Where do I start? We checked in around 5:30pm. It was 106 degrees when we checked in. The woman behind the desk let me know she turned the air conditioning wall unit on 20 minutes ago. It NEVER got really cool and we ran the air conditioner on high/auto and set it for 75. It never got to that temp to shut off. So hot all night. Someone else said that this happens all the time and people complain. The lock/key to get us in the room did not work very well. The lady at check-in said it can be a "little" tricky. I had to try about 6-7 times to get in. Fix it! We had our dog and the room was dog friendly. However, there is really no place to walk them without walking through trash and waste in back of the hotel. Where is the pride in this town? We had stayed here before but t has gone down hill fast. No place to walk and eat. Eddie's World breakfast was greasy and slow. They do have an old Denny's in the casino. The bed was comfortable. TV was small and picture was blurry on almost every channel. Motel 6 is next door. Rooms are cleaner but super small. read more

Kinda what you would expect for a small town casino hotel. The good-- Ample parking. Gas station, convenience store, candy store. Old school cigarette machine, whoa! 24 hour bar, because its a casino. $6 Titos sodas. Denny's onsite. (Double check their hours!) Beautiful location. The not so good-- Checking in kinda sucked. Arrived at 6pm and the door to the front desk was locked, with a sign that said "be back soon". Went to the bar to check with an employee about what "soon" meant. 20 mins later the desk agent returned. What I can't stand-- When she checked me in, she said my room number out loud THREE times... I am a solo female traveler. And there were men in line behind me waiting to check in. Now, they ALL know which room I'm in. It was unprofessional and unsafe. Lol-- I'd stay here again. read more

It had a good and large refrigerator. Kept our stuff cold. The night cage person was Super sweet. Even carried our luggage to the new room after some strange guy rushed my daughter as she was returning to the room from the car. Then, he tried to get in through our ground floor window. Nearest law enforcement was an hour away. We did get a good nights sleep--eventually. The stale smoke from the casino permeated much of the establishment, but didn't get so far as our second room. Would I recommend this motel? Nope. Sorry. The refrigerator and the night staff couldn't compensate for the creeper, the non latching window and the otherwise indifferent staff. read more

Unfortunately it's not enough, as I still found the malodor repugnant. Non-likes: - Stickin' heck. I stayed with my husband on 5/03/26. The next morning, I took a fall when I was bringing my ice chest down to my car. We stayed in the handicap room, but the walkway going down to the pavement was raised & I lost my footing & fail down & broke my wrist. I am now in a cast for another 4 weeks, but I will mend. I wanted to give a shout out to the kind people that came to my aid & helped me. I only know her first name, Sue. she & her husband, along with many others that helped & also put everything in my car that was in the room I was staying. This review is only about the casino. I felt like I walked into an ashtray. Absolutely putrid smell as soon as you walk through the doors into the casino. Which was shocking as the doors to Denny's was right there as well. Only stayed about 30 minutes as the smell was unbearable. I drove out to Beatty for a quiet and peaceful out of the way place to get away. I definitely found that here. This is the only Casino in Beatty for those who wonder about those type of facts. Check in was fair, the ladies behind the desk were courteous enough. I'm guessing they don't have any type of modern system that tells them when a room is clean because when handing my keys over they suggested if my room wasn't clean yet to simply check back later. Room was ready though so thumbs up for that. Speaking of the room.... the first thing you notice when you walk in is that it smells clean. At some point these rooms got a facelift because they look a little better than i expected for an out of the way joint like this. A couple of little gripes though- the new and modern phone they had in the room doesn't dial...anything. No local calls, no extensions to reach an employee...nothing. just got error messages that said "no response". If you need towels guess you'll have to find somebody. The second thing was that there was some banner that floated around the TV that we couldn't get rid of. They had a nice little pool area with a hot tub (that wasnt so hot). There are little circular seeds that fall off the trees and all over the pool area... looks like they haven't been swept in a couple days. Looks like they also have a grill out in the pool which is cool too, but also looks not to have been cleaned in some time. Casino was small but had table games, slots and a bar. The bar was ok, a little hot as if they had the heat on. I also noticed a couple of employees taking their breaks in the seating area at the back of the bar. Bar service was fair at best no Smiles no small talk. Seems like you're on your own here.... not many employees around to deal with and they truly leave you to your own devices which is what you want if you drive all the way out here right? I actually do like this place it's a great place to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet in an old Nevada town. read more

I just got back from a week's stay here at the Stagecoach, and I have to say it was a pretty cool time. We had a small hiccup on our first night: The room we were assigned was on a wing that had a number of really inconsiderate guests, making a ton of noise and slamming doors all throughout the evening. Fortunately I caught the hotel front desk before they took off for the night, and before I even had a chance to fully explain the situation, they had us reassigned to another wing where we were the only guests. A nice upgrade in ambience, and the rest of the week was problem free and very quiet. The amenities here were actually a little surprising: The casino area was actually pretty cool, even if i'm not a huge gambler, they had a pretty good representation of the popular slots, and also had some live poker and other card games. Unlike a typical Vegas scene, the casinos here are a lot more manageable. Wait staff was great and friendly. The room was a pretty good size, and very well maintained. We had regular housekeeping so everything was real tidy all the time. The beds were clean and nice, and the heat/AC worked great. The onsite Denny's was a nice amenity. The week we were there, some of the establishments in Beatty were closed or having holiday hours, so it got tough to find places to eat and Denny's filled this purpose nicely. Besides that, the parking lot is shared with a gas station and minimart/ice cream parlor with a Subway sandwich inside. Really convenient and nicely maintained. The next time I am visiting Death Valley or Beatty, this place will probably be my choice to stay. read more

Beatty & the Stagecoach Hotel and Casino was our choice for our recent visit to Death Valley, it was convenient with cost, location and food options after a longgg hiking day. Booking our king-sized room online was easy with us being familiar with the area, knowing that we would be close to Death Valley Nut & Candy Co. and gas station. Checking in was simple with staff friendly and helpful including recommending a GREAT restaurant for our first night there (Beatty VFW - a MUST). Our king-size room included FREE Wi-Fi that was fast and worked the entire time we stayed, Flat Screen TV (w/cable), mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer andd the best part water pressure and temperature were AMAZING with NO drain problems - this is a huge deal for us when traveling. Added bonus we slept veryyy well in the comfortable king-size bed which was wonderful after hiking, sightseeing and golf in Death Valley andd temperature of the room was PERFECT! Overall inexpensive room with good amenities, convenient location and friendly staff. read more

the room was clean and nice had no problems until we were leaving. late check out is 1 pm. we had some blonde lady waiting with a maid by our door rushing us out if the room at 12:50 due b/c it was reserved for the night. we asked for a few moments while we were loading up our stuff. we have a 5 year old and a newborn. so anybody with kids knows it takes a few moments longer to do anything. she literally stood at the door complaining that it was 1 o'clock already when mam it was 12:50. if I could rate that employee a 0 I would. that was horrible customer service and our family will never stay there again. hopefully in the future that employee can have some common curtesy when it comes to future guests especially families with small children. read more

We have stayed at this hotel for years and we love it even more every time. We are the type that would much rather stay somewhere like Beatty than to be right in the middle of things in places like Las Vegas. This recent road trip was for a business trip for my hubby where he had a day of meetings in Vegas. He went into Vegas for the day and I just hung out around the hotel and Eddy's World (which is literally across the parking lot) for the day. We got to enjoy Beatty together the night before and the day after. Room 127 was our room this time and it was my favorite so far. The bed was very comfortable and the room was rather roomy. I also loved the fact that it was just a short walk from the pool area without being right up against it. It was also close to the nature back behind the hotel. Went on a road trip with my dad and this was one of our stops for the night. I wasn't sure what to expect as it is a small town in Nevada, but this place was really nice. The rooms were recently done so the room was very nice and modern. There is a small casino in the building and a Dennys. Donkeys all over town and right next door to a gas station (Nevadas largest candy and nut store). I have high standards and I recommend this place. Def will go back one day. read more

Because of my job, I frequently stay in hotels throughout Southern California and occasionally in Nevada. Quite often, the trips are unplanned and require a last minute reservation. As such, I believe I can fairly rate the quality of most hotels while taking into consideration their location. This is why I say many of the low ratings for this hotel are not justified. It is obvious they are from pampered guests that expect Beverly Hills amenities while staying in the desert. That's just not going to happen. For a hotel located in the sparsely populated desert, with limited resources, the Stagecoach is very impressive. The rooms are clean and very well maintained, with everything needed for a good night stay. Anyone with a complaint about this hotel should go back to Los Angeles and stay where their amenities are readily available. I would stay here again in a heartbeat read more

My wife and I stayed at the Stagecoach recently after several days of camping. At the end of a hot day under a desert sun and a stress-inducing near head on, all we wanted was the calm of a rippling blue pool- the primary deciding factor in our choice of the Stagecoach. But first, you must swim through the thick haze of a thousand smoking truckers to find the front desk, located in a little glassed room behind a caged door on the casino floor. If you make it this far, you may suddenly doubt your decision. Hold tight and stick with it. Climate-controlled reward awaits on the other side. We got a ground-floor room just on the other side of the casino entrance. With the whole place feeling like the cavernous depths of a chain-smoker's chest, our non-smoking room was miraculously free of stale smoke? Furthermore, the room and bathroom were impeccably clean, modern, and comfortable. Nothing extravagant, but perfectly acceptable! The pool area on the other hand could use a few updates. The furniture is damn near threadbare and there's not enough of it- at least not when a group of aviator-wearing, big-bellied, Miller drinking Germans singing aloud to Bavarian folk songs has taken over. (Yes, this really was the scene at the pool!! Nothing short of amazing!!!) Oh, and don't be afraid of the pool floaties. That's just debris from the towering palms overhead, or at least that's what I choose to believe. The only areas where the Stagecoach doesn't score too high are as follows. Being near the casino entrance, there was foot traffic by our door all night. The disturbance was further heightened by the fact that our door's deadbolt wouldn't lock. Lastly, and as much as I hate to mention it but feel compelled to write honestly, it would appear to my keen observations that there's some sketchy shit going on in some of the rooms. Not enough to feel threatened as much as on high alert. Truthfully though, my observations are only speculative and may be completely off base. What is certain is that whatever you think you may be witnessing is nothing a jolly band of belting Germans can't redirect your attention away from. read more

I was in a total bind. We were driving back from Las Vegas heading back to Sparks when my front tire blew. I had no spare was 10 miles from Beatty and had no cell service. I had to hobble back in order to get service. One of the calls was to Stagecoach. I explained our situation and was praying they had a room. They were able to accommodate us. After we all got to the room we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious and quite nice with the best smelling lotions. The rate was the best. I paid more at Excalibur. While we waited for the tire to be fixed they didn't charge us for checking out late and the Dennys on site was very good. So we usually stop at the nut and candy store when we come through but now I have another reason to stop read more

This review is for smoke-free Rita's Cafe in the rear of the Stagecoach Hotel & Casino in Beatty, Nevada. It is a good meal stop between Las Vegas and Reno by car. Ambiance here is Old West, with hard-wrapped cushioned booths with black granite table tops harmonizing nicely with mostly earth tones. The dining room was bright and cheerful, even though there are no windows to peer out of. Fellow Yelpers were right about the excellent Patty Melt served here: 1/2 pound of broiled hamburger with well-melted Swiss Cheese and grilled onions served on lightly grilled rye bread. Ordered medium rare, the sandwich arrived medium rare to medium, but it was very juicy and delicious. The weeping onions inside probably contributed to this. I appreciated Heinz Tomato Ketchup and Yellow Mustard already on the table to give the meat an extra kick. Dill pickle chips were also served on the side, which I liberally added between the two slices of bread. Excellent cold, homemade, egg-based Potato Salad with pieces of celery mixed in added a refreshing counterpoint to the warm Patty Melt. A cup of Navy Bean Soup was ordered first, but my server completely forgot about it. When I reminded him as he delivered the Patty Melt, a quick recovery was made, and the smoking soup was set before me in about 3 minutes. Although the hot soup broth looked thin, it became denser when stirred at the bottom, and was quite tasty with cooked celery and numerous small beans heaped on spoonfuls of it. An inquiry about wanting a Sprite refill occurred on the brink of being too late, since my glass had been empty for awhile. But at least the waiter did ask, and a refill was quickly provided. I sampled Diane's Beef Dip with Au Jus on a very soft roll, and all parts were very tasty. Besides the food being of superior quality, prices were very reasonable, too: just under $24 for two sit-down lunches. read more

I got into town late after crossing Death Valley, having narrowly avoided one of the wild donkeys that roam around this part of Nevada, particularly at night, and managed to get the last room available in the Stagecoach Hotel and Casino. It was a smoking room, because for whatever reason gamblers do seem to love to smoke while they sit there in front of their gambling machines, but as it was the last available and I was in no mood to go looking elsewhere in town, I settled for it. To my surprise the room wasn't bad at all! I couldn't detect any smoke smell in the room, and everything looked fine inside. I was placed on the second floor in the casino section of the hotel, which has an interesting old staircase to climb to get to it. Wifi worked fine in the room as well, and as I was not in the mood to go travelling through town to find a place to eat that night, the in-house Denny's is handy. If I were in the same situation as before, I would certainly not pass up this hotel as it did the job I needed... gave me a place to rest my head over night that was clean and had no issues. read more

I was extremely disappointed with this hotel. I am shocked it gets so many decent reviews on Yelp. The front office was closed, and I had to walk back to the casino cage to check in. There's a Denny's restaurant in that part of the casino, too. The air was so thick with smoke that we were walking through a haze. That's not an exaggeration...we could literally see a thick, white haze in the air. We had to cover our noses and mouths to breathe, and my hair and clothes stunk afterwards. It was completely gross, but that's not the reason for the 1 star review. I was willing to overlook that. After all, it is a casino. Although the air quality in there was shocking...even for a casino. It's the smokiest place I've ever been. The 1 star review is for the room. At first glance, I thought it would be okay. But upon closer inspection, there were so many problems. First of all, there was no shower curtain. I have never stayed in a hotel where there was no shower curtain. Did hotel staff not notice this one crucial missing item?? It was impossible to take a shower without flooding the bathroom. Ours was a nonsmoking room, yet the comforter had a cigarette burn hole in it. It was very noticeable, right on the top. This comforter should have been moved to a smoking room. There were also yellow stains on the comforter, which were disgusting. The door had enormous gaps around the edges, which explains all the bugs in the room. I killed several bugs before going to bed. There were various bugs...gnat like things to larger flying bugs. Some were in the bed. One of the bugs was a live carpet beetle, which I found in the bed. That's disturbing because carpet beetles will hitch a ride in your luggage/clothes and infest your home. Also, there is no "do not disturb" sign. The housekeepers will knock on your door and wake you up to see if you have vacated your room. We wanted to eat breakfast at Denny's, but didn't feel like wading through the smoke to get to the restaurant. So we skipped that. We felt gross and slept horribly. We got up early and got out of there. If I would've known how gross the room would be, I would have stayed in Tonopah instead of driving to Beatty. There are several clean hotels in Tonopah. read more

I could have been shot. No other room avaliable and Staff did not bother to investigate who was using room 224. They didn't care or maybe a friend or other employee gave room for free? Second place I've stayed at in Beatty. With only a limited amount of hotels and a population of a 1000 people, obviously each hotel is gonna have it's distinct character because they are each competing for those staying overnight and passing through. This is the only hotel I've seen attached to a casino, which is fairly small but just right for the area. I did not play in the casino because I was actually working the entire time I was in this town and didn't have a lot of free time but I would probably play if I did have more time. The room itself is smaller than the other place I stayed in so if you are looking for space, I would not choose this hotel but I'm not looking for space, per se, so it didn't really bother me. It did seem a little bit better maintained and had a more modern feel than the other hotel although the air conditioner at the other hotel stood out to me from it's extreme chilling capacity. I mean, that ice cold air in that hotel was heaven to come back to on those hot and balmy summer days. This place has cold air and adequately chilled the room so that also was not really a problem. The differences are actually very small between the two places I've stayed here in Beatty but just in case, I'm trying to be extra picky for a review purposes. But, honestly you don't come to Beatty for the hotel, you come to Beatty for Beatty. If you are checking this review to help choose what hotel to pick then you probably shouldn't be visiting Beatty. The hotels are currently a shower, bed, and parking. That's it. Suck it up and book a room. Stop being cheap. Reviewing hotels in Beatty to me, is like reviewing fast food on Yelp. What do you really expect? There's really not a whole lot of differences that the billions of people served at McDonald's aren't going to already know so do you really think your description of how the fries were soggy is going to make others not choose McDonald's?? I occasionally use Yelp to choose a place to eat or shop to use but if you are seriously checking yelp before eating at McDonald's then you should get a refund on your life because you don't know how to use it. read more

I was passing through Beaty and was done driving so I decided to try this hotel. I saw some reviews that were not the best, but I was too tired to care. I checked in and the employee was nice. I went to the room #101 off the casino floor) and was very surprised. It had obviously been renovated recently with fresh paint, crown molding, new furniture, and new tile in the bathroom. It was decent size with a fridge and microwave and coffee maker in the bathroom. Besides the handy work station there were six USB ports in the room. The bed was very comfortable and I was extremely pleased. I had some cocktails at the bar and the employees were quite friendly. The restaurant inside is a Denny's and it is typical Denny's - good but nothing special. The downside - The casino is quite smokey so be ready for that. Overall, an excellent experience. read more

I've stayed here twice, about two years apart. I think this is a pretty decent place to stay the night after visiting Death Valley or en route somewhere. The rooms are a bit basic, but clean and comfortable. The casino is a decent size, and there's one particular slot machine that has been nice to me on both my visits (I won't tell you which one). Rita's Cafe is open 24 hours and has a pretty good menu. The pool and the hot tub are enjoyable after a day of exploring the desert. There is apparently a movie theater next to the casino cashier that never gets used, so that's the one potential amenity that is lacking I suppose. The gas station next to the hotel is owned by the same company. I thought it was a nice touch that they have water and air pumps at every island. read more

It's a small hotel and casino but it's the best in town and the food isn't to bad. The room was clean and older and found a good price online. It's a good place to stay or stop if your exploring Death Valley. Also across the parking lot is a store that has gas and a huge assortment of nuts am candy. On the way here we almost ran over some dude's head. 3:00am, dude was lying in the shoulder, with his head in the road about 10 miles away from the junction of 95 @ 266. Starring in our own personal B movie, we both say, in unison: "That. was. a. body." Following was a stop in the parking lot of the Cottontail Ranch, 911 calls, going back, scariness, blah, blah, blah. When we got to the Stagecoach, we were hella on edge. It's out in the middle of nowhere and a good place to stay if you're checking out Death Valley. Everyone was pretty friendly & the rooms were very clean. We had a fridge in ours and that was really helpful because we weren't totally digging the on-site diner, although it's an option if you like grease (and sometimes we do!!!) The motel has a pool, huge parking lot & we just brought our own wine and sat with our feet in the pool one night after spending the day looking at rocks and pupfish. However, as always on road trips (and probably more so with this trip) I felt a little sketched out by our ground level motel room. I've seen too many scary movies, too active an imagination & then there was that whole experience almost running that man over on the way. That's not the Stagecoach's fault though! This is THE place to stay while exploring DV. I give it 5 stars for that, although it's not a 5 star resort, luxe setting... Does that make sense? read more

I swear my fried chicken dinner at the hotel here was from KFC, it tasted just like it!!! Food was eatable at the restaurant and a very great place to go after exploring all day in the desert! Beatty, NV is just the cutest, most fun little western town filled with character. This town looks like it has been built on the side of a mountain on desert land and I loved it here!!!! The casino is a good size with tons of fun slot machines, and very friendly employees. One complaint, some of the gambling tables were closed. I loved playing the blackjack machines, the little arcade was cute, the cashier behind the counter was so nice, and the bathroom was beautiful! It was like going into a mine! This was so much fun and such a decent place for dinner and some gambling after a long strenuous day in Death Valley! It's also so close to Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells on an easy going drive! This was a great find! There is also no pretentiousness and no fanciness like in Las Vegas casinos! read more

Definitely coming back!!! Not a very big casino, but it has a bar, poker tables, a restaurant, a pool, and a hot tub. The hotel rooms are a good size and not too far from the casino or the candy shop next door. About an hour and a half to get to Las Vegas. There is a lot of history around this area and that is what we are interesting in going back to go check out (besides the gambling)!!! The price is pretty decent and for the one night that we stayed it was really cheap. There's not much else to say, but I do know that my husband enjoyed it and we have already talked about going back! read more

I was underwhelmed with the entire town of Beatty, NV. We used this town as a night's rest between two days visiting Death Valley (since Furnace Creek Ranch and Stovepipe wells were already booked). So we were not here to gamble, and would have appreciated a few more amenities from the town as well as the hotel. There is no selection of restaurants, no markets, no good coffee in Beatty -- there is simply very little here. The Stagecoach Hotel is a "highlight," but that is not saying much. In all fairness, we stayed in the "old part" of the hotel, where the rooms open to an interior hallway. (The new part of the hotel where rooms overlook a swimming pool was all booked up several weeks in advance on a spring Friday night.) So my review is based only on our room. The outside of the hotel looks fine -- large parking lot, and gas station next door. There's a candy shop with a Subway restaurant counter inside next door to the gas station. That's about the extent of the visitor services in town. The hotel check-in was at the cashier's booth of the casino. We walked through the casino trying to catch our breath from all of the smoke. So we were not going to go back through the casino to even try the Stagecoach restaurant. Our room was old and plain. It was lit by dim light, since there were light bulbs burnt out. The bathroom was dinky, with no sink counter to set out your stuff. The plumbing had been incorrectly installed in the one-piece plastic shower-tub, which could produce leaks under the tub. There was dirt in the corners of the bathroom floor. No decor on the walls -- just off white. We were holding our breaths when walking through the inside hallways because they smelled so bad -- they are thick with cigarette smoke even though we had a non-smoking room. Perhaps we are just spoiled Californians who enjoy clean air inside of buildings. But at least our room or the bed did not smell like smoke. There were two other decent looking hotels in this town, and in retrospect I should have tried the Motel 6, since it was newer. We won't be back to the town of Beatty, so we won't be staying here again. read more

The Stagecoach is the kind of the hotel you would see in a porno or a cheap-ass film produced in the 1980's. It's cheap, gritty, and dusty. My room had this odd smell and the carpet was poorly maintained. At the entrance the carpet was peeling and wires were sticking and I got poked a few times. What saved this from a one star was the bar and restaurant. Given my low expectations and hunger, anything to eat and drink would have satisfied me. I got a Nevada style fried chicken (whatever that means) and a beer. It was good and cheap. The bar lady was pretty cool, too. Totally knowledgeable and nice. Would I stay there again? Probably not, but it's probably the best option in Beatty, NV. read more
