Mexican food is amazing here - chile relleno, enchiladas, rice and beans. Breakfast burrito and omelette were also solid. The ambiance and service are pretty poor, and you'll walk out smelling like fried bacon, but the food alone is worth it if you're passing through this small town for lunch.

Breakfast burrito

Great little spot for breakfast or lunch. We did breakfast, wife had a waffle which she said had great flavor, I had a breakfast burrito. The latter had lots of potatoes, which may or may not be to your liking but I thought it was delicious. The tortilla was nice and flaky. The dining area is spotless clean, but small, so might not be the best for a big group. I will stop here again the next time we pass through!

Eggs Benedict

At first glance it looks shabby. Door is filthy. An easy clean for a first impression. Inside is cute decor with 5 four-tops. Seems clean except for the overhead vents in the ceiling. . Again. An easy clean. Please take them down and scrub. One is directly over the beverage area. Also many light bulbs out. Another easy fix. It's the little things. Our server (only one on and when we walked in it was just us and two other groups but got busy fast) seemed either very disinterested or just struggled with conversation but did a good job keeping up. Food was ok. Not the best. Not the worst. My first time having eggs Benedict so I can't tell if it was cooked correctly or not. Sauce was tasty but egg had zero texture and muffin wasn't crispy. Ham was very thin. Hubby had the Spanish omelet. Veggies were undercooked. Both our hashbrowns needed a bit more sear and his toast was soggy. (My stomach is a bit ick right now so I am truly hoping the breakfast isn't the reason.) $2.50 for coffee and I never got the refill I asked for. Was good tasting though. $26.34 for the meal. And the bathrooms was really gross. One of the few games in town. So I hope they read this review and clean a bit.

Gema's Cafe is a great stop if you're just looking for a simple, no-frills breakfast. The menu is limited, which I actually appreciate--it makes ordering quick and easy without overthinking. I had the ham omelet with homemade potatoes, and everything was freshly cooked and satisfying. The potatoes were a bit salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. Overall, the food was good, portions were decent, and the prices were very reasonable for the area. Perfect place for someone just passing through Beatty and wanting a solid, freshly made breakfast.

We were passing thru Beatty when we saw this cafe and stopped. Young lady serving us, seemed sooo far removed. Texting, you name it. Service was ok, just a distracted teenager. We both ordered the croissant sandwich and I had fries to share with hubby. Very good sandwich and fries. Yummy. We appreciated this place for lunch. Cute place to stop.

Ranchero Omelet

This was a quiet little cafe on our way to Laughlin. We stopped for breakfast. I had the ranchero omelette and the sauce was excellent. Our server was very sweet. A great place too pull in with ample parking as we were towing our fifth wheel, and we were served right away!

Texas skillet breakfast, with sourdough toast and side of fresh fruit.

I've been eating at this restaurant during Death Valley visits for years, and it's always very tasty and consistent. I had the Texas Skillet which was a generous size, well prepared and topped with a tasty ranchera sauce. It came with a side of very fresh fruit, including attractive dragon fruit. Service is good and prompt. In an area where it can be tough to find good food, Gema's is a solid option.

Cali Burrito

Came here after a long hike and absolutely devoured the Cali Burrito, which was delicious. I'm a big fan of crispy fries in burritos, and this one did not disappoint. The pricing here is very good, where you can get a number of items without spending a great deal. So I ordered the burrito and a smoothie. This is a chill, local spot. There are clean bathrooms and tables, good service, and good food. Not much else to ask for. Value: 5/5 Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3/5

Counter and the dining room.

My chicken wet burrito was amazing. It was full flavored and just the right amount of spice. I should have taken a picture of my empty plate. The dining room is a little run down and needs some work, but don't let this deter you from some great food.

An old diner in the middle of nowhere really…read more... Driving by, my brother and I thought, wow, that place doesn't even look open and it doesn't look like it would be very good so we went to the Candy and Nut place that we were there for, we shopped and on the way out, we asked people that worked there and they all said it doesn't look like much but is really great inside. So back we went and Yeah, it had quirks. The waitress was super friendly, I am sorry I didn't get her name.. It was small with about 10 tables. The one we sat at was super wobbly and the floor was stained and I thought, well, this is going to be interesting. I liked the deco--old photos of old stars, cars, old coke glasses, very unique and looked it up while we waited for our drinks, its been there for 60 years.... I got a soda and my brother a coffee. He said it was good. I got eggs and hashbrowns and he got the same + bacon. Served on a paper plate (I laugh because we don't use plates at home) but it was good. we saw burros walking by. The bathroom was private (Outside on the side of the building, like a gas station might have) and it was clean... it locked. I did hear a burro walk by hooting, that was, well, a hoot. All in all, the menu looked good--Though I am glad I eat eggs because if I didn't, there would not be much for Vegans... But I would still go back on my next visit to the area.

Pulled in ten minutes prior to close but was told they were closing. Pretty lame, I was hungry…read more Food looks good though. Will try again in the future and revise review pending experience

Walking inside the gas station it's sectioned off to the left. They do seem to have a fly issue on the gas station as some had said. Hopefully that Is something they will rectify. However, its hard to find good Indian food these days. Especially in such a remote area such as this, and I found the food here was actually really delightful. Sometimes you have to go to a hole in the wall, that lacks the sparkle and refinement visually to get the flavor you have been searching for. The cashier was polite as he took our order. We got the butter chicken, mango lassi, and a potato stuffed paratha bread. It was perfect to share between two people. The meat was tender and flavorful, and I loved that there were nuts in the sauce and the spices were more complex. I find a lot of Indian places dont add those touches in the states. Rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was so delicious! Warm and layered with that soft potatoes filling. It was great to dip into the butter chicken sauce. They also had a side of yogurt and a chutney. The chutney was not my favorite thing in the world, it tasted perfumey. We got the food mild incase our child wanted any, but they do offer spice levels. The mango lassi was divine! Bursting with flavor and not to thick. If flies were not attacking me this would have been 5 stars. I didn't experience not feeling welcome in any way because I am not the same ethnicity as the workers like some had mentioned. I just thought that was important to mention. If you want yummy food and a place to stretch your legs its a great alternative to the less than stellar cuisune you often find on this route to tahoe in the smaller towns.

This place is like that: In addition to the usual roadside gas station, convenience store, there is an Indian restaurant inside that is absolutely terrific! The place is clean, the staff is more than friendly. The menu isn't big, but it has all the typical indian dishes. I had the chicken curry, hot. (The waiter told me it was "Indian hot," not "American hot" but I've had hotter. Pro-Tip #1: When you order, get the 'hot'.) The portions were delicious and huge; despite overeating because it was so tasty, I still took away leftovers. They offer both dine-in and take-away service. But... Pro-Tip #2: If you would like a drink to accompany your meal, get it from the C-Store cooler (and pay for it at the counter) before you get your meal, as drinks aren't on the menu. It's literally in the middle of nowhere: Half-way between Las Vegas and Tonopah avoids the hustle and bustle and bright city lights. But if you're on 95, plan on stopping here for a delicious meal! PS: They also have an "American" menu, so burgers, grilled cheese, etc... are also available. But srsly, get the Indian food! PPS: While you're here you can stock up on the Area-51 Alien accoutrements at reasonable prices, too!

We were staying in the park for two nights so we had a couple of dinners and breakfasts. I tried to be healthy and get the stuffed poblano peppers and those were decent but I wouldn't reccommend them-unless you're vegetarian. The next night I gave up and just went with a bison burger which was solid. For breakfast if you get to the breakfast bar early enough there are fresh mixed berries and plantains which were a unique touch. The prices weren't too bad either. The staff were all very friendly, the meals came out quickly, and the restaurant and Saloon had a rustic decor that went with the locale. Since we weren't traveling with children I preferred the Saloon with the beautiful views. Considering all that has made things difficult lately, tariffs, wars, etc... the fact that you can get a decent meal in a remote location is pretty impressive.
