Fast-forward to today, and it has been reduced to a Gen Z crowd that only does line dancing and country swing. I came here last month, on a Saturday, and enjoyed everything except the absence of two-step. I came here last night, on a Friday, and it was a watered-down turnout, by comparison. Most of the line dances were newer ones that I didn't recognize. So many are danced to pop rather than country music. It was akin to watching a Little League baseball game. When measured against country dancehalls in Texas, this place doesn't qualify as a true honky-tonk, because it is missing the hallmark feature of progressive partner-dancing (two-step, three-step, cowboy cha-cha). It may never return to the previous era where two-step and country swing coexisted on the dance floor. To me, it's a dumbing down of country dancing.

Our favorite punk band, The Mormons, happened to be playing here which is what drew us in. Loved the atmosphere with dollar bills and some R rated photo strips hanging around the bar area along with various stickers & graffiti filling the rest of the space. Truly feels like a quintessential Vegas dive bar. Bartenders weren't overly friendly, just there to do their job, but they served beers / cocktails quickly. We had a few PBR's which were $5 each. Fellow patrons were really friendly. I even made a friend during the show! For anyone with sensitive ears, the speakers are LOUD, so be sure to bring your ear protection. I loved the loud music, but my husband was suffering a bit. As per a usual dive bar, it is also smoky inside. If cigarette smoke bothers you, snag a spot near the entrance since they leave the door open for fresh air. This was everything I expected from a dive bar with a small stage for cool bands. The food came out fresh, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations. What really made our visit memorable was our waitress, Carleen. She was incredibly hospitable, sweet, funny, and attentive throughout our meal. Her personality and excellent service were a great addition to the already fantastic atmosphere. To top it all off, there was live music playing, which created the perfect Vegas vibe and made the experience even more enjoyable.
