We went to Amargosa NV for a weekend getaway and stayed at Longstreet Hotel. Jacks is the only restaurant there or anywhere close by. It's not a big place. On Friday and Saturday nights they close at 9:30 pm. We got there at about eight pm and were able to have dinner. My son ordered the steak and I had the fried chicken. The food tasted amazing! The steak was so flavorful and tender! The chicken was also very flavorful and just the right amount of crunch. We had breakfast the next morning and that was absolutely amazing too. We really wish this restaurant was closer to home. The service was very good as well. Every individual was nice and helpful. read more

Considering the desolate and remote location in the middle of nowhere close by Death Valley, the restaurant looks like an old 50s diner . We ordered the fried chicken steak which was has a light crispy taste and was great. I also had the meat loaf which was just ok. The fried fire were meh as they're too thin. The baked potato was disappointed and the veggies that came with the entrees look like frozen cuts from a grocery store. Overall not bad and with reasonable prices. read more

Shockingly, and I mean shockingly, surprised to find food that I didn't regret spending money on. The meatloaf honestly looked (and still looks, if you view the attached photo) atrocious when it arrived at the table, but under the partially concealed gravy, the meatloaf was tender and fluffy. The sides, though, were forgettable. The mashed potatoes were flavorless without the gravy and the carrots were as plain as they could be. The service wasn't too bad and the food came out in about 20 minutes. You seat yourself and wait for the waitress to come over to start ordering. read more

We were staying the night and ordered both dinner and breakfast here. The restaurant is small but has booths and tables and quick service. The staff were very friendly and the menu is huge. We enjoyed everything that we had: fried chicken, cheeseburger, veggie omelet and blueberry pancakes. Prices are reasonable. read more

We travel full time and we stopped here overnight and stayed at the RV park for 1 night. We were very grateful this place was along our backroads route. We had dinner and it was very good. I had the chicken wrap and my husband had the barbecue bacon burger. We both had tots also. The food came quickly and it was very good! The service was friendly attentive and welcoming also. All the staff at the casino restaurant and the store were very helpful friendly and courteous. Also our small dog was allowed everywhere very much appreciated! read more

My family and I were visiting Death Valley National Park and were looking for dinner in the area. Our hotel recommended Longstreet Casino's restaurant so we checked it out. There was a heavy smell of manure outside the restaurant but inside, it was clean and lively! Our waitress was super nice and welcoming and sat us in a booth quickly. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak for dinner. It was hot and toasty and I loved all the melty cheese on it. We also decided to split a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream afterwards for dessert. It was so delicious and sweet. Overall, solid American diner in a pretty remote spot so can't ask for anything more!! read more

I am a 100% disabled veteran with a service dog. I was in the restaurant and Destiny was the server. Destiny kicked us out saying no dogs are allowed in the restaurant. I asked what about service dogs. She went and got her manager and they kicked us out. So, if you have a service animal, don't go here when Destiny is working or you won't be welcome. We have stayed here for four days before this happened and we were welcome all during this time in the restaurant. read more

Food (3.25/5): On two different nights, I had the Wild West Jalapeno Burger, Big Sampler, Baked Potato, Valley Grande Nachos, and Philly Cheesesteak. I also tried the spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parm--both pasta dishes were complete misses. The burger itself was okay, but I was expecting the jalapeños to be sliced and added to the burger as opposed to one big jalapeño on the side. The big sampler was underwhelmingly small and mediocre. The valley grande nachos were decently sized but the flavor was a miss--at least the added jalapeños were sliced. The Philly cheesesteak and baked potato were decent fortunately--the saving grace to not rate the food lower. Service (3.5/5): The staff seemed friendly. However, they were very inattentive in stopping by and refilling water; they seemed quite busy on the Saturday and Sunday night I visited since I was staying in the casino hotel. Ambiance (3.5/5): This restaurant is located within the casino hotel and was quite busy the two weekend nights while I stayed at the casino to explore Death Valley. The casino itself smells like cigarettes, but the restaurant was pretty clean, and the booth seats are very comfy. It was a convenient spot to eat at to end our Death Valley adventures. read more

Food was decent. Great prices for convenience and it was great enjoying live music with Jonny Bird. The waiter level of service - lukewarm, nice, and professional. read more

This review is inflated by the fact that dining options are very limited in Death Valley. Be careful what you order here! Some menu items are okay, while some menu items taste like they were added only for menu variety. The chicken parmesan was just breaded chicken with parmesan cheese grated on top. The pasta and marinara was pretty much the equivalent of store boxed linguini and heated up jar sauce. My friends who ordered the chopped steak said it was more like a cooked beef hamburger patty. I would say the sandwiches and burgers here are pretty good! The crinkle cut fries are average. If a choice of potatoes is given, baked potato or mashed potatoes are probably the move. Amidst all of the disappointments regarding the food, the booth seats are comfy, the servers here are nice (albeit a bit understaffed), and this was a welcome rest dinner after a day of hiking in Death Valley. read more

Service was horrible The waitress was complaining about everything and we could here every word she was saying If I had an employee with that attitude she would be fired She was pissed because of what the shift before left her Guess what not the customers fault so don't get short and shitty with them Also you work on tips you think you would be nice to your customers I asked for a refill on my water and dessert for my husband and you would have thought we asked her to cutoff her arm if you don't like your job go find another one that you don't deal with the public. Because when you yell across the floor to the bartender or whatever his position was that you've had enough than maybe you should quit Yet I still gave you over a 20% tip read more

Went there last night. We have eaten there numerous times. But last night is the last. The food was awful. Ribs were so tough, cooked carrots were cold, condiment bottles were absolutely nasty dirty, I don't think they have ever been cleaned, my Chef salad, the lettuces old and terrible. My father n law has been sick all night from eating there. I really think the health department should step in and have this place totally inspected. Especially the kitchen. It was awful. Got the touted Big Jim's rib eye steak and it was not as fatty or oily as other high end steakhouses. It even had a pleasant char on the edges. Lots of brown gravy over a big scoop of mashed potatoes. Veg medley. The star was the steak that made the sides pale in contrast. Coffee was very good here. read more

Inside the Casino just up S.R. 373 in Nevada . Clean as a whistle, okay service, I think they could use one more server, good food for decent prices . The casino has clean restrooms across the lobby . Gas pumps outside that are a bit cheaper than Ca., maybe a better mix of gasoline too like Az. This emoji perfectly sums up our experience, but let us elaborate. 1. The restaurant closed 20 minutes early when there are no food options within a considerable drive, while a dozen or so "customers" were waiting to be served. 2. Hostess was very rude and unapologetic on her first day with the restaurant. Clearly she is not the right fit. Fortunately, the experienced Alexia stepped in. 3. The burger was a frozen patty from the local supermarket and the fries are the Ore Ida Golden Crinkle variety. 4. Food was WAY overpriced. 5. Service was not done in the order of arrival. We received our order before a group that arrived 30 minutes before us. 6. Food served in polystyrene to-go containers. Seriously! 7. Cigarette smoke from casino lingers in the restaurant and there is a cigarette vending machine a mere 20-feet away. 8. Lesson learned. We should have grabbed snacks from the hotel gift shop for dinner. read more

The food was less than good. The waitress was the same. The waitress never came back to our table to see if we needed anything. She seemed to have an attitude. I guess because we were not regulars she just didn't care. I won't be going there again. You would think for a casino out in the middle of nowhere the service would be better. Very decent food in the middle of nowhere. Located inside Longstreet Inn Casino & RV Resort where we were staying, so it was convenient for us to grab both dinner and breakfast here while visiting Death Valley National Park. Wings and fries, fish and chips and two egg breakfast weren't bad. Wished the fries were hot and fresh, but they weren't terrible. We ordered takeout and ate in our room because it's located next to the casino, so it smelled of cigarettes. On Friday night, they had live music, which was cool. read more

My husband and I have gone to this restaurant in the past and havent experienced any issues with their food or service. We had company at our house recently and commented on how good the food was etc. The night we went the food wasnt cooked, and the cook didnt even take the advice of the food server that the food isn't cook and to take his time. I noticed while there a number of dishes were sent back because the food wasn't cooked. This cook was NOT giving this restaurant a good name that night and wouldn't even take good advice from his server. I think that owner of thus establishment should rethink the cook before he loses more clients. There isn't many restaurants in Amargosa, and when cooks don't care about the food he is giving to their clients, it's time to change the cook to someone that cares. read more

It's the cafe inside the inn and they have a good selection of food options. I had dinner and breakfast and was not disappointed. There are not many options near Death Valley National Park and the convenience of having a cafe in the inn was great. Service can be a bit slow if the cafe has lots of guests. Alcohol is served by the bar next to the cafe and you can bring your drinks to your dinner table. The bar and cafe are managed by separate establishments. Saturday night was fun with a live country band. Overall a winner, mainly for the convenience. read more

Didn't expect much given the remote location, but we were quite satisfied. We had breakfast here on a Saturday while staying at the hotel. Breakfast burger: 4.5/5. Fresh vegetables and egg really good, with well seasoned hash browns. Spanish omelette: 3.5/5. Needed some more seasoning but overall solid. Toast came pre-buttered and was good. Coffee: 3/5. It was standard and inoffensive. Service was a little slow but very warm. The mountain views outside through the glass walls were great. Tables had hot sauce on the ready. They need to update their hours!!!! Sure as hell isn't open until 8pm! Closed at 2pm on a Monday, what a joke.

Dining options are limited when visiting Death Valley National Park - particularly when the restaurants inside the park are closed or have limited hours due to Covid. Hence, we ended up here. Either due to popularity and/or lack of choice, Jack's was full Monday at 7:00pm on the night prior to us having breakfast. At 7:45am, people were already waiting for breakfast - an indication that the restaurant should open earlier than 8:00am. We too, were there when they opened and breakfast took a lengthy hour which is too long to get cold hash browns, burnt toast with a scoop of whipped butter mashed in between, and tough eggs in an omelet with unevenly distributed ingredients. Additionally, the food was not seasoned. Beware of the screwball pricing where coffee is $3, a side of toast is $3, and an English muffin is $4, but a side of potatoes is $4. read more

After losing track of time exploring Ash Meadows we opted to check out Jack's Cafe instead of driving back to Las Vegas for dinner. We thought this place was great. Our kids liked the appetizer sampler and quesadilla. I got the swiss mushroom burger with onion rings and it was tasty. My wife got the crispy chicken sandwich, bread was nicely buttered and griddled and she enjoyed it. Food was way better here than at The Oasis in Death Valley, and half the price. read more

My service was excellent. The food was okay. I had the open faced turkey sandwich which was very good the turkey was sliced kind of thin I thought I would have more like carved turkey. The gravy was good it wasn't too salty. The mashed potatoes were so hot I burned my throat. I have burned my tongue before but never my throat they were not even that good once they cooled down. I was extremely unhappy with the potatoes. It was also served with a side of vegetables that looked pretty bland. I had mozzarella sticks for an appetizer they were done perfectly they were gooey and I liked the marinara it was served with. My friend got the appetizer sampler and he liked that as well and he got the chicken fried steak which he also enjoyed. He thought lunch was better than I did but he also didn't have atomic hotness mashed potatoes! And this is really weird thing to complain about I know but when I picked up my fork I noticed it was super flimsy but the corners are really sharp so it's a really flimsy, thin, and a sharply uncomfortable utensil to eat with and I normally don't even think of that stuff. Like when have you ever picked up a fork and thought wow this is really kind of sharp and uncomfortable to use?? There were also quite a few flies around us while we were eating we had at least four. When I go somewhere if there's one or two flies I can deal with it that's fine but when there's a fly problem that kind of makes me question the cleanliness. When we went out the front entrance the front doors had at least 20 to 30 flies on it and there were three dead ones in between the entrance doors so I know it's not just the restaurant that has a fly problem-it's the entire Longstreet Casino property probably. I forgot I also had dessert it was the chocolate silk pie I don't normally like pie or chocolate but this was actually quite delicious I really liked the cross it was like flaky but still Millie was really good the chocolate was a little thicker than a moose consistency but not quite Cheesecakey consistency read more

Info said they were open, apparently closes at 2:00 and reopens at 4:00. We got there at 2:05 and it was shut down. Their website says they have lunch until 4:00. Very few options in this area so ended up getting snacks at their store. Update your website!!! read more

Average food. Average price. Average service. This place is weird. It's in the middle of nowhere and I cannot figure out who would come here. The hotel and casino looks and smells pretty standard - aka gross. But it's truly in the middle of nowhere. We stayed at the Amargosa Inn up the road and came here for an early breakfast. There was nothing wrong with the food or service, but I'd be surprised if it's still in business in 10 years most of their clientele will probably be dead by then. read more

I enjoyed my mozzarella sticks and my partner really enjoyed their burger. Would definitely return next time I am out by Death Valley!

Stayed here at the casino for a few days and ended up trying a bunch of things on their menu. First off, the weekend dinners are so much fun with the live music and an exceptionally talented singer when we were there who seemed to specialize in music from the 80s and was darn good with his range. The Burgers here are really good. They are massive and cooked perfectly to the temp you request. I got the Jalapeño Jack cooked mid-rare a couple of times and absolutely loved it. The burger was beautifully seasoned, the bun toasted, the toppings fresh and the house sauce was excellent and added a nice touch. They serve it with a side of fire roasted jalapeño which makes it all the more interesting. The fries are pretty good but the onion rings are greasy and meh. My wife tried a couple of their sandwiches and they were not bad. My biggest disappointment here was the Prime Rib Dip. It was easily one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. I LOVE Prime Rib Dips and they were out of it for the first few days we were there but on our last day they said they had it. I was so excited but ended up super disappointed when they brought me a dry mealy sandwich with stale bread and slices of beef that would put most jerky to shame; that was nowhere even close to what prime rib is; it was tasteless and dry and tough and beyond ridiculous. There aren't really any options around here and this is the only place you can grab a bite so there's nothing to compare it too. Stick to the burgers and you'll be happy. The service is really nice and the staff is friendly and accommodating, especially at dinner. read more

This 4* rate is given by comparing the places nearby. This is middle of nowhere. It is hard to find a place to eat. We barely had a choice and fell into this place. First I am going to admit that I am trying to this weekend on the cheap. I am giving Jack's 3 stars partly b/c last night's gas station fish and chips were not edible. I expected the same from another local restaurant, but NOT SO! My steak and cheese sandwich is simple, but tasty. Onion rings from Jack's are fried in clean oil. We came here after visiting the wild life refugee, this place was recommended by the employee at the visitor center. This cafe is inside a small casino. They serve regular diner menu. The chicken was lightly battered and crispy. I loved it. You can get alcoholic beverages at the bar. Bartender and people sitting at the bar were nice. We got some beer to go with the chicken.
