We stopped by here on our way from Death Valley back to Las Vegas. We got some dried fruit, dried ginger, chili lime pistachios, and I jar of honey. Everything we purchased was good, though the pistachios were not as fresh as they could have been. The staffer was very kind and the whole operation is actually inside a small trailer. There was a good amount of people stopping to get items. They are just off a large road so there is quite a few people who decide to stop last minute so it can be a bit dangerous. read more

Miguel sells a variety of raw honey, beef jerkey, dried fruits and veggies, nuts, pickles, and cold beverages. You'll see his big truck and his storefront is a cute trailer. We can strictly for the honey and even got to sample our top 3 choices and ended up going home with Wildflower. Saw this on our way to Death Valley and decided to stop by on our way back. LOVE the honey and jerky here! We take the drive from Vegas, just to come to this place! We don't go to the store though, we go to the mobile market, which is just outside the main town of Pahrump, on the southeastern side. It's a large white trailer with a flag, which sits in large a dirt corner on the eastbound side of 160. Current winter hours are: Friday 11-4, Sat and Sun 0830-4. Obviously you can't fit an entire market into a large trailer, but the selection is still great. There are roughly 6 or so different kinds of homemade honey, including desert wildflower (my personal fave), orange blossom, clover, etc. You can sample just about all of them too, unless it's something limited or out of stock. The jerky...*drool*..'.oh, the jerky. I'm completely in love with the sweet and spicy version The gentleman there is always so kind, and still offers us samples even though he recognizes us...lol. read more

My family and I stopped in to purchase jerky and fresh honey. It's been almost seven years since we last visited. The place still looks much as it did back in 2012. Inside a small building we were greeted with a friendly hello from a young lady behind the counter. We perused the many bags of jerky and fresh honey lining the shelves and hanging on the display pegs. My son loves jerky and every since we stopped in nearly seven years ago when we discovered this hidden gem--he's wanted to return to buy more. My son chose the honey teriyaki beef jerky and I chose the orange blossom honey. We purchased two bags of jerky and one small jar of honey for $36.00. A little pricey from what I remember for an earlier visit but all right--you get what you pay for. During the course of three days on our trip to Reno/Sparks, we managed to eat most of the two bags of jerky. We will try the honey on biscuits. I can't wait! Miguel's is another one of those-must stops in Beatty, Nevada. It sits right off the main road, you really can't miss it. Give it a try, if you haven't already, you'll be glad you did. read more

Miguel Jr. is a top of the line entrepreneur and salesman! His family makes specialty foods here. He had just graduated from high school and already has set up a thriving barbershop! No less impressive is the selection of pickled veggies, jerky and olives. We tried the pickled asparagus, and the sweet and spicy jerky. Highly recommend both, as well as the "Cowboy Jerky"! Excellent! This is a little shop on Hwy 95 across from the Death Valley RV Park and inn. Our only regret is that we should have bought more! read more

If you ever plan to make the drive to Pahrump to do some wine tasting or get turnt up like Lamar at The Love Ranch, be sure to swing by Miguel's Country Store first! A country store it really isn't, but more like a trailer in a dirt lot off the side of the street right before you enter Pahrump. Four things are primarily sold here: Jerky - assorted flavors of beef, buffalo, and elk-soft, chewy, and the teriyaki is BOMB! Dried Fruit - all kinds to choose from, including dried cantaloupe Nuts-Savory and sweet varieties,great for snacking Local Honey-Assorted varieties, raw, not pasturized, and a very great value Samples are available for 99% of the things Miguel sells-except the Sage Blossom Honey, due to very small quantities produced. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Look for the signs on the side of the road, and slow down, because the Po-Po is also hiding out nearby to tag all the speed demons. ALOHA!!! Stopped in to see what they had as we were looking for snacks. A very nice young gentlemen greeted us and let us sample a couple of pieces of their jerky. The jerky was good, the beef was the best price: $8 each or 3 for $22. All jerky is homemade by the owners. And they do a great job. Even though we didn't sample the beef, we got 3 of them. The whiskey bbq, jalapeno garlic, and the cowboy (its their original). All three were great. My fav is the whiskey bbq. We also got some dried pineapple which was chewy and very flavorful. Its like natural candy. This market also has honey, olives, nuts, and cold beverages for sale. Which all looked great! After checking out, the young man even offered us a sample of what we bought just to make sure we were going to like it. We declined but was very appreciative of the offer. If you are driving through the area I recommend to stop by and get your jerky on. There are lots of flavors to choose from to appease everyone. read more

After coming off the trail from Chloride Cliffs, and while rebounding from the disappointment of the titty bar at the airport looking closed, I saw the sign for Miguel's so I absolutely HAD to pull over to drown my sorrows in sweet, salty and savoriy snacks. I don't know about the jerky BUT... they have outstanding dried fruit, nuts, pickles and olives of all sorts! Great healthy snacks for picnics or camping -- nice spot to get some goodies instead of going to a grocery store. You can get pickled asparagus, almond stuffed green olives (one of my favorites), dried cantaloupe (YUM!), honey from all over Southern California and loads of other goodies. It's a very tiny place and well worth the stop. read more

We pass thru Beatty both Southbound and Northbound when we travel from our home to Vegas, which is about 3-4 times a year. We never miss an opportunity to get some Jerky for the remainder of the trip South and if we haven't blown all our money in Vegas we buy some more on the way back North as well. The Jerky is always super fresh and the flavors are amazing. I haven't had a bad batch...ever. We always try new flavors we see and beware... if it says "hot" it is very hot. I love the olives stuffed with garlic and we enjoy the fresh honey when available. There is other Jerky sold in town but it doesn't compare to this family run operation. The care and quality shows and whomever is manning the store is always very polite and helpful. I can't wait to get some more read more

I've seen this place advertise its beef jerky as I drive to Las Vegas. I've been meaning to stop and I finally did. Total tourist trap and I want to advise others to avoid it. First off, on the signs leading into Beatty they advertise fresh beef jerky. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, but I thought it meant they make it themselves. Nope. They buy it out of state. I tried only one kind. It's $8 for 4 oounces. It's not that good. So this my attempt to warn others to stay away. read more

Lady inside was very friendly and offered samples of jerky, nuts and several different varieties of honey, here was even an echinacea variety. They also sold olives, no samples though. My friend an I purchased some honey and jerky and olives. I got 3 lbs of honey and it is very good stuff! We have stopped here a number of times over the years, since 2002, when driving through . Overall, it has some good jerky and honey, plus some dried fruit and nuts. Not everything is made here, some being bought in from elsewhere, but they do make some of their own things. I will say that some of their products, such as some of the jerky, seems to have changed a bit over the years. They seemed to have better, and more of their own, jerky, in the past, but still some of the jerky is good and the honey is great. Overall, this is a good place to stop in this area, since there's not much else around north of Las Vegas and it is a good place to get snacks and break up the drive. read more

We stopped into Miguel's little shop after leaving Death Valley, just out of curiosity. It had the feeling of a small family business and the person working was friendly and helpful, and offered us samples to try. We did not buy any jerky, but did buy olives, honey and salt-and-pepper pistachios. We were impressed with all of them! I love pistachios and these were so fresh and good; I enjoyed the bag the whole rest of our trip. No, prices here are not rock bottom, but they are not what we'd call expensive. They are reasonable for quality products. Next time we pass by we'll try the jerky and stock up on other things. read more

The 'Cowboy' jerky is hands down, the BEST jerky I've ever had..perfect in spice and chew...I bought one bag in Pahrump NV and chowed it down without stopping...almost addictive...and promptly bought 2 more in Beatty NV passing through. I should have bought 10 pounds....lol....great energy alternative for hikers etc. ...yeah....8 bucks for 4 ounces sounds pretty steep, but price check it to other people selling jerky and you'll find out it's better than average...plus you have to remember that this is meat that has been dried so it's real value is much higher than 4 ounces. read more

Stopped here for the first time and yes as others say its not as advertised as fresh jerky, it is shipped in and label slapped.. but the Chile Mango was pretty Darn good... havent had that before and i am a bit hooked on it. Stuffed olives were not bad we got the jalapeño stuffed olives and was quite happy.. they are really packed in the jar and you get a good amount,. The nuts were nothing special. Would i return sure.. it might be for tourists but what the heck it breaks up the long haul through Beatty and its a fun place to look around at all the foods. read more

Great little hole in the wall place - good jerky, very friendly!

This is my hubby's favorite place for beef jerky, but imagine our surprise when we showed up yesterday and found out that it's not the same jerky. We don't know if the original owner sold out, or they're trying to save money. The jerky is no longer made on site, but is bought out of California, shipped in and re-packaged with Miguel's own labels. The dried fruit isn't good and they decreased the amounts. I bought some stuffed olives as well, but they were so awful, I couldn't taste a difference between the feta cheese and the bleu cheese in the olives--both types of cheese tasted like a scouring pad. It's sad, because we used to stop at this place at buy jerky every time we travelled from Beatty or Tonopah to Las Vegas; I won't stop here again. read more

Stopped here in our way to Reno just to use the restroom. Imagine our surprise when the young lady offered samples of honey. I don't care for honey but the avocado honey tasted wonderful. I bought a small bottle and the ex purchased a large jar. On our way back to Vegas the ex had to stop again and purchased the large jar. The honey is light and flavorful. The jerky is very tough (buffalo). Recommend this shop for the honey and clean bathroom. read more

Stopped here the other day with a group of people who raved about this place. Bought my husband some teriyaki turkey jerky and he said it was absolutely disgusting. I tasted it and it was hard and tasted like it was covered in sugar. Would not recommend. It was $8 for 4 ounces of nasty jerky. read more

We were just there yesterday. The "blue cheese stuffed olives" were not stuffed with blue cheese. They were Feta stuffed. Loved them anyways, but pay attention to the labels!! Sadly, they aren't even packaged in Beatty, they are shipped out. read more

I have been buying this companies Raw Dessert Honey for over a year now. The Clover honey is the best, use it in my green tea every night. I have never found a better tasting honey on any level or market. I stop by on Highway 160 in Pahrump to buy my honey, he is there Friday thru Sunday (white roadside trailer flying the flag) and is very convenient for those of us that live in Pahrump, it is a pretty long drive to Beatty for honey...............Can't say enough about the quality of this product. read more
