Everyone who has driven through Death Valley knows about this place. The classic stop. Candy, ice cream, subway, jerky, toys, gas and bathrooms. It's got what you need more than likely, and a good final stop before getting into Vegas.

This must be everyone's first stop in Beatty, Nevada and it's certainly always ours. This is a great place to get off the lonely highway and make some new friends - my wife didn't waste any time getting to know the local burros that surely seem to outnumber the human population in this wonderful neck of the woods. Ok back to the gas station review: the gas is good and cheap, the staff are friendly and the food and gift options are abundant needed! The burros certainly complete the ambience and round out this place as a must-see spot in Beatty!

Candy, Ice-Cream, Gas... and hee-haws?? [Beatty NV] When we pulled in the gas station we were surprised to see three donkeys blocking Pump #1... whuttttt? Then it somehow found us staring at them and started to come up to our car... all three of them. Originally, the ice cream sign caught my eye but these donkeys were something else... Inside is not just a convenience store but a gift shop offering desserts to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth... it is a specialty shop where you can order breakfast sandwiches and other made-to-go items and get your hands on jerky, nuts, snacks like popcorn, dried fruits, wasabi peas, and more salty treats, and of course, ice cream and just about any type of candy you can dream up. We shared a banana split and for $7 it was a deal... it was good. Oh, they also sell stuffed donkey toys and other souvenir merch. I asked the young man at the cashier about the donkeys outside at the gas pumps... he said at one point there were like 30 of them roaming around the area. This is definitely a one-stop shop for gas, candy, ice cream... and donkeys, if you're lucky to find them there while passing through Beatty in Nevada. The cold treats were perfect for triple-digit weather. Review #3524

They have a nice selection snacks. They also have a subway inside and is a good option for quick eats since there is not a lot of restaurants around. They also have and extensive selection of jerky and ice cream that comes in handy on a very hot day. The cost is reasonable and they are also attached to a gas station which is also the only game in town. The staff that work there are also very friendly and nice to talk to. They get a lot of people that pass through there since it's one of the last stops going into Death Valley from the Las Vegas side.

Used to drive from Vegas to Reno once a month for many years. This was one of our must stops. Well, it's been a few years since I had to do this drive so I was excited to order a bunch of candy and a bunch of nuts. The quality of food here is amazing even though we are in the middle of nowhere. The prices are just a tad high. But I understand that because again they're in the middle of nowhere. There are restrooms here and a sandwich shop if you're just trying to grab some food and go.but the road trip snacks is why we stopped. I requested service to use the restroom and they directed me to the back of building. It was nice and cleaned in there.

Espresso machine from perhaps a hotel restaurant called The Sabre Room.

Near Death Valley and four miles east of Rhyolite, NV, the ghost town, this is an all purpose stop for gasoline, candy, coffee, breakfast and pastries, beef jerky, ice cream, cold drinks, Subway and the restrooms. Need a case of water for the desert trip? There are all kinds of knickknacks and snacks, and some souvenirs. This shop is pretty neat. It's a surprise in the desert. We liked it. Got Subway sandwiches for dinner and coffee to go. It's totally worth stopping.

Fill up with gas and then go inside!

Wow! Candy selection is huge!! Chocolate! Gummies! Nuts! Drinks - soda to beer! Stuffed animals! There is also an ice cream set up, custom jerky such as elk, buffalo etc. And a Subway with friendly staff. Friendly staff. I wanted a particular shirt but didn't see my size, manager walking by & I commented wishing they had my size. She went to back & brought exactly what I had wanted.

EddieWorld, or what I like to call...child paradise - an overload of CUTE! I would be hard pressed to bring my grandson and NOT get hounded to buy an abundance of TY toys & candy. I myself witnessed one child's mental breakdown over a bag of cotton candy. Thankfully, sans kids, my husband and I were able to shop at our leisure. This pit stop, after a whole lotta nothin', comes none too soon - just in time for a bathroom break, a tank of gas, some tasty treats & souvenirs for the Littles in your life. Our shopping bags were full of... - NV Post cards - Death Valley t-shirt & hat - 2 bottles of an unusual cream soda we'd never heard of - A bag of milk chocolate chunky "rocks" - Pez dispenser & refills - Cigarette gum ('cus I liked these as a kid. Hmm, maybe that's why I'm a smoker :/ Parents take note: don't buy these for your kids) - 1 TY bumble bee ball plushie - 1 mini donkey plush to commemorate the plethora of wild donkeys roaming Beatty, NV. - 1 Beatty, NV t-shirt with, of course, a donkey

Is It Eddie's World Or Death Valley Nut And Candy? My family will stop here during trips between Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. Stop for gas, run in use the restroom, maybe get a snack. Couple options for coffee, subs, beef jerky, or Souvenirs . Just be advised, prices can be a little on the high side. We'll return.

I always make sure to stop by whenever I go across state lines to get some one-of-a-kind candy or beef jerky.

I did my homework and I knew that this gas station inside Death Valley National Park, near the…read moreVisitor Center is more expensive. But we wanted to gas up a bit, for safety, so we stopped by. It is kinda small, cramped, harder to come in and out. But it's convenient and since distances are so big within the park, it's great to have it around, as a peace of mind. Paid with a credit card, no issues, convenient, onward to the next spot!

When I visit Death Valley I see two landmarks of extremes. The first is Badwater, which is the…read morelowest point in the Western Hemisphere. The second is the Furnace Creek Service Station Chevron sign which shows the highest point in gasoline prices in the Western Hemisphere. Normally $5.56 per gallon gasoline prices would raise somebody's temperature over and above the recorded 134 degree high in Death Valley. Here is an example of the extremity of their fuel prices. On March 28, 2013 The Tribune talked over San Luis Obispo County having the most expensive gas in California. Their average is $4.27 per gallon. That is over a $1 less than the price shown on the Furnace Creek Chevron sign. Fortunately we filled up in Pahrump, and laughed this off as a joke. The laugh factor of the high gasoline prices at Furnace Creek Service Station are the equivalent of the high calories at the Heart Attack Grill. They might as well promote it in souveneirs that say something like "I survived the highest gas prices." Normally I would reward highway robbery (my perception) with one star. There are a couple of reasons I am rating it two stars. Having a gas station in the noman's land that is Death Valley is the better option of no gas station. The gas price sign makes a good picture. In hindsight I could of stood in front of it for a temporary profile picture. I also like a joke. Some things are so obnoxious I take it as a joke. Whenever I return to Death Valley I will fill up the fuel tank in Pahrump, Nevada or Baker California. If I fill up the fuel tank in Death Valley, the joke will be on me.
