Eddie's must have been something else before it was Eddie's. LOL Beatty, is a beautiful little town in the middle of the Nevada desert. The folks are friendly and there's a little patch of green here. Looking at Eddie's Gas station, it looks like it could have been a Mobil, or maybe another independent. The building that houses the Subway and the Jed's Beef Jerky is brand new. Besides gas, you can stock up on any liquid beverage known to mankind here. But what's special is the collection of nuts and candy that you can purchase in packets. They have three rows that are at least thirty feet long to choose. Its incredible to find something this good in a place you wouldn't expect it. That's the beauty of taking the road less traveled! Whoever thought of it is a marketing genius. After a long day hiking in Death Valley, EddieWorld was the first gas station I encountered, so it was time to refuel. With such a bizarre sign, I had to walk in. You can buy tons of bulk candies and hideous tchotchkes here. It's like a flea market of oddities. Behold the juvenile signs for the restrooms. Ponder the mystery of mountain man Jed and his jerky. This place is located in the heart of Beaty Nevada and is definitely a "Must Stop" even if it's just to try the Ice Cream! The Ice cream shop is located inside the gas station, as soon as you walk in it's to your left, a small counter. Only bad side is that they do NOT take anything but cash! We absolutely LOVE stopping at EddieWorld on our way through Beatty. In fact, on this trip: we stopped on our way down to Vegas and then on our way back we stayed at the hotel that shares the same parking lot and shopped there that evening as well as twice the next day (the last time just for some amazing ice cream!). They have it all! chocolate covered nuts, dried fruits, specialty candies, amazing jerkies, a great selection of ice cream flavors, a Subway restaurant, gasoline, and pretty much anything else found at a large convenience store. The prices are actually really reasonable, except for the jerky prices, but it's supposed to be really good and worth it. Way too much for our budget, but others were buying several bags. The clerks are friendly and funny, they've got a HUGE selection of EVERYTHING and this was a staple stop of all of our childhood road trips with my mom. If you have to stop for gas in Beatty, this is the most modern and convenient place to stop. Just pull off the main highway next to the casino and Denny's. There's lots of pumps and they all take credit cards, in case you just wanna gas and go. Attached to the gas station inside there's food and candy as well as road snacks available. There is even a Subway sandwich shop inside. Everything is clean and modern as opposed to the other gas station options in this town. The prices are all about the same, maybe a few cents difference, but no big deal. If you need real food sit down restaurant, just go next door to the Denny's in the casino. read more

The ultimate rest stop! Eddie World has everything you never knew a rest stop needed-- fresh jerky, homemade ice cream, make-your-own pizza, poke, and the center-court section of the Lakers' court from the Forum... and signed memorabilia from Shaq and Kobe... The bathrooms are clean -- like seriously, Disneyland clean -- and everyone is super friendly. They even let us bring our dog inside (and he's no purse dog... he's our hefty 120 lb baby!) Oh-- and boys can practice their "aim" with interactive urinals that score your... ahem... accuracy. My only suggestion -- a shaded area for pets to pee! The ground gets HOT on a 110 degree day! If you have kids with you, don't plan on being "in and out" quickly... WAY too much to look at. Not a bad thing . We spent about an hour enjoying the AC, drinks (they have Tiger's Blood slushies!), the 80s rock, and the desert view. We'll definitely be back next time we head to Nevada!! read more

I have stopped here MANY times over the years, and have found this to be a great place to gas up. Gas is very reasonably priced (much cheaper than anywhere else around Death Valley), and the convenience store is very well stocked with all kinds of food, snacks, candy, ice cream and a Subway sandwich shop. BEST OF ALL, and totally warranting my lifelong support, is that they only charge 25 cents to refill your travel coffee mug! When's the last time you saw anything like THAT?! My husband and I went to Vegas and on the way back home I wanted ice cream so we stopped at your location when we walked in, we liked what we saw The assortment of snacks yum. We then decided d idnt want ice cream after all we were going to choose a couple different snacks for the rise home. But the variety of snack sizes on the pistachios and dried friut were non existing, maybe have smaller bags this way as were eating them on our drive home only to realize they missed advertised the "tequila" pistachios and they were stale as well. After paying close to $10.00 Very disappointed. I must say the guacamole bites and sundries pears were good. Also have either tasting booties for some of you popular items. It was okay...lots of candies and nuts and a few other things in the building. The candy and nuts are very expensive and the average bag will set you back about $10.00. We got some glazed pecans with cinnamon and they were great..even though they were $12.49 a pound. We also got a block of what was called peanut butter fudge. It was so nasty and tasted just like WAX that we had to throw it away. It had no peanut butter flavor at all and the waxie taste stayed on your teeth for some time. Would not try any more of the fudge. Do not know if they make it our import it but it was nasty. read more
