Ehh..Can't expect good Thai food in Pahrump. Maybe I'm spoiled from the big cities like LA, but eek, I would not come back here for the food Service was fine, portions are good, cost is not bad. But taste ain't there. There's like one server, one cleaner, and one cook. You gotta be cautious when you go to an asian spot with no asians inside. I mean population of Pahrump doesn't have many asians, but still. My so got the Pad See Ew and It was ewww. Would not get again. I got the Rad Nah Mee Krobe, which is like a gravy over fried noodles. It was quite salty and the noodles were way too crispy and it just didn't taste right. If you just want to come here and get full, it's okay... but if you're expecting authentic Thai food. This has been my first deep dive into the variety of Thai food. It's absolutely wonderful. I'm a fan of the drunken noodles. Their spice levels are just right from my pallet. They have a wide range, so you can customize in any way that you like. I love the additional flavors. They add to their crab Rangoon. It definitely stands out from the standard ones at other restaurants I've had. The ambience is super chill and inviting. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had, and I've been having Thai food for decades! I ordered Pad Thai with Tofu and the Thai-style mango salad with Sticky Rice on the side to-go. Everything was made completely fresh to order, with good attention to the spice level. Portions were generous, easily enough to feed two or three people. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. I didn't dine in but the ambiance was relaxing and comfortable. Free parking in the lot. read more

Seriously, give the one and only server (Lottie?) for the entire restaurant a raise... She is a superstar, and continues to power through the craziest times by herself AND with a smile on her face. I felt bad for the workload she has between being the host, server, bartender AND food runner for the ENTIRE restaurant. What a high stress environment... I was even commenting that I wouldn't be able to do it.. If she walked out, nothing would have gotten done. I do think she needs a little more support; customers were walking out due to long wait times, but it's expected having one server to bartend, host, run food, take orders, and close out checks for about 15 or so tables. There were two guys in the kitchen, and one was yelling expletives because the other Chef must have made a mistake. We could clearly hear it out as customers, which was pretty unprofessional. However, despite the chaos of one server/bartender/host/busser and the cursing kitchen staff, the food was pretty good here. We got a shrimp curry, fried tofu, chicken satay, and a pad thai. The curry was delicious and the walnuts were a nice surprise. The food was worth it for us because we ended up not waiting long, but the family before us walked out for the long wait. read more

I would give Chatthai a solid 3.5 stars but not quite there yet to give it 4 stars. It is probably the best, homemade, fresh food in Pahrump (amongst the fast food/fast casual options). We came on a Friday night (day after Xmas) around 6:30pm and they were slammed. We were probably part of the incoming dinner crowd that left Death Valley. Sadly, the restaurant staff miscalculated and sent their other chef home when it was dead between 3-6pm. They were left with 3 staff (chef, server who did everything (who was also the backup cook, hostess, bartender, answered phones/take-out order person, table busser) and a helper (who was helpful but the server had to tell him what to do so it was hard on the server to keep stopping and manage him.). Everyone was definitely under high stress. Instead of waiting for a table, we asked to sit at their small bar area (perfect for our party of 3!). As expected, our food took awhile to come but we chilled at the bar finding entertainment in overhearing the frustrated comments from the server (we felt so badly for her as she was definitely overwhelmed!)! Food had Thai "flavors" but definitely not as authentic. Wonton soup (4.5/5) - fresh ingredients, can easily serve 1 person as a meal or 2-4 as a side; Mixed veggie stirfry with beef (4/5)- beef was tender, flavorful sauce, fresh veggies; Yellow curry w/chicken (4/5)- creamy, curry flavor, tender chicken; Pad see Ew (3/5)- very heavy-handed on the sweet soy sauce (noodles were dark brown), a small handful of green Chinese broccoli and sliced carrots. Added crispy pork belly for extra charge- pork belly was cut into different sizes so some were cut thin and was too over crisped so was kinda hard and jerkeyed. Probably better with beef or chicken. We left a 25% tip for our server, not because the food or service was phenomenal, but it was all about her effort under the circumstances. But also, she had mentioned 3 tables that left before us did not leave a tip at all (which is f'ed up!)! I would understand to not tip if the server was rude and lazy but the 3 staff did the best they could under extreme pressure! As we were finishing our meal, the chef/owner came from LV (an hour drive away) to help out. I would go back to Chatthai again for a hot, fresh meal (probably the best food in Pharump) after checking out Death Valley but not around dinnertime during a holiday break! read more

Honestly, the highlight of our time in Pahrump and probably the best Thai we've had. My hubs continues to rave about it. We ordered our usual grub fare such as the Pad Thai with shrimp and Pad See Ew with crispy pork belly. I also got a Thai iced tea since we were on vacation. The pad Thai had generous portion of toppings. The shrimps were plump, the noodles were al dente and perfectly seasoned. No complaints and my husband cleared the plate without pause. My pad see ew was a big portion for me that I ended taking about half home. The crispy pork belly was the star here since they were fried to a chip consistency. The Thai tea was a bit meh since I thought it was too sweet for my liking. I would have preferred more tea flavor and less milky sweetness. Overall, I would definitely find myself a regular if I lived here or returned to the area. read more

The food was good, the ambiance is pleasant and our server was very welcoming. We had the Gang Gai (red curry with chicken), Pad Thai and the Thai style omelette. The pad Thai was very different from what we have had before, it had a lot more spice with moderate turmeric, it was good though. The Thai omelette was also a bit different, but more oily with a hint of maple syrup, good but I personally would have liked something more spicier. Overall a good option to checkout. read more

I came here with my bestie right after Death Valley around 7:30pm. Not too busy on a Tuesday night, but it was only one person taking orders and cashiering, etc. Her name was Sharon and she's an amazing person. She's super nice and friendly, very hard working. I feel bad that she's the only one doing everything at the front of the house, helping taking orders, helping people with take outs orders, dropping our food to us. She does love her job, but I think an extra helper would make a difference especially with the holidays coming up soon. My bestie and I ordered, Pad See Eww and Yellow Curry. The food was delicious. The pad see ew is very flavorful, but it is a little bit too much on the soy. It was salty towards the end, so I think mixing with some of my bestie's rice helped with the saltiness. The yellow curry was also very good. Light weight creamy coconut flavor. I will definitely come back when I do visit Death Valley again or happened to be in the area. We stopped by Chatthai Bistro after a full-day at Death Valley National Park. Coming from the Bay Area, we were a bit disappointed with the food. Granted, the Bay Area has a lot of Asian food choices so my opinion might be slightly biased. We got the Pad See Eww, Pad Thai (no peanuts), and Som Tum Lao (Lao Style Papaya Salad). Normally, Pad See Eww is a bit on the sweeter side but our dish had a strong soy sauce flavor (which is normally doesn't have). Additionally the Pad Thai tasted like they used ketchup and had a slightly sour after-taste. The Lao Style Papaya Salad was interesting and had more of a fish sauce taste so if that's your jam then get it. The silver linings were the portion sizes and our server. You can for sure buy one dish and share it between two people or pack half to-go if you each want to try something. Our server was so sweet, despite being the only one serving all the tables. She was considerable and attentive (as much as she could be). If I'm in the area again, I most likely will not be coming back. read more

I was wasn't expecting much being in Pahrump but as soon as I walked in I was blown away. Walking up towards the bar what caught my eye was the colorful vegetables in the kitchen ready to be thrown into the wok that instantly made me hungry. I could not get over the sweet smell of basil and curry so I ordered the Pad Ped w/ Shrimp at level 6 and the Pad kanah level 6. The vegetables were as great as they looked and cooked perfectly and the meats were tender and juicy. I couldn't help myself and started slurping the curry off the plate I had. Don't forget to pair the food with the Thai Beer they have! The service was awesome as well and we had a great time chatting with the server. She made sure we were well taken care of. Shout out to the chef for the delicious food and we also saw he was training other chefs as well. Like I said, I wasn't expecting much but this place set the bar for Pahrump restaurants. This place has excellent food and essentially perfect service. Seriously this lady (Lottie or Lonnie) can single-handedly serve an entire restaurant with zero kinks while providing detailed service. I would have completely understood if she didn't give us the little after dinner strawberry snack thingies. But she did! Even though she was running around serving everybody else at the same time. She must be able to remember a dozen things in her brain at once. This woman could serve at the French Laundry. I'm not kidding. And the food! Delicious scrumptious awesomeness. I love the larb, I love the panang curry, I ESPECIALLY loved the steak salad ("10/10" as Lonnie/Lottie says!) I love the pad phet, and I love the grilled pork belly appetizer. Oh, and I love Chatthai! I haven't been to every restaurant in Pahrump, but I'll bet you $1000 this is basically the best (/only truly decent) restaurant in town. I will give 5 stars for my first visit. Sadly, the food I ordered the following night on my 2nd visit would have earned only 3 stars. Visited here when in town for a conference. Me and my buddy both have Thai wives so we know Thai food. The menu offers many options that are not what you see in most places. Kudos to the chef for those choices. Gouy Theaw Tom Yum deserves a standing ovation. Amazing and flavorful. My buddy ordered Penang Curry that he said was wonderful. We also ordered some salad offerings that were great. We were so impressed we decided to go again the following night. We tried different options and they were just meh. Pad Ped was really disappointing. I don't recall what my friend ordered but he didn't care to finish it. Same chef. Not sure what happened. I'd recommend you try this place but your order may determine your opinion read more
