Here is a copy of the receipt where we were charged for them to open a couple of bottles of wine. I only had 2 glasses, 1 large and 1 small. So for each glass they charged me $2.00. Now, I have been in many bars and worked in several, never has a bartender charged to open a bottle!! Here is a copy of the receipt!!

If it wasn't for the trip to one of the hottest places in the world - none other than Death Valley National Park - I wouldn't have discovered this quaint dessert town of Pahrump; and this town is unincorporated, too. It's a good distance from the Sin City (one hour to the west); it's also a good distance from Death Valley (one hour to the east.) One of the things that this town can boast about is this cute wine place where you can grab a glass of tap wine and some small plates. This was so me-ish place so we picked this place to celebrate my birthday just last week. We were warmly welcomed by one of the ladies upon arrival. Although unassuming on the outside, it's a good-size restaurant. The bar area is spacious where some solo diners can sit with ease. The Wednesday night we dined in, there appeared to be some regulars sipping their favorite wines or cocktails (or even beers.) We grabbed one of the high-top tables to the right. The A/C was a bit strong where we got cold a bit but this appeared necessary to regulate the temperature throughout; you never know how warm an indoor facility like this can get quickly due to the dessert temperatures that can go near 90 degrees on any given day in the spring time. We understood. What caught my attention was the wines on tap. There are/were 6 of them. Our kind server gave me a little sample of Hayes Valley Meritage to taste to see if it would suit my palate. And it sure did! Actually, I was immediately impressed with it so I asked for a full 9oz glass. There is/was a good selection of small plates to savor as well. We went with Mezze Plate (slices of fresh cucumber, olives, earthy tasting hummus (tasted so organic with low amount of sodium), marinated cherry tomatoes, red pepper and feta cheese) is/was a good portion that can be shared between 2-3 people easily (this plate comes with pita bread pieces.) The mozzarella cheese and cherry tomato skewers with fresh basil leaves were absolutely beautiful on the rectangular plate and tasted amazing as well. Soup of the Day was broccoli cheddar that was accompanied by crunchy croutons on the side. If I asked for something better than this, I would forever be the world's number one complainer (lol)!! Once we devoured our foods, we, of course, concluded our fantastic dinner by ordering a dessert. We got the Chocolate Mouse cake (ugh, I wish I took a picture of the food menu; I completely spaced! I don't remember the exact name of this dessert.) This was a good size which can be shared between 2 people (if you only need a few to several bites.) It wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed; it nicely enhanced the whole bday dinner occasion to conclude the much-needed relaxing dine-out experience. The Wine Down is Pahrump's proud and joy. If you end up Airbnb'ing in this unincorporated dessert town for your next Death Valley trip, dine here at The Wine Down. You will not be disappointed.

I couldn't resist taking a few bites before snapping a picture of the amazing tri-tip sandwich.

What a gem in Pahrump!! Tucked into the Albertsons shopping center is this wonderful bar and bistro. Big smiles from all the staff greet you as you enter this tastefully decorated establishment. Lots of wine to choose from of course, but also beers on tap and a full bar to handle whatever libations you're in the mood for. I visited at lunchtime so I only sampled the food, but wow!! I had the tri-tip sandwich with fries and it was one of the best I've ever had. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying their visit and the staff made a point to keep checking on everyone. I was only visiting the area, but I could see this being a regular hangout if I was a resident. If I'm lucky enough to visit the area again I will definitely return to The Wine Down!!

Found this intimate and chill wine bar in the Albertson's shopping center! The decor is relaxing and they have a light food menu to pair with your favorite wine. One of the owners, Jennifer welcomed us in and gave us a menu. They have wines on tap! They have a wide variety of wines and prices to fit most budgets, so lower end wines to high end wines. She said they have fun events, like painting on growlers, & live music and we can find information about happenings on their website. I chose a flight of sweet wines and paired it with bruschetta and some parmesan truffle fries. The bruschetta was fully loaded & so good! The fries came with a dipping sauce that was very unique and slightly tart. There is a giant TV behind the bar which sequenced through tranquil vacation scenes. FYI: sporting events are not shown here. You will have to stop by and experience this place while you are in Pahrump!

    My literal passport...

I'm mind blown...I usually love wine bars, and I was super excited to sit down and have a glass after being at the DMV all day, I sit down and the lady asks for my id, so I give her my passport (thinking it will be easier since my id is about to expire and I already had my passport on me) after 5 minutes she told me she couldn't serve me...at first I thought she was joking, I kindly Told her I'm 26, a bartender as well, and I'm coming from the dmv, she said "I've never had to look at a passport for ID before" whoever hired this lady, please reconsider your hiring process...after she finally accepted it I told her it was okay and I just left.

We had a long day checking out Ash Meadows. We rolled into Pahrump and found this fantastic gem of a place! They offer great wines (even on tap), beer on tap, full bar, wine tastings, and slushy. Super warm and welcoming staff, charcuterie board food, and atmosphere. They were kind enough to place GF crackers and regular crackers on separate plates. This place hit the spot. We will definitely be back.

I have gone here twice in 2025. Most recently I ordered a supreme pizza on a cauliflower crust and it was excellent. My wife ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it was also very good. We both had a side salad with Italian dressing that was quite good. Our server, Dana was right on the ball, making helpful suggestions and she was also very pleasant. My wife and I are what you might call more mature than most. That being the case, our backsides often become stiff after sitting through a meal. As we were leaving my wife and I both remarked how comfy our booth was. We were both pleasantly surprised by how plush our seats were. All in all we were quite pleased by our experience. Now, if you are expecting a brewery you might be disappointed. But if you just want a good meal, give them a try.

We'd heard from the locals, The Hubb is some of the best food in town and is a popular watering hole for the younger (under 70) crowd. The lady who served us for lunch was rude and seemed bothered we came in. Eventually she brought us our drinks and gave us a heavy sigh as she explained she didn't know why the restaurant was even open for lunch because she had too much to do to prepare for the evening shift. A second older woman brought our meal out (Taco Tuesday special) and tossed it onto our table without saying a word. The ground beef Caucasian tacos were over seasoned but generally edible. The service was absolute trash. My tip was reflective of that. If you have to visit Pahrump, bring your own food and cook at home, in your Air BNB.

Upon setting foot, you are easily transported into a newfound universe, a reimagined Victorian Era, should it be powered by steam rather than electricity. A sense of mischief within every corner, down to the cocaine chambers, which explicitly discourages patrons from summoning demons. Should malevolent entities roam the streets of Sin City, I have nothing to do with such necromancy. Beyond the aesthetic, the service elevated all else. Amanda, our bartender, was effortlessly charming, sweet, welcoming, and knowledgeable in a sense that every recommendation she had for us felt as though it were a present rather than a suggestion. I jokingly told my mates that every time she checked on our table, I felt as if I shed new skin as her amiable, warm presence baptized me. As if she had not graced us enough, she surprised us with a tofu cheesecake layered with raspberries and strawberry sauce, alongside extra beverages. All of which were indulgent, balanced, and quite the delicacy. The general manager, Will, was holstered with identical cordiality as he checked on us in a sincere manner and even offered us their house-made taco sauce. 'twas a minuscule gesture that highlighted our vegan tacos as it was a supplemental, bright-nuanced depth to an already astute dish. Chef Kario's taco flight read as though 'twas a Pulitzer Prize-winning culinary narrative. The jackfruit barbacoa had a smoky, yet sweet profile. The mushroom with brown mole had an earthy heat. The cabbage with notes of pumpkin (?) was bright, textural, and slightly nutty. Each piece was grounded by their house-made tortillas that were tender, slightly charred, and essential to tying everything together. Furthermore, the drinks deserve their own reverence. Why be present at Sin City shows when liquid entertainment lies before you at The Alchemist? Fountains of Bellagio, take notes. Anyhow, the Matcha Tonic was theatrically poured from a teapot that I forgot I was drinking alcohol considering I casually sipped my beverage as if 'twas an afternoon tea. Perhaps, I am an alcoholic? Do not tell my sponsor.. I mean...mother (?). I digress, the coconut water's sweetness and citrus notes married well with the matcha's savory backbone. Every sip is an invitation to reflect. Moreover, the Lychee Bloom's expressive smoke bubble erupts into a transient aromatic veil and I am promptly magnetized. The lychee conducts with a lavish, fragrant profile whilst the roses offer a floral composure. I relish in a multi-dimensional vibrancy. Where the matcha tonic contemplates, the lychee bloom bewitches. Where there are elixirs, lavatories to conjure up spirits, and AMANDA, I, too, am present.

Our bartender/server was very sweet and let us sample one of the drinks before ordering which I thought was pretty awesome. AND they came in these cute test beakers which was very on theme! For drinks we got the butter me up from her recommendation and the Charandas incantation. The charandas incantation was surprisingly tasty although the butter me up was not I love an old fashioned which I thought this would be adjacent to, but honestly it tasted like nothing but alcohol and MAYBE a hint of caramel at the end. Just pretty alcohol forward so it tasted like I was taking a shot the whole time. The other thing that was a little off putting was the fact that they had all these fun cocktails... and they were served in a plain glass with a massive ice cube I think with the name of the Alchemist - I just expected more. Food we got the Peanut noodle cups because honestly the menu was a little confusing. It had Asian, Mexican, American, and Peruvian food all together.... And none of it looked amazing. The Peanut noodles were a little heavy on the fish sauce and kind of hard to eat, but overall ok. I like the idea of here, and I think there is potential. But personally I can think of quite a few other places I would go first.
