviews. Everything smelled and looked delicious upon arrival. We ordered a cinnamon roll, coconut macaroon, ham and cheese croissant, blueberry cheesecake crepe, chocolate chip cookies, and some espresso. Cinnamon roll looked nice, but had a hard icing on it. I wouldn't describe it as gooey at all. It had the texture of a croissant. Overall very flaky and dry and not a lot of filling. Coconut macaroon was pretty good. I like the sign that points out what a macaroon vs macaron is. Blueberry cheesecake crepe was not good at all and I couldn't eat more than a bite. It was swimming in condensed milk and cold. It took about 15 min to get this and the ham and cheese croissant so I was hoping they would be at least warm. Ham and cheese croissant was my favorite, but it's not anything that special. Overall we spent like $70 on stuff that was just okay. Next time I might try a sandwich or bring some bread home, but I wasn't super impressed with the pastries read more

When we received our order the excitement that we had was all gone after the first bite the bread was so stale that it made my teeth bleed and hurt so bad. Such a nice and enjoyable experience every time I come here, and great food as well! Good, fairly quick service and everyone is always so friendly. The new phở is a great addition and I'm glad I got to try it. It's very flavourful and has a good amount of meat, and the broth is definitely a highlight! There were some add ons as well, and I heard it can be good with some sauces, too. I got the roast beef and steak phở, so I've gotta recommend it, but I heard all good things about the other dishes from those I was with as well! I also had a warm cherry turnover that was microwaved and served in a bag. It was served too hot, and it really should be served on a plate with a fork. For what I paid, I felt the establishment to be a little on the lazy side not serving a pastry to dine in on a plate. I had to ask for a fork. Awkward to eat off a paper wrapper. The croissant looked promising but didn't quite deliver--flaky enough but lacking that fresh, buttery punch I was hoping. The cookies were fine, though nothing memorable. Prices felt a bit on the high side for what you get, especially considering the taste and freshness weren't totally there. That said, the staff was really friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated.
