This place is always busy during their extensive hours of 12pm to 10pm. Super friendly staff. Very cheerful interior with a fair amount of seating. Plenty of outdoor seating for a cool 100F evening at 9pm The Sunday's are so generous in terms of ice cream, easily split for 2.

We came here a couple of times during our stay at the hotel here. The first time we ordered food including a veggie burger, burger, and side of the fries. We of course got dessert. The side of fries is huge. It's perhaps enough for 3 people so I recommend sharing and not over ordering. The black bean burger was good but it kept falling apart so it was not my favorite thing. My partner said that the meat in the burger was a little small. The staff here can be a hit or miss -- some are helpful while others are not really. The sauce they use on the burgers is pretty mild but good and the cheese and bread were also great. The ice cream is pretty good. During our time here, we ordered huckleberry ice cream (which we thought was the freshest/best), pistachio almond, and the bunny stripe. All were pretty good but when we ordered a double in a waffle cone, we were surprised it was the same size as a single in a waffle cone, so that's a little trick though it could vary depending on the staff scooping the ice cream.

Given the limited food options in Death Valley, I'd say this spot is one of the better choices. I stopped by for lunch and really enjoyed my meal. That said, ordering can be a bit chaotic. The shop is small, and the line winds right down the main path, making it feel a little hectic. I arrived just before the rush and still waited about 10-15 minutes to get to the ordering counter. My boyfriend and I both ordered burgers, which were really tasty. I added bacon to mine--a great choice--while he got a shake and I opted for cookie dough ice cream. Both were creamy, delicious, and hit the spot after a long hike. The service setup adds to the chaos, as they call out your number when your order is ready, and with the line cutting through the shop, it can feel a bit stressful trying to get to the counter. Overall, despite the busy atmosphere, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our food. We'd definitely eat here again.

Uninformative receipt. Doesn't tell you what you ordered. They said they can't print a better receipt.

Likes: + Pleasant interior decor. + Polite staff. . The food was only moderately filling, considering how much I had to order ($49!) after a long hike before finally feeling full. Non-likes: - Mostly unhealthy food here. No fruit. Limited vegetables. - Families often bring screaming, crying babies. Very annoying. - SLOW service! Only 1 cashier serving 30 guests on a Sunday 3pm. They need to open up 1-2 more cashiers and work more efficiently. - Terribly long wait. Had to wait about a half hour in a slow-moving line before taking my order. I'm starving and the other restaurants are closed or a bit far away. - Limited indoor seating. At least there are a few outdoor tables. - Dirty tables. - Uninformative receipt. Doesn't list all my orders. They said they can't print a better receipt. I had: $16.50 Bacon Double burger + $13 Chili cheese footlong + $9 Bacon & tomato grilled cheese + $7 Loaded waffle fries + tax = $49.03 Just more than enough for one person!

Super cute place that takes you back to an old school ice cream parlor. The 50s perhaps? I had to take a picture of the ketchup and mustard bottles I know I know silly but couldn't help it so cute. Great customer service Indy was our server and she was pleasant and made a delicious coffee shake. The boy had birthday cake ice cream with hot fudge then after chicken tenders. I could have gotten the sherbet or vanilla made with coconut milk but I'll save the sweets for tomorrow on my birthday!

Don't ask me how they get that much dairy into the middle of the hottest place on earth, but here they are, doin' it. This place is truly iconic, straight out of the 50's. The colors and décor was just perfect, and yes, quite the oasis for us. While the service took a bit worth how busy it was, you could tell the staff was working hard and were super polite. My coffee malt milkshake was super good. This isn't a combination that you see every day and it really hit the spot after our short hike. My wife decided on the strange combination of cherry coke and butter pecan float, but it was honestly good too. We also ordered some waffle fries with the table and they were nice and crispy. I mixed my own fry sauce with the mayo and catsup provided, which was a nice touch. I hope that next time we come to Death Valley we have more time to spend here.

Ice cream in Death Valley? Sign me up! After hiking through Gold Canyon we decided we needed a little snack. This adorable shop takes you right back to the 50's style ice cream parlors of years gone by. It was so cute, and we felt so welcomed by the friendly folks working there. We shared a coffee malt milkshake and a float with butter pecan ice cream and cherry coke, both of which we loved. We also shared a plate of fries (waffle cut, one of my favorites) that were seasoned with something like old bay or Tony C's. Either way, we loved the fries. They were perfectly crispy on the outside but pillow-y on the inside. Over all, this was the perfect after noon break from hiking. We would love to come back down and try the world famous date shake!

    Old timey ice cream parlor

We stopped in on our way through Death Valley after the visitor center. We were so surprised that there was an ice cream parlor and the website said they also had burgers, fries and hot dogs. Perfect, because we were hungry. We came in and the atmosphere is really cute. Green bar stools line a long counter. Colorful candy bowls and stacked shakes and malt glasses align the back wall. All the delicious possibilities! We sat down to decide what to order and were told that their menu was on the wall. It was a stark contrast to what is currently listed on the website. No hot foods at all. No grill items. They were not doing malts or shakes either. Only scoops and only in plastic cups. The guy told us they hadn't had any of those items since the storms hit them. Hmm. Ok, we decided to still get a couple scoops. The guy working there then yelled out to a very full parlor that they were also very short staffed. We are very used to small town/rural/national park/side of the road dining options so it wasn't really a big deal to us to wait. What bothered us was that a woman and her kids (who came in well after we did) sitting up at the bar stools took our order we had been waiting for, then told the very backed up workers she was still waiting for her orders. So they made out with a free one, made it seem like they weren't being serviced and then we had to ask again for our order. Some process improvements to the ticketing system probably would help the employees. The ice cream itself is just Blue Bunny brand so it tasted good but it wasn't anything super special like "old timey hand churned" like you'd expect for an ice cream parlor. The kids still enjoyed it. The workers were working hard but were obviously flustered. I didn't expect it to be busy either with so many people there but also, it doesn't help that people have to ask the workers for items they don't have because the advertising is incorrect. A big group of bikers were a little perturbed that they couldn't get hot coffee. If Oasis would help the people out here, it would be almost a mirage of an experience: nice cold ice cream at the hottest place on earth.

We went to the Ice Cream Parlor twice on our trip to Death Valley. We noticed that most of the reviews for restaurants in Furnace Creek were not great so we went in with low expectations but we were pleasantly surprised. We went in for a quick lunch and got some chicken tenders and fries which were great! We went in later that day for an ice cream cone as well. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. I love the decor and old timey feel. It is a really well done place.

Save your money and don't come here. Overpriced. The fries were cold and my so called "burger" came out with sandwich bread.

While in Ridgecrest, CA, I accidentally stumbled upon Dutch Bros Coffee and was super excited to try it finally. I immediately made a u-turn and made my way into the drive-thru. Their drive-thru entrance gave me Disneyland vibes. They had like 2 or 3 Drive-thru entrance lanes. The time we went, it wasn't crowded, but maybe they have their moments where it is. I went ahead and ordered one of their most popular drinks, Dutch Classic Caramelizer. Man, O, Man! It was so delicious; I swear I finished it on just a few sips, haha. It was excellent and different from other coffees I have had. I'm sad that there isn't one closer to me! The staff was friendly and they all had great attitudes and seemed happy, which made me happy and makes me want to come back. The drive thru and the whole area seemed clean and well maintained.
