The service here was good, but the food unfortunately missed the mark for us. The rice and beans felt like they were straight out of the microwave--the beans lacked flavor and had a strange corn-like taste, while everything else had a dry, chalky texture. The salsas had a solid kick of spice, but the consistency was very different from what I'm used to. With only two restaurant options in town, I'm hoping things improve, but for now, we'll likely wait to see what the other local spot brings. Chips were stale and I'd call that salsa more of a tomato sauce with garnish. This place is AWESOME! It is just about the only restaurant on the drive from Vegas to Death Valley National Park, but don't worry, it's all you need. It has the perfect vibe of "middle of nowhere " and great food. I had the enchiladas and they were awesome. Very reasonably priced. Service was instant. Off the main path to the big city hides this gem of a place. I've seen many cars at once parked here when passing through so figured it must be the place to try in town. Plenty of parking out front and plenty of tables to sit at on the inside. I ordered the Chile Relleno with rice and beans. The staff was kind and had my food out fresh and hot within 15 minutes. One of the best ones I've had yet and wi be back to try other items from their menu. read more

I love when we find lil gems like this place. Who would imagine you would get such great food from a lil place in the middle of nowhere?!This is one of the few restaurants in the area and they do not disappoint. They were very accommodating to my vegetarian needs and surprised me with the amount of different veggies in my enchilada. Outstanding Mexican food, in a very clean place with a great service. We ordered some tacos to go, very simple. We asked for one of each. (Fish, shrimp, carnitas, carne molida, etc. a mix of premium meats). First they tried to charge us extra tacos we asked them to fix it. Then when we got our order, we didn't find our premium meats , but duplicate of the cheap ones. So 1/5 for honesty. El Valle was a gem in the desert. We stayed near by while visiting Death Valley National Park. They had great service and an extensive menu. Our food came out hot and pretty quickly. Actually came back for dinner again. If in the area I would recommend trying this place out. Sounds like they have a breakfast I wwish we would have tried. read more

There aren't many places to eat in the Amargosa Valley. But that is not why you should eat here. Make sure to stop here because the food is really good, and the people are so friendly! We were in the area a few weeks ago, and we're very happy to find this option. Freshly made Mexican food....yum! And they had Day of the Dead decorations all over, which added such a festive atmosphere. While we were eating, lots of locals called in or.picked up orders...clearly it's popular! We didn't have time to stop in for breakfast, but I noticed a professional Expresso machine; def something the nearby casino/hotel we were staying at didn't have! We drove into the area on a trip and saw good reviews. This a small restaurant in a desolate area. Not much to look at. We were there on C in n o de Mayo and no one was there. Not much on ambience. Young man who waited on us was pleasant. This is sort diner with everything from Mexican, diner food, and pizza. We had the Mexican and were sorely sorry. Breakfast burrito was ok but red salsa all heat and no flavor. Not edible. The other order was Chile verde burrito. Green sauce sour, no flavor, looked like just out of can. Pork inside was dry and chewy. Rice was non-rescript. No chips, no salsa as is common in most situations down Mexican restaurants. I'd probably keep doing to Pahrump or Vegas next time. Very straight-forward and basic Mexican-American food. Using plenty of pre-made food, either made in-house and then microwaved or sauces from a jar, the saving grace was that the proteins were cooked-to-order and grilled with a flavorful caramelized crust. For dinner, we ordered the two enchilada entrees offered. The enchilada montadas were layers of corn tortillas smothered in red salsa that tasted like pizza sauce but the beef was nicely cooked. Similarly, the enchilada verde were filled with an excellent grilled chicken. El Valle is one of the few places to eat in this empty area. It's located a few miles off the highway. Just looking at the name you assume it's Mexican. Also, they're open at breakfast. Prices are cheap for most things. I was making a trip out to Nye County. I hadn't had anything to eat that morning. There's a severe lack of anything in this area. It takes awhile to get anywhere on Route 95, which goes through lots of mountainous desert. The intersection at the Area 51 Alien Travel Center is where you turn. It goes a few miles before you see this place. It looks kind of sketchy but I seriously just needed something to hold me off. Inside is a small dining area. The owners and most of the customers are Mexican but they understand English so don't be afraid to ask questions. I can speak some Spanish, which made things pretty easy. The menu is big for a place this small. Most items are made with cheese or meat, but they also serve breakfast. There's not much that's vegetarian friendly because the Mexican menu is authentic, therefore there's lots of beef, cheese, and other meats. Since I was hungry I got breakfast. There's small items like bagels and toast. If you want something that's heartier, there's omelets. There's also American food for lunch and dinner, like meatloaf and sandwiches. It didn't take too long to get my food. Others have said it takes awhile, but that must be talking about lunch. They have limited options but ask if they have any specials. read more

With the salsa and consomme from the tacos, as well as some salt and pepper, it was more edible. Side of fries: 3.5/5. These taste like they just came fresh from McDonald's. McDonald's makes awesome fries, when you know that's what you're getting into... Freshly fried, probably not handcut, with (not enough) ketchup packets. Tacos with consomme: 3.5/5. Tacos themselves were solid. The consomme was not as flavorful as I expected. Same with the beans and rice. Complimentary chips and salsa: 4/5. Spicy and satisfying. This restaurant is a champ in the middle of nowhere, attempting to serve a wide audience -- they even have pizza and burgers if that's your jam. I will give them that. (However, I do recommend Ruby a few miles away if you prefer more flavorful Latin food.) The service is warm and courteous. The decorations are memorable. Note: almost all the women, including myself, had a sweater or jacket on, so if you get cold easily, bring something to cover up your skin after wandering in the dry heat all day. read more

I usually don't like to leave negative comments, but this has happened once too many times now. My hubby and I were trying to finish my birthday on a great note, because we had a fantastic weekend and hubby did an outstanding job in making me happy. We went down to this local restaurant and I have to say they do awesome breakfast, but when it comes to eating I DO NOT recommend eating here. The first time we ate late from this restaurant I ordered ahead and we picked it up. They messed up our order and I didn't eat that night. Tonight, we went in there, I ordered the burger with fries and hubby ordered hamburger burrito and said the rice and beans would be on the side, but when he received his burrito, the rice and beans were inside, not what it stated from their menu. Then I bit into mine and the burger wasn't cooked all the way threw. (Photo attached). I think when the young gentleman that works there at night doesn't care about the customers at all, he's not personable and not attentive. Excellent family restaurant in the middle of nowhere. There is no good food 20 miles of either side of this place. The meals were healthy and refreshing compared to the fried foods and endless burgers in Death Valley. We came for dinner and it was so good, we came back for dinner. Highly recommend coming here for a nice cup of coffee and some home cooked breakfast. read more

There are not a lot of food options in the Death Valley except for the 2 hotels inside. We drove about 30 mins to this place Nevada and it did not disappoint. The food is as good as the reviews say. Thanks to all the Yelpers out there who gave this place good reviews. We checked this place out based on your recommendations. It was a great spot to stop for a bite after heading out of Las Vegas on the way to Death Valley. The manageress/owner was accommodating and let us help ourselves to beers in the cooler. Lively Ranchero music played as we tucked in to super tasty enchiladas and fajitas. The homemade salsas - both red and green - were spicy without being obnoxious. We even tried something on the menu called tostalitas, made with corn tortillas, melty Mexican cheese and chunks of jicama. It tasted better than it sounds. It's a tough location to make a go of it and they're trying super hard. If you're passing through stop in and give this place some Yelp love. read more

We are on our way back to Reno from a trip to Vegas and we were looking for some breakfast we read the reviews and wanted to check it out, the place is isolated but it is totally worth it, the waitress was very nice and checked on us, we weren't brought chips and salsa as in other Mexican restaurants use to do it, up until we asked for them which isn't a big deal she might have forgotten or it's only upon request any how, she brought us a huge bowl of salsa and lots of crispy chips I ordered the super skillet and was delicious my kids had the small burritos and they ate them my wife got the taco platter and she loved the chicken over all but says the other ones were well seasoned as well, generally it was a 5 plus star review oh and we were asked if we wanted to write the place were we came from and the miles which was kinda cool!
